I beg to differ.
Every day I see indications that we have, at least in some respects, a brighter future.
The Internet is forever they say, and until now the politicians have relied on short memories to get reelected, and “teachers” have relied on a near-monopoly on young minds to avoid responsibility for their blatant political indoctrination.
Both are now in jeopardy.
The question now is what will replace them?

Timing is everything. Think of the 1953 movie version of H.G. Wells’ “War of the Worlds”.
Now imagine the Martians arriving 66 million years ago, before the Chicxulub meteorite and the K-T extinction.
I will offer one correction.
At the time of the Spanish conquest into the Americas, the foreign conquerors were Spanish Spaniards, they looked like any other western European of the time.
They were not the Mexican Spaniards trope of today.
And they brought The Horse, which revolutionized tribal warfare when its use was refined by Comanche and Kiowa. They actually fought mounted whereas other tribes commuted to the battle, then fought dismounted.
And the donkey, which is doing banger numbers out here in the southwest… Collected a few wild ones ourselves…

Growing up in the fifties in the southernmost tip of the northernmost state south of the Mason-D line, Dade County Fla., I remember Cubanos ‘plainin’ how their Spanish was closest to ‘Real Castilian Spanish’!

“It’s timing.
And now it’s our time.
Crackers and rednecks best step up.
Or else our time could be the end times.
Your timing is a little off. Our Time is the sun is about over. We are going to die because we thought we could play fair.

As my friend says of his son-in-law, “He is Spanish, not Hispanic.”

Cerveza or therveza, beer’s a beer.
During Carter’s Cuban boat lift, the Army pulled a bunch of Hispanic, soldiers to the Ft Chaffee camp. They had a hard time understanding the cubans!
Are you thaying thomething about their thexuality? 😉
Give the Demoncrat Primary season its due.
It makes the concept of using watery tarts handing out swords to select political leaders look better day by day.
WOW, I have not heard such accurate names for the foreign invaders since All in the Family aired on TV. NICE
