    OK, I don’t understand it.
Maybe my brain is frozen due to it being Super-Groundhog Day (2/22/22).

      OODA loop:

After you’ve Acted, “loop” back to the top and Observe the results of your actions. Etc. Etc. Etc.

      • February 22, 2022 at 2:27 am

Thanks, I did not know that fraise.

      • February 22, 2022 at 6:05 am

See Col. John Boyd, USAF. it’s the basis of modern air combat theory, and the design of the F-16 fighter.

        Shooter 2.0

A friend tried to tell me the OODA loop started with the army. I tried to explain but he didn’t want to listen. And no, I don’t care to read clear either or whatever you repeat over and over.

      • February 22, 2022 at 10:18 am

Boyd’s biography was a helluva read. Brilliant man.

        Spin Drift

The F-16 was done by EM theory (Energy Management or for the really anal retentive engineers in the audience Entropy Management). The A-10 also was designed using this approach. I’m thinking that the F-35 wasn’t.

      • February 22, 2022 at 1:49 pm

BTW – I really liked the “Top Gun ” by Dan Pedersen … Not being “airedale-oriented” … it fascinated me. Hope you’ve gotten a chance to peruse.

      • February 22, 2022 at 1:52 pm

Isn’t that just … normal living? Or am I too engineerish to notice that it’s not?

        Professor Ronin

The goal is to do it faster than your opponent- In a fight you over stimulate your opponent as they are constantly trying to keep up and adapt to what you’re doing. Done properly, they shut down in “Condition Back” and you’ve won.

      • February 22, 2022 at 3:20 pm
        Professor Ronin

        Sorry- “Condition Black”

      • February 22, 2022 at 4:04 pm

In the context of a fight, that makes perfect sense. Still, it’s pretty much how I deal with life every day. At a much slower pace, obviously, but the same process.

      • February 22, 2022 at 5:41 pm

It is, what I preached at the gunseller counter for 40 years as Situational Awareness.

  • February 22, 2022 at 12:15 am

This is a good plan. Gonna take a lot of people catching onto it in order to make use of staying inside their loop, but I’m a hopeful soul.

  • February 22, 2022 at 12:22 am

With the Left, their game is always … heads I win, tails you lose.

You’re better off just keeping your coin and giving the Leftist a swift kick in the ass and send ‘em on his way …

I can never see the term ooda loop without thinking oompa loompa…

The evolution of which, come to think of it, are as good an example of it as anything.

  • February 22, 2022 at 12:53 am

    Ooda loopa, do-ba-dee-doo,
I’ve got a perfect puzzle for you.
    Ooda loopa, do-ba-dee-dee,
If you are wise you’ll listen to me.
What do you get when you start a cold war?
What do you think propaganda is for?
Get in the loop and you’ll catch them foot flat.
What do you think will come of that?
Think I like the look of it
    Ooda loopa do-ba-dee-da,
Keep them off-balance, you will go far.
You will live in happiness too,
    Like the ooda loopa do-ba-dee-doo.

    • February 22, 2022 at 1:21 am

      Perfect. 🙂

    • February 22, 2022 at 12:53 pm

And to add a verse in reference to the ooda effect on oompas…

      Ooda loopa do-ba-dee day,
We lost our black face in the “cultural” way,
How did we end up all blonde haired and white,
It was done to appease real racists, left vs. right
      Ooda loopa do-ba-dee-doo,
We fear to observe, orient, decide, and act too,
Why are we so willing and soft, and weak,
It’s because we are really just sheep, and meek.

      observe, orient, decide, act

      • February 22, 2022 at 12:55 pm

Shoot, forgot the CRA Now! at the end of the last line.

    Too Tall

A lot of wisdom in today’s cartoon.

Group think slows the OODA Loop to a crawl. And the Progs can’t function without their group think.

We need a unrelenting, sustained, campaign of lawfare against the Left. Boston’s mayor Michelle Wu lifted the city’s vaccine mandate on February 18, when faced with a lawsuit. It was not the lawsuit she feared but the prospect of electronic discovery.

    • February 22, 2022 at 1:16 am

Isn’t the first lesson in the Civil Procedure course in law school, “Discovery is a bitch”?

        Too Tall

Yes, and electronic discovery is an enormous, ravenous, female canine with perpetual PMS.

Col. John Boyd devised the OODA Loop for training fighter pilots to survive in aerial combat. After the Korean War the services quit training pilots how to do air-to-air dog fighting. By developing the OODA Loop he brought back the art of aerial man-to-man warfare. His esoteric concept went on in further fields of endeavor to become the most positive training aid ever devised. To this day, his name is shamefully unknown to most fields of educational and tactical thinking. His biography should be required reading in areas of higher applications. His name is spoken of in reverent tones by those in the know in the USMC. They provided a special honor guard at his funeral at Arlington Cemetery. Let his name not be forgotten —Col. John Boyd.

    • February 22, 2022 at 8:09 am

I raise my cup in toast to Col John Boyd……..OODA!

    Do him proud.

      • February 22, 2022 at 5:05 pm

I want a driver that works.
I have a 2005 Suburban that I overheated and a 2001 Ram 1500 that The gizmo read it as a bad computer. It ran well for two years. It starts and gets up to 15 before not wanting to run. I hate car computers. I want a carburetor. Life has been complicated in little ways so I don’t pursue maybe what I should. I wasted a lot of time with people fukking with my OODA loops. I even have a ’89 low hours 5 ton that a 2 army veteran diesel mechanic, as well as other interesting things, up and died of cancer before he finished the title transfer, complicated as it was and he had the paperwork. He had checked out the diesel before he bought it and drove it home from the auction, then here when he wanted something I had. He was too preoccupied is now obvious. I have to put the spare on it now. Ir runs otherwise.
The company had those 1940’s and 1950’s Ford, Studebaker, and Chevrolet work trucks when I was a kid, but my father just sold them. I drove the 1963 c-10 step side short bed to high school for a couple of years. He dumped that when I went to college, 6 kids. No sentimentality about that stuff.
I just have not run into something interesting enough and frugal enough to act on. There are too many not ready to drive trucks here now.
My family member has two that run well, and I have 2 that run, … well..
So I am motivated if what I wants appears in my area reasonably.
        TMI. But you asked.

      • February 22, 2022 at 5:33 pm

Not TMI, info and outlines for the search!

        That 5-ton though…interesting.

I live near DC. I got the chance to cross off my bucket list to put a penny on the grave of John Boyd in Arlington. Read his bio by Roger Corum. Highly recommend it. Got other pennies to drop too. If you, guys, know anybody else I could visit, let me know.

Sorry for the double-tap, that was intended for NotYet up there…

      • February 22, 2022 at 5:15 pm

So i can double tap, too.
i replaced the computer on the 2001 Ram 1500 and it ran like carp with the new (refurbished) computer. I don’t mess with no whores. Not enough there, there. You have to be able to ride with your truck.

Shooter 2.0, “Clear ether” is a phrase E. E. ‘Doc’ Smith used in his ‘Lensman’ series. It was a salutation used when people parted; a wish for safe journeying.

Even though I flew to get my time ( and flying pay) in tankers we got a E and E ( Escape and Evasion ) brief before every flight. Where to try and bail out to stay away from black pajamas.

Returning the favor is necessary; the left can never be allowed to strike in any method that is not returned.

Who didn’t forget the loop are the media toadies…

Tell me their fake news specialists haven’t been observing, organizing, and deciding on this action in their loop of lies for the past three weeks.

Back to my question on an American version…what is the end game that will have concrete and decisive results that cannot be twisted like this…”white flags”…

  • February 22, 2022 at 11:26 pm

With the Right they have a win at all costs mentality no matter who is hurt by it.

The Right is ready for that civil war they have been aching to have. The rest of us don’t want one.

    Wasn’t the first one enough?

    • February 23, 2022 at 3:09 am

The right waated a constructional presidential elector election. The US did not get that.
The right wanted no vote /ballot /election fraud in that presidential election. By any responsible look, which the courts avoided like the plague, that did ot occur.

By Pelosi’s decades long stated policy, tell people what they want to hear in order to gain power.
So it has been done. The horrors that have resulted are the result.

The Americans have been ignored and crushed when the Pelosi side can do so. The elected and appointed people like silver, not lead.
We are becoming the world by illegal actions.

      • February 23, 2022 at 3:50 am

The right wanted a constitutionally held election. It did not happen.
The wusses of the left have been at war against the nation for decades.
Look at how many have been killed by mandates alone. Affirmative Action has been used as genocide. Equality is now not even a desire by the left. The leftist governments are democide champions.
        No borders is genocide.
