Day By Day

  • Bill M

‘Bout time. Looks like Skye’s string and Zed’s patience have both run out at the same time.

  • jane

Gosh, I so love that man!!!

    • Polly Cy

You are so right. The shortage of men like Zed is why I never got married. Well, that and spending my life in the Poli Sci department. You can just imagine the kind of raw material there. Ewwww.

  • WayneM

Why would Sam want to argue with Zed’s decision? As usual, Zed is making sense and showed remarkable restraint. Let’s hope Don Portago enjoys success in schooling Skye.

    • “Let’s hope Don Portago enjoys success in schooling Skye.”

Apparently, that had been the case. Wasn’t Don Portago’s application of that “schooling” the reason why Skye hauled herself and her larvae out of his household and took up quarters at the Double D?

  • Malatrope

Hallelujah! It’s well past time for Zed to put the hammer down.

  • MasterDiver

    So let it be Written,
    So let it be DONE!

    • JW

      I recon so…

      • richard

        Good one, Josey.

  • John M.

Sorry Skye, but Tina Fey did a better job…

    • Old Codger

Have you ever seen side-by-side pics of Sarah Palin and Tina Fey doing her Sarah Palin impersonation? Momma Grizzly has Fey six ways from Sunday! And Momma Griz is older. Absolutely, inarguably nolo contendere! It ain’t even close. Plus I suspect Momma Griz shoots damned near as well as Sam. Too bad D2 is men only. Love to see Momma Griz do a guest shot. I’d be willing to bet she could drink most of her politician “colleagues” (especially the more liberal Damnocrats) under the table.

      • Hell, I think Sarah Palin deserves to be invited! She may have her balls on her chest, but she’s got a serious set.

        • PaulS

          “chesticles”

  • interventor

Love the dress Sam is nearly wearing.

    • Polly Cy

It looks like she got the left side of the hem stuck in her … uh … undergarment.

      • JTC

Zed may wear the pants but it looks like he got into Sam’s.

  • JTC

Sam’s half-hearted appeal is because family…but she accepted what she knows is right…that Z is head of the family and that Skye needs to go.

Good outcome on this story arc, Chris but please??? Please don’t ever print the words” Hillary’s pussy” again! I won’t even ask for mind bleach, there ain’t enough in the world.

    • Old Codger

+1000 on the 2nd paragraph. I don’t know how Huma does it. We know Slick had HIS fill o’ that decades ago. Face it, Compared to Hildabeast, Monica is drop dead GEORGEOUS. And you have to wonder if Slick ever smoked those cigars and if so, what sort of aroma/flavor the “juice” they were soaked in imparted to them. Hey! Inquiring minds want to know! πŸ˜‰

      • eon

OK, now I need brain bleach.

But Zed made the right call on Skye. Note that in Japan, she won’t get just a warning for this kind of shit. They don’t consider DWI a misdemeanor, and considering their traffic density, especially with pedestrians in the mix, I don’t blame them.

        clear ether

        eon

        • Old Codger

In Japan they don’t just have DWI (i.e. when the needle moves too far) they also have DWDI (Driving While Drinking Indicated). That means that you blew and the needle moved. When new guys get their orientation they are told in no uncertain terms. Wait at least 30 minutes after using Listerene otherwise you might get stopped and blow just a tiny bit positive.

  • interventor

Between the second and last panels, it got much shorter.

    • Kafiroon

Maybe the dress is up as Zed ‘handily’ made a “pants” check!

    • GWB

It sure does. From past the knees to on the hip.
Chris, where can I buy a dress like that for my girl? Is it remote controlled?

  • xdcpd085

    Well……………………………..Bye!

    • KenH

      Beat me to it
      Nice πŸ˜€

With any luck at all, she’ll learn nothing and mouth off to a Yakuza type and lose everything above the neckline

      • interventor

Not too many yakuza in Sapporo, Ibelieve.

  • Spin Drift

How’s she going to get the bike fixed from Japan? And the red bearded guy seemed so nice.

    Spin
    War Damn Eagle
    Molon Labe

    • interventor

Sam is repairing the bike. Skye can’t repair shait.

  • epador

BIG mistake letting her take the “and yours.” She ain’t competent.

    • JTC

Don’t recall if we know who or what is babydaddy to Skye’s “and yours”, but depending on the genes and other things, one night she might get murdered in her sleep by that sprog.

  • SheepDog

Once Skye gets to Japan, she has her mama to deal with. She’s one tough lady as I seem to recall. When Skye got rid of one of the house help in the past, mama made Skye take her place.

  • interventor

The Don should hire a large Ainu woman to mind Skye and the kids. Administer bare bottomed spankings as needed. Skye, probably daily.

    • Pamela

Skye and spanking? Get slick Willy with the shaky hands to administer the discipline.

  • Fox2!

    Hentai Skye!

    • B Woodman

      Ewwwwwww . . . . . .

      • Pamela

Ewwwww is right. That’s on par with furries.

Bode was better with Cheech Wizard than that stuff.

        • B Woodman

GASP!! You’ve read Vaughn Bode’s “Cheech Wizard”??
(squeeeeeeeeee) I still have in my vast comic book collection several of the Vaughn Bode books.
If I’m not being too rude and too forward, may I say that . . . . And I think I’ll stop there before I embarrass myself. Let me just say that if given the opportunity, I would enjoy meeting you face to face.

          • Jeff

Good ol’ Cheech Wizard….”Welcome to da West……”

          • Pamela

I read a great deal and enjoy some rather eclectic subjects.
Midnight showings of Rocky Horror, Wizards and Trancers.
            No need to be embarrassed.

        • S Hooks

Glad to see that “the Hat” is not forgotten. πŸ˜‰

          • Chris Muir

            bode,corben, oh, yeah.

        • Shonkin

Not to mention the Belinda Bump cartoons in F&SF magazine.

  • B Woodman

“Skye, you and yours are on a flight to Japan tonight”
I feel sorry for the twins. Any way they can be kept at the DD?

    “Not until she grows up.”
And we all know when THAT will be. (like, the 12th of never)

  • skooter

Send her back to japan and as soon as she gets there mama cuts of the money faucet COMPLETELY, force her to get a job and then out of mamas house!

    • interventor

Hard for a gaijin to get a job in Japan.

      • Jay Langlois

She will get a job alright! Skye will do very well in a Kogane Cho Soapland in central Yokohama !!

  • capn

    Well Done Chris.

A fitting and proper end to this arc.

The twists and turns were sometimes unexpected but this ending “just fits”.

    Well Done

  • Pope Cleophus I

Good strip as always. When Hillary’s name is spoken there are only two words to answer in reply.

    Vince
    Foster

    • Pamela

I would include the alleged shipments of tainted blood products from the ARK correctional system to Canada.

  • Big Jim

Y’know, I keep hoping Skye will finally wake up–but she never does. Zed’s right. Boot her ass long. What a shame and waste.

  • Richard McEnroe

What the he’ll does Zed have against Japan?

    • Sam

Sometimes it’s not having anything “against”. It’s having something “for” something else. In this case, he’s “for” he, and Sam, and theirs. Skye’s gotta go to preserve what they have.

      • Precisely so. Perfectly spotted.

      • John Greer

Besides, the larvae will at least have a functional mother in oba-sama and the Japanese school system is not half bad.

  • Gott Dayum! Zeds solid put the Alpha on! Enjoy your trip, Skye. You had a wonderful life, and as with any airhead libtard you fucked it up. All the better for the DD.

    • Forgot my apostrophe. Zed’s.

  • H_B

Two things: #1, Hillary’s invulnerability may be thinning, but I think the result is still out on whether it’s “gone”. My estimation of the FBI hangs on this a lot.

#2, stop for a minute and savor the fact that as punishment, Zed is throwing Skye out of her country.

    • Bill G

FBI can only gather information. It is up to the Attorney General’s office to decide what to do, and in this case, the A.G.’s boss.
What the FBI personell decide to do after Obola tells Lynch to say “These are not the crimes you are looking for. Move along” will be on Comey, his aides and the senior investigators on the case.

  • Bill

Orange is the new black. Adios mofo.

  • m225

Like the orange overalls number B24. Chris can really keep the details in any given strip.
    OutStanding.

  • BillyBob

What’s up with the right-hand drive on the pickup?

    • Chris Muir

man,i missed that, i swapped the image.

      • SteveInCO

Maybe Sam swapped it, because she wants to train Skye on how to drive in Japan.

        OK, that’s ridiculous, I know.

  • FXDWG

The proper way to deal with in-laws.

  • Stormhawk

This is the deal, man gets his ride fixed, the sheriff is rid of a trouble maker, and Skye doesn’t do time. So, the sheriff has told Skye to be out of town by sundown. Fitting.

  • CG

I just realized (although I don’t know if Chris Muir intended it this way) the last four panels are a logical extension of the conversation between Zed and Sam on January 11 and 14 about the old code of chivalry requiring duties of both men and women, and that while women might not want to go back to the old ways, there’s a very real danger men don’t either.

Men do want to protect their own, but there are times that requires tough choices for both the protectors and those they are protecting.

Regarding Skye’s kids, no, I don’t think Zed is okay with sending two small children away too. But he has his own wife and children to think of, as well as everyone else he cares about at the ranch, and there’s really no way to separate Skye and her kids.

If the kids are there, Skye can be there, and she happily and eagerly causes problems everywhere she goes. Even the whole thing a few months ago with her setting up a fake Tinder account for Zed was a very bad idea which could have had very horrible long-term consequences. Destroying trust between two other people is never a “joke” and the fact that Skye can’t see that is reason enough to get her away from everyone else.

Anyway, I’m not sure is Sam’s statement about Zed being the one who wears the pants was a small but intentional weeks-long story arc. But if it was, bravo Chris!

  • NotYetInACamp

When the deciders agree with you, take the win and walk away.
    Skye never learned that.
She also does not know what she really wants. She might have had it if she was not so poorly educated by way of her progressive indoctrination. The “brainwashing” that AG enemy Holder spoke of concerning guns unfortunately runs across the board and spectrum of idea and thoughts in their attempt to control the sheeple / slaves. Congress even recently passed a law making propaganda legal to use on the United States public. Skye is part of their target market.
Certain correct decisions require wearing the pants, be it by a correct male or a correct female. Ideas matter. Those ideas lead to action. (if I did Twitter, #IdeasMatter would be a great one.)

  • Bill G

Skye needed to be excised, like a boil. Her kids? I doubt there could be any justification for keeping them while sending the mother away unless she signed off on the deal.

  • Gus Bailey

Z may be wearing the pants, but Sam’s beady wearing that dress!

  • Gus Bailey

    Gah! PIMF beaRly
