I don’t know a lot about the various different choppers, but I know that the B52, C130 & A10 are the three best, most iconic fixed wing aircraft ever designed. Possibly there is one chopper or fighter that’s in a class all by itself, but I’m not aware of that. The B52, C130, & A10’s are pretty much the epitome of aircraft at their designed mission and BY FAR superior to every other.

The idiot politicians keep trying to put the A10 Warthog out to pasture. Its not as”sexy” as an F16 or some other high flying jet. The soldiers will not allow it. The A10 flys low and slow, where the action is. The enemy wets its collective pants when they heat an A10 coming at them.

We have exactly 100 B-52H models left in the inventory. They were made in 1961. They are 60 years old BUT they are maintained and upgraded as new goodies come out.

The reason I know this is because I did several mod’s on them before I quit the contract biz 6 years ago. Even the one at Edwards A.F.B. which makes 101 left. At one time we had well over a thousand of them. But the “D” models (tall tail) and the “G” models are all scrap now and have been for many years.

PS. I also worked on B52’s and KC135″s for 28 years in the USAF and retired.

For steveb919: The GRANDMOTHER of the last B-52 pilot has yet to be born!

If the Wright Flyer of 1903 had the same longevity as the B-52, we would have just gotten around to retiring it.

Hind F. Sensor pod under nose instead of 12.7mm Gatling. IR-suppressed exhausts. Two 30mm cannon fixed forward-firing, starboard side of nose, not visible from this angle. The same gun system as on the Su-25 Frogfoot.

Add in four UB-57 pods plus the four wingtip mounted 9K114 Shturm (AT-6 Spiral) ATGWs, and anything short of an Abrams that gets within 1500 meters is going to have a very bad day.

Few things in life can provide the kind of focused attention and care that rotary-wing Close Air Support (CAS) brings to bear.

The few surviving targets report feeling truly unique and special just before the lights went out.

All that is required to rock someone’s world are:
        – Skilled hands
        – Smooth, gentle, movements
        – Caress the trigger
Chemistry, Physics, and Biology will take care of everything else.

I’ve only read the series 3 times… Ringo is an wonderful writer who does his research. In the Posleen Series, I was able to “see” the fight through Fredericksburg, VA, as I live close by. He even knows about the tunnels.

Especially read The Centurion, uncanny prescience about a middle east war and a germ.

“Karl (?),” Skye’s hookup from Florida who went to Germany and became a priest after an “attitude adjustment” from Zed? I don’t think Karl fits the timeline to be father of Hugo and Eva, but since scientific notation would be required to count all the possible candidates, one never knows.

I do not recall anyone with the given name of Christian from Zed’s, Naomi’s, Damon’s or Jan’s time in the “sandbox,” it there might be.

Family member or a loyal “spotter”? Some relationships don’t have to involve blood [or semen]. Covering the shooters back during the long shot matters muchly.

I agree with both, but it would be tough to park the A-10 in front of City Hall. That bird ain’t “tiny” and needs room to flap its wings. The Hind does rather make a “statement”, ‘specially with a proper grin under the visor and 4X under the winglets.

Or an intell source or child there-0f. Lurking works, but knowing who will be getting extra desert after dinner ups the return, ‘specially if that special someone can be taken for a little walk “out back”.

In Shariah, “proof” is a rather vague concept. In practice, it comes down to two guys willing to say, “Yeah, guilty”. No appeal. In which case the Hind is very appealing.

Based on sheer size… I’d estimate that it’s rotor wash is about the equivalent to an H-53. That’s up in the realm of helos that “make their own wind” during ship-board operations. No special course corrections needed to give them favorable winds across the deck. (53, 46, 47 etc)

I am guessing that the “jab” was a tactical move. From the Russkies, “Perfect is the enemy of good enough”. The “jab” was an experimental counter to an unknown but potentially lethal threat that would keep the country functional. Once the threat lessened, the Corruptocrats took the initiative aided by Fool Fauci.

Elders always get a higher dose. It is printed on the Flu shot vial labels. That higher dose might be lethal to younger individuals. That was the gamble that PDT took. Effectively risking the old to save those still useful in the production of food and materiel. Boost Granny and Gramps later if they survive.

    Welcome to “wartime” decision criteria.

Once it was clear that Kung Flu had mutated, we all get to choose the level of risk that we feel comfortable with. Keep focused. This is real world gambling. The Dems and the Chamber (Pot) players in expensive suits are playing 3 Card Monty and they are taking your stash, cuz you’re screaming about shapes in the clouds. They have already taken whats left of your government and everything that you, your children, and your grandchildren will ever “earn”. Time to figure the odds and pick a target. The game is still on.

Maybe “Toly” and the Med “Apple” will get some, as an inspiration to those still in the real world game. Be like Santa, “Making a list,…….”. Retirement is just another word for “hiding”. Just sayin’.
