The mercenary is the worst, because he’s unpredictable. He has been known to change sides, or leave the field, if the paychests don’t arrive on schedule. (Ask Charles the Bold of Burgundy about that.)

    Or this gentleman;

Mercenary captains are either very capable men or not. If they are, you cannot rely upon them, for they will always aspire to their own greatness, either by oppressing you, their master, or by oppressing others against your intentions; but if the captain is not an able man, he will generally ruin you.

I say, therefore, that the arms with which a prince defends his state are either his own, or they are mercenaries, auxiliaries, or mixed. Mercenaries and auxiliaries are useless and dangerous; and if one holds his state based on these arms, he will stand neither firm nor safe; for they are disunited, ambitious and without discipline, unfaithful, valiant before friends, cowardly before enemies; they have neither the fear of God nor fidelity to men, and destruction is deferred only so long as the attack is; for in peace one is robbed by them, and in war by the enemy.

The fact is, they have no other attraction or reason for keeping the field than a trifle of stipend, which is not sufficient to make them willing to die for you. They are ready enough to be your soldiers whilst you do not make war, but if war comes they take themselves off or run from the foe; which I should have little trouble to prove, for the ruin of Italy has been caused by nothing else than by resting all her hopes for many years on mercenaries, and although they formerly made some display and appeared valiant amongst themselves, yet when the foreigners came they showed what they were.

One exception is the entrepreneurial Mercenary who is willing to take on the most dangerous enemies for much higher rewards.

I’m just glad I had two sons and no daughters.

When they came home with ripped shirts, I got pissed at the $$ loss of garments.

This reaction would not be in that category if my daughter came home with a ripped shirt…

        The GOP whiffed, as usual.

Non-progressives need to understand that the GOP is never, ever going to any effort on their behalf. In fact, the GOP wishes that Trump, his supporters, and all the effing peasants would STFU and go away. They’re tired of all those grotty groundlings rocking the boat.

They want to get back to Business as Usual. Partying with the Cool Kids in The Only Places That Matter (Safely ruled by the woke left- they figure Mamasboy drinks Perrier), and getting their envelopes full of unmarked bills under the table.

They don’t want the responsibility of actually running anything. And philosophically they’re a lot close to AOC and her lot than most people realize.

Put simply, why should they put themselves out on your behalf when they don’t even effing like you?

The answer of course is that, they won’t. Ever.

The GOP needs a generational change and a change in philosophy as much as the Democrats do.

Most obviously, when the Democrats are trying to burn down Western Civilization, the GOP needs to stop handing them matches.

Luckily, the same blue haired tongue-ringed bog monsters and the clueless suburban white-guilt liebrals will be the first ones to find out that when the new law come out saying that all women have to cover their hair and shut their mouths to avoid insulting their new islamic masters and making them blow things up or stab infidels as we see more and more frequently in France, Germany, Britain and notably Sweden, they’ll have no choice but to obey or have the NYMP (new york Morality Police) beat them half to death for their insolence..I give it a year, maybe less before they find out what they really did…or until the next 9/11 remembrance day where cancdy gets handed out in the strrets by dancing muslims…just like on the actual day.

Trump’s quote on the reason for the election results…

    “Trump wasn’t on the ballot.”

He’s right. Look at who/what the ‘pubs ran, no-names and deadbeats.

It’s not the R’s per se we want in there, it’s the M’s.

We the Maga nation are responsible for Trump, and he is responsible not the idiot Rino’s and not the evil Dims, but for America, and for us.

When the chips are down, he will make his call, essentially putting himself on the ballots and us on the line.

If Republicans need Trump on the ballot to guarantee turnout to stop tranny loving governors and murderous state’s attorneys from winning, then Trump needs to do everything he can to make sure everyone knows that he’s on the ballot in the midterms or else MAGA will be stopped dead in its tracks.

Speaking of batshit, I see a Muslim communist was elected as Mayor of NYC. For some reason, that doesn’t bother me as much as Jay Jones being elected as Attorney General despite the exposure of his penchant for violent rhetoric.

    We’re living in interesting times.

IMHO there’s no such thing as a “Muslim Communist.” You’re one or the other, and Islam is worse. Centralized governments sometimes sleep; theocracies don’t.

Communists in the U.S. think they are allied to Islam. They aren’t. If Islam takes over the Communists will be eliminated just as ruthlessly as Jews and anyone else who doesn’t bow five times a day to Allah.

It’s always the intellectuals who bring communism or theocracy, and when it arrives they are always the first ones lined up against the wall. And they are utterly surprised to find themselves looking at the inside of a blindfold. Every. Single. Time.

The good thing about this is that the moonbats now have a full year to well and truly fuck things up before the midterms and they won’t be able to keep quiet until then or their ‘voters’ might decide they didn’t get the horrors they ‘elected’ and jump ship early…almost like the opposition to them was planned that way.

The one takeaway from this is that the people electing these catastrophes were never going to vote MAGA under any circumstances, they have to suffer enough to stay home on voting day or split the left’s vote on another choice.
