      JTC,

A better question would be who in the Obama administration, Biden administration, or a Congress with Pelosi as Speaker, actually possesses any testosterone?

In all three cases, wisdom remains below the threshold of detectability as well.

As another measure of how far we have fallen: In the last century, the West has only produced three straight talking national leaders who loved freedom more than self, demonstrated wisdom, and possessed a pair in working order.

      JTC-

You’re falling into the apex fallacy. It’s not that women are at the top echelons, it’s that they make up the significant majority of the voters. In every 1st world country, there are more adult women than there are adult men. In the USA, suffrage is 56% women to 44% men. That’s a 12 point lead, which is pretty much insurmountable: what women want, women get.

Additionally, women make 80% of consumer purchasing decisions. Corps know that women control the purse strings. That’s why so much woke is prevalent in corporations today: because that’s what women want.

So women control the direction of 1st world countries, while contributing around 25% of the tax base to fund them and barely over 0% of the conscription to enforce their will.

Turn-about if fair play. Russia sent intel and “support” to North Viet Nam. Under International Law [snigger] it ain’t “war”. People being killed doesn’t make it war. It is a word game but it protects your cities. Actually, I am surprised at the supportive response of Europe. They were next on the menu, but still.

Russia went into the Ukraine to control the gas, oil, and coal reserves that could Bork the Russian almost monopoly on European fuel. Sending cash, weapons, and then an army into the Ukraine was simple theft. The Ukraine is no more part of Russia than California and Arizona are part of Mexico. That game ended about 2 Centuries ago. The Russians/Soviets/Bolshies made the Ukraine out of pieces. It stuck. screw Moscow.

The old Tsarist Dream Empire included a good part of Poland, part of Germany, and most of several “hill billy” nations in the Balkans. Once the Moscow Thugs started West, they all knew that they were next. Pre-WWII the Russians(Soviets) murdered over 100,000 captives in places like the Katyn Forest. The Ukrainians found bodies and torture sites around Izyum (Izium?). The Russkies haven’t changed just ‘cuz Stalin died. Ex-KGB Major Putin was trained to be a thug.

I wasn’t impressed by the skirts of the European military Ministers, but they did let the boys do what had to be done. They were smart enough to play the game of “support”. Some whine about Ukrainian “corruption”. In Russia, the cash for a million plus uniforms, upgrades, maintenance, and training went into lavish yachts and estates. The US is a whore-house run by the Biden-Pelosi-Kerry-Bulger gang. I am sure that Europe is just as slimey.

So “corruption” is not a reason to not support the Ukraine. Those boys and girls in the mud are doing a nice job of kicking Major Putin’s thugs in the ‘Nads. They will then have a chance to rebuild a not so corrupt country. Maybe the folks at the DD will actually use their talents and machines to do something useful for their country.

Putin is KGB, Period. No ‘Former’ about it. And he wants to reinstate the Russian Empire. Ukraine was the second step. Crimean was the First one. He rushed his attack by a solid year-plus because Ukraine was very close to being asked to Join NATO> That is part of why the initial assaults failed. Along with poor training and corrupt officers with’Ghost Soldiers’ on the rolls, the maintenance on vehicles and equipment was execrable, and the time of the attack was even worse. Training was practically non-existent, for junior officers and enlisted and the NCO Corps in russia is pathetic. Ukraine on the other hand, has been getting training for its NCO and SNCO cadres, and the Officer ranks from company to field grade have been through any number of training programs, and it shows. With the support from European and NATO countries, Ukraine has managed to not just hold off a force 3+ times its size, its been kicking its ass out of the country. The liberation of Lymon in the Eastern Front, with the further drive for Luhansk and the border, could split the Russians in half in Ukraine, While Kherson in the South is being slowly cut off. Russians are trying to get across the river befor they’re cut off in the South, and thousands of russians are trying to get out of Crimea. What was a steady stream may well become a flood, after the Kerch Bridge was nearly destroyed Saturday.

        James/G,

Empires are so 19th century. Actually, the pursuit of empires has been a 1600 year series of catastrophic failures to recreate the Roman Empire, which while impressive in its day, really wasn’t all that great to begin with. Tsar, Kaiser, whatever, everybody wanted to be Caesar.

For the slow learners, the United States Marine Corps put paid to the notion of empires with the Winchester Model 1897 shotgun in World War I.

Quantity still has a quality all its own, but there is little practicality or glory in mass troop formations and trench warfare when you are being mowed down by buckshot. Maneuver or die. Or as the Marines would say: “Improvise, adapt, overcome.”

Holding back the trigger and pumping the slide turned the Model 1897 into a “slam fire weapon.” With a five round magazine, the Marines figured out how to feed rounds into the magazine while working the slide. This caused the German government to file a formal protest that the weapon and tactic were “barbaric.”

I will acknowledge the measurable delay between pulling the trigger or working the slide in a slam fire weapon and rounds leaving the barrel. The M2 .50 caliber machine gun “Ma Deuce” and Thompson .46 cal sub-machine gun “Tommy Gun” have the same feature. However, the delay doesn’t really give your target the time to get their affairs in order.

Conscripts and a rigid command and control system are ill-suited for modern warfare. Modern warfare also requires you to have a strong non-commissioned officers corps to be truly effective. Despite more than 200 years of intense experiential learning, the Russians haven’t grasped the concepts.

It used to be that any tank was useable against a force that had no anti-armour capability or tanks of their own. Today pretty much every section has at least one ATGM that can handle modern tanks and/or a direct fire weapon that would stop any WW2 vintage armoured vehicle and most of the non-MBT ones of today, BMP’s can be taken out with a .50 cal in some cases and a 40mm HEDP from an M203 let alone a Carl Gustav or LAW would be a sure ‘kill’.
Sending in T-34’s or M4’s or even original T-55’s would be tantamount to executing your own troops.
Even in WW2, except for a very few major tank-on-tank battles, the vast majority of tank ‘kills’ didn’t come from other tanks but from anti-tank guns or mines.

The takeaway: We are at war with Russia, using Ukraine as a proxy.

Braindead says we are facing Armageddon if we don’t support them MORE…Tulsi says (and I wholeheartedly agree) that we are facing Armageddon if we don’t withdraw…

“We’re already in a hot war with Russia, and it’s going to get a lot hotter because the Biden Admin’s stated goal is the complete destruction of Russia’s economy & military. Russia has made it clear that if faced with this prospect they’ll have no choice…and once the nuclear Pandora’s Box is open, it’ll be impossible to close. The path the Biden Admin has us on will lead to WWIII & nuclear Armageddon. Our country, families & world will suffer beyond comprehension. Obviously this isn’t what the American people want…
      ·
…we want peace & prosperity. But we have to fight for it. It’s not too late. With upcoming elections, the power is in our hands to stop this insanity by supporting those, D or R, who are committed to ending this war with Russia & use our treasure for the American people.”

“Real Men” don’t set up kill lists of Baptists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Orthodox priests.
Putin’s little Covid isolation orders for the intelligence services his regime is built around backfired horrifically in the quality of intel he got from Ukraine.
Ukraine has beaucoup problems, but its relatively open society allowed for a leader both stupid enough to be prosecuting his more anti-Russian predecessor for “terrorism” for founding an armed militia group but also smart enough to let competent military leaders do their thing and stick to acting, which he’s very good at, and which has made even pacifist Obama-loving Germans wake up and join the real world where hard power exists and energy supplies matter, sadly the population has moved faster than the slow-poke civil servants, but they cannot slow down Portuguese and otehr weapons shipments being sent to the good guys across their territorry forever.

Several here have made good points, but there are deeper points to be made.
First, Putin is just as delusional as our own “leadership” and just as highly motivated.
Yes, he wants his old Empire back, but being KGB he failed to notice that he was part of the problem and not the solution as was the rest of the Top Down Control Mob that destroyed the USSR. He helped create the Corruption Culture that has left what could have been a great nation a hopeless wreck that simply couldn’t hold on to its empire and that now can’t punch its way out of a wet paper bag. It wouldn’t surprise me if the man he orders to nuke Ukraine simply pulls out his service weapon and blows Putin away knowing that starting WWIII will kill him _and_ his family. Hell, the survivors might just raise a statue to him.
Second, we don’t know if Putin is a nihilist. If so, he may just want to see the whole world burn if he can’t have his way. If so, we can only hope that he somehow gives us a signal strong enough to goad us to act before he pushes the button, and even then we survivors will have to hunker down for a while.

So many thoughtful ideas. A man keeps learning his limitations, A man also gains knowledge as to where the limits are not present.
I condemn the acts of so many on so many sides.
I wonder who might take the position of Catherine the Great who learned Russian culture and the language and befriended the military. After her husband squandered so many soldiers in a ridiculous defeat of the Prussians for meaningless territory, was it a wonder that she was supported by her friends and allies in the military upon the Czars demise from power.
The West has abused its word by continuing to advance upon Russia borders. Ukraine has been desecrated by the violation of the agreements of no wars there when Ukraine gave up its nuclear. Russia has sent armies into Ukraine. It was not a wise policy when Lenin did it at a great cost.arsenal, even though Ukraine was a declared anarchy at the time and not a soviet as Russia claimed to be.
Kosovo’s being carved out of Serbia after the massive illegal invasions immigration after WW1 ended, and the ethnic cleansing achieved before, during , and after the NATO destruction of much of Serbia. The massacres were by both sides. Who started it. What day are we discussing? The elections in “former” provinces of Ukraine were similar to the UN and EU sanction elections that removed the land where Serbia started from Serbia. With the Russian Orthodox removed from most of Serbia (Lands were effectively confiscated as Sharia allows) Kosovo became an Islamic majority vote state. It joined Albania as such.
The various corrupt regimes in Ukraine looted for their own benefit when in power.
The goal should have been how to achieve suitable rights for cultural Russians and Ukrainians that did not rely on the actions of corrupt government officials. The results of the asssholes is a situation damaging to everyone living their, their neighbors (I trace back to a neighboring tribe), Europe, Russia, and the world.
People are actually talking about nuclear detonations.
It was solvable in a peaceful way.
Those who create unjustifiable wars must be prosecuted as war criminals. Hopefully the nuclear will not occur.
Remember that Hillary said publicly while running that she would have us in a war with Russia quickly if she won.
Biden said that if Russia attacked Ukraine that he would take out those pipelines that were bombed.
I have limited information on what is really going on. I read reflections and ripples and public information and listen to some who used to have information. I have a limited AO. I have been a poll watcher, someone who taught candidates how to get elected morally,a commenter of ideas where they might help. someone who took an election law case to a state supreme court and won that was based on a county law being empowered and a state law not being empowered concerning that election law. I do what I can. I no longer live in my home county. Out of sight, out of mind for many. It is at least a hundred mile drive to places I could be effective, so I rarely do that anymore. Out of state is not happening as I do not do this for profit. I hope everyone here does what they can. We have not lost the entire nation yet. Nor shall we. I have watched 2 of my colleges football games this year. It has been years. Talk about normalcy bias. The end of the world will not be as obvous as we expect.
In my expert opinion, the 2020 Presidential election was held unconstitutionally. That is not even looking at the ballot irregularities in six states. (6 counties maybe.)

I even came up with a campaign with the punch line of the meme or video or statement being “AT LEAST VOTE”
Give me some credit if used or it works.
That almost made me overcome my Luddite Troglodyte tendencies and start a website and begin creating such things for public distribution.
