What Grunt said. The level of coincidence, lost emails, Arkancide, ad infinitum, is beyond belief.

Why not declare that they deleted info and that is proof of guilt and therefore constitutes treason. Once the arrests start I bet they could suddenly “find” the missing stuff in order to face a lighter charge…. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not a lawyer, but isn’t destroying subpoenaed material a criminal offense? or at least Obstruction of Justice? Let’s see, if each destroyed email or document constitutes a separate offense, that could wind up with a jail term of, oh, a couple thousand years. And of course there’s no parole for federal offenses, so all the time would have to be served. Lovely thought.

Which is why they didn’t “destroy” it, they simply “failed to preserve” it.

        Old Codger

Actually, they didn’t “fail to preserve” the texts at all. It was simply a massive, highly selective and fortuitous SERIES of software glitches which somehow resulted in those specific texts not being preserved. And if I were on the jury I damned well would vote to acquit the one(s) accused of destroying evidence – not because of reasonable doubt but because of 1) a well developed instinct for self-preservation and 2) the ability to spell “arkancide”.

It at least constituted Obstruction of Justice, and that’s good for a Federal criminal record and some time in the Greybar Arms.

Reorganize the government so all backup people are now employees of the Congress reporting to their main IT department. The facilities, funds, and employees just move on over, same pay and benefits but now they have to pass on all their backup failures as they happen and can no longer refuse to process restore requests from Congress.

For very little money, this solves the vast majority of the problem.

Congress gets access to the information it needs often before it even realizes it needs it.

Funny how they can find a copy of DJT talking off the record about how some star-dazzled women make themselves sexually available to men in positions of power so much so they’ll “let you grab ’em by the pussy” and yet… those whose jobs supposedly depend on the continuity of evidence can somehow “lose” important materials…

I am sure that there are politicians (ruling class) that are telling Trump, that arrests can’t be made because the people will lose confidence in our form of government.
Too many in power would have to go to jail.
That is exactly why they need to be prosecuted and incarcerated, so that “We The People” do not lose confidence in our form of government!

All of this is tied to the Dems “electing a new people”. Trump’s election was terrible enough – for them – to fight his policies 24/7. With all these possible ‘conviction in a can’ emails disappeared but not destroyed hanging over a lot of heads the gov’t shutdown and DACA suddenly became moot points in the Power Play of DC.
Just a theory, but Our President may be able to make this work to his favor for a long time. Maybe send a lot of innocent illegals back home.

I believe that the time has long since passed when the great unwashed want and need to have “The Untouchables” in government rounded up for high crimes and misdemeanors. If that rocks the Government to the core then so be it. Bureaucrats can be replaced and Senators and Congressmen can be appointed by the states. Now is the time for the Big D to unleash Sessions to issue indictments. To save the country this has to be done to both sides of the aisle. Start with the Clinton’s and an audit of the CGI. They got Capone on tax evasion. Billiary can add money laundering and Quid Pro Quo charges to their list of transgressions.

I think they were only useful idiots intent on scamming off as much money as possible. That of course let them be controlled, especially if there was money in it.

      • January 23, 2018 at 1:51 pm

And this might be the key to finding out by whom. And finally that little dwarf Sessions is pledging to be on it like stink, I believe that also is at the behest of Gowdy. I still don’t trust him; we’ll see if the “whom” we speak of can get to him and shut him down.

Was it really only those texts which went to the great bit bucket in the sky or did a larger group of texts “fail to be preserved”? I cannot believe anyone – even a prog – would be so stupid as to only delete the most potentially incriminating texts. Hell! I’d sooner buy the “dog ate homework” story (mostly because I had a friend in High School whose dog actually DID<chew up his term paper) than the multiple software glitches dodge.
