      Delilah,

Libs overpromise and underdeliver. It is probably a lettuce and tomato salad.

In addition, my admittedly limited, experience has taught me that if I wave chocolate around a pregnant women, I am likely to lose a limb or two.

Great white sharks and grizzly bears can seem cuddly and tame by comparison.

Which is of course one of the quaint ways that Socialism implodes into tyranny, and why the Left is blind to it.

In the very first Spenser novel by Robert B. Parker, a group of college “activists” steal a priceless Renaissance era manuscript to hold for ransom until their college does all the usual things that leftist “activists” demanded in the Seventies; remove ROTC from the campus, divest from things the left doesn’t like, “black studies” replacing Western Civ, etc., etc.

Yes, it all ended in violence. As it always does with the left.

The young woman leading the pack tells Spenser, “You’ll see. We’re perfectly serious, and perfectly right.”

Progressives always believe that of themselves, in spite of literally centuries of evidence to the contrary, in the form of the repeated human and other catastrophes they have inflicted upon mankind in their quest for Utopia.

Which means that they are either incredibly stupid, or that the Blood, Devastation, Death, War and Horror they invariably create is their actual intent.

The leftists don’t remember that the people who start the revolution are not the ones who finish it. Idealists, with star-filled eyes covered by rose colored glasses start the revolution, sure that they’ll get it right.
And then the butchers take over.

With one exception, that has always been the rule. The single exception to that rule was the AMERICAN Revolution. The signers of that revolution’s “manifesto”, if you will, were without mature, well established men. I believe that it is for that single reason that the “butchers” never took over. This is in stark contrast to the French Revolution.

No one in the West believed people who said the KGB would come out of the walls at night at drag people off to the gulags…. no one believed it, until the Soviet Union collapsed and Moscow was open to the public and people from the West visited that “special” apartment building in Moscow and found that there were tunnels built between apartments, with doors that could only be opened from the tunnel side… and people had been abducted through those tunnels. Wasn’t Stalin just a clever fellow that way?

Pretty certain the pill(s) will be measured in mm instead of mg., and the active ingredients will be heavy metals. Simple yes, but with horrible side effects…bitter medicine to be sure.

If history is our guide even that will not “cure” the disease but rather just control it. And it will not bring wealth so much as to allow it for the person(s) who find it necessary to administer the doses, and may at least limit the spread of the epidemic for just a little while longer.

Leftism is like the plant called “wandering jew” (Tradescantia zebrina) or the hated weed, Kudzu. Once established it is for all intents and purposes impossible to get rid of. You can trim it back ever so severely but turn your back and when you look again it has recovered the ground it lost and has even gained more. I do not understand what people see in leftism but its adherents are even more entrenched in their faith than any Jehovah’s Witness ever dreamed of being.

I’m just going to leave this here, so that it’s available. A Congressional staffer has been arrested for doxing GOP legislators on their Wikipedia pages.
    https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/10/03/former-democrat-staffer-arrested-for-doxing-gop-senators/

I thought it was a joke, at first, but it is not.

A 27-year-old “unpaid” intern, claiming a masters in cyber security got caught by forgetting to hide his own IP address. There is a list of Democrats for whom he worked. He was arrested by the US Capitol Police for this. So far, no reaction from the democrats, but what else would you expect from them in regard to a disposable useless idiot?

I’ve been looking for updates on this report. He seems to have been caught at a Congressional computer sending out health information on the children of some Congress critters. I can’t find a confirmation on that, but if true, it should show up soon. However, one Dem Congresscritter has said this is absolutely not acceptable. I did find that online.

My response is that an entire generation of people now adult age were raised with no real sense of what is right and wrong, and this is the consequence. And the Dems will pay for it.

In Latin, the word for left is ‘sinister’ and for ‘right’ it is ‘dexter’

“To the left’ is ‘ad sinistram’. ‘To the right’ is ‘ad dextro.’

For some reason, ‘sinister’ came to mean ‘evil’ over a prolonged period of time, as defined by The Church. It’s all in how it is used.

        Pamela, you are correct.

The barre sinister (in French), or bend sinister (in English) was a diagonal line running from the upper right to the lower left across the field of a coat of arms to indicate that the bearer was an illegimitate son of an aristocratic lord.
