Can you say, “oops”, in Spanish? I knew you could, boys and girls.
Tabasco should be renamed “Mighty Mouse”, HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY…….
And I think the coyote is about to either have a Comin’ to Jesus Moment, or he’s about to have an eternally long conversation with Dios.

OT… but in the book “Some Birds don’t Fly,” the author relates the story of Curly and the Pink cloud, where Curly, finding himself down wind of a toxic cloud vented from a failed Wac Corporal missile that failed to launch, rand so fast that the protagonist couldn’t catch him with a jeep as he headed out through the dunes and sagebrush.

Having seen a lot of cow skulls, and what it took to penetrate, that p-shooter is not going to faze most cows. Now Tabasco on the other hand, is no cow. And has a nice rack protecting a lot of skull.

African guides say that a frontal head shot on a Cape Buffalo is a losing proposition. That horn boss and his skull deflect anything up to .460 Weatherby like they were BBs.

Trying the same thing on a hippo is WLNF (a Whole Lot of No Fun), too.

Head shot on a cape buff takes a 50BMG and still has to be well placed. It’s not uncommon for a pissed off buff with both front shoulders broken from a broadside shot to charge their assailants and then run off into the brush. Makes for a real sporty tracking opportunity.

Like elephants and rhinos, Cape Buffalo are best brought down with a head shot to the brain using a solid steel round (copper wash to protect the barrel). Popular for such are .458 Winchester Magnums and older .500 Nitro Express. Saw a box of the latter recently at the local gun store.

Bob in Houston-Vast Right Wing Basket of Deplorable!

Was it “Karamoja” Bell that was known for capping African elephants with well placed head shots with a relatively small caliber? I guess angle of shot and a good knowledge of your targets anatomy is key.

      • July 13, 2018 at 4:29 pm
        John

It will take a special kind of head shot, one that enters the eye and follows the optic nerve to the brain.
I doubt if Pedro has either the knowledge or the courage to try that.

Tabasco mad probably equals them dead. And he’s already honked; they’re on his range and messing with his “cows”. (And yes, bulls really do think like that.)

Think about a metric ton plus of high-speed, very torqued-off muscle that hits you, flips you, then pivots and decides to tapdance on you for a while.

“Ouch” doesn’t begin to describe it.

Yeah, there was just a story about a “famous” one-eyed matador in Spain that got scalped by a fighting bull, who had been injured by the picadors in the usual way, and still almost took the guy’s head off. “Sometimes the bull, he wins” as the punch line goes. In this matadors case, the bulls had won quite a lot. 38 various injuries (including the loss of the eye) from previous less-than-entirely-successful fights.

Here’s the wuestion… will Suzy, who is unfamiliar with the soon to arrive carnage critter, make the situation more confusing for all parties by her reaction? The bull will likely key in on the fleeing Suzy as yet one more target to deal with unless Sam intervenes to halt his rage… or the doggies show up to distract him. They can probably take a few hits before going off-line.
