Hell, they’re all good… Too Tall Sep 23 2018 at 12:06 am Christine Ford and Diane Feinstein should rot in prison for the rest of their lives for their assault and battery of our liberty. The Nth Doctor Sep 23 2018 at 9:56 am Feinstein should, at *minimum*, be censured for withholding information from the committee. Frankly she *ought* to be *expelled* from the Senate for perpetrating a fraud, but that would require a 2/3rds majority, and I highly doubt there are 15 democrat senators with sufficient honor and spine to defy their party leadership and vote to expel one of their own. Malatrope Sep 23 2018 at 12:06 am (I meant frame 4…dang, this system needs an edit key) Fronk! Sep 23 2018 at 7:40 am Like Jim Guill Sep 23 2018 at 12:08 am Bravo! formwiz Sep 23 2018 at 12:10 am Actually, most women don’t believe her, if you take Puffington’s poll seriously. Only 25% of men and 28% of women buy the story and the 3 people she named who were there? None recall the party or being with Brother Bret or her in any similar situation. Icing on the cake? The girl in later life became Mrs Bob Beckel , so she’s no shill. interventor Sep 23 2018 at 12:17 am National Review reports a third witness who doesn’t believe Ford. That’s two who knew Ford and one who knew Kavanaugh. Delilah T Sep 23 2018 at 3:02 pm 4th witness has been ID’d and SHE knows nothing about what Frod says. Is the plot thickening? Or is that just the scent of bitterness I detect? interventor Sep 23 2018 at 12:13 am Love the film noir gendre, coupled with the detective novels. However, I’d say broads with gall, not balls. Women, of the left, are making the case for ending suffrage for women, of the left. Suffragettes were mostly Republicans, if I remember correctly. Deplorable B Woodman Sep 23 2018 at 1:24 am Interventor, Do you speak of (GASP) repealing or modifying the 19th Amendment. Choose your words carefully, the women readers of DBD are deciding your fate as you speak. I can feel the knives being whetted……… I’m somewhat with you, but not in a male/female divide. More along the lines of the original voting franchise; own property and/or run a business = yes. A student, on welfare, a prisoner, a convict, a FedgGov employee or bureaucratic — NO! Not only NO, but HELL NO! This is a simplistic overview, with details to be worked out. John M. Sep 23 2018 at 1:57 am Own real property and/or run a business. If the spouse is on the deed or is an active partner in the business, the spouse has the vote also. To clarify, no matter how much property you own, even plots on different deeds in different counties or states, you (and she) get ONE vote each. Same rule for business ownership and if you own both property and a business, One person, one vote. If you don’t have “skin in the game,” why should you have a say in making the rules? Hardthought Sep 23 2018 at 6:02 am Agreed. One other way to earn the vote. State or Federal service, to include Peace Corps. No one who volunteers will be turned away and you can vote only AFTER completing service. Robert A. Heinlein’s idea. MasterDiver Sep 23 2018 at 8:19 am Citizens and Civilians. RAH had it right! -from a proud Citizen! Zar Belk! Delilah T Sep 23 2018 at 3:05 pm Woodman, with the cost of housing and real estate rising, not everyone can afford to own property. It’s at least as bad now as it was in the year or two before that CRASH in 2009. And that was bad mortgage practices. I own my home, but that should not be a qualifier. And were you planning to deny retired people the right to vote, too? Some of them give up property ownership when they retire to avoid the heinous burden of increasing property taxes. JTC Sep 23 2018 at 7:42 pm Good eye D…BW’s attempt at equal rights suffrage qualification through property ownership is antiquated for several reasons but primarily because the idea predates things like 100% plus leveraging…IOW owning nothing more than a debt, which as was proven in the runup to the ’08 crash, anybody can do when the criteria has more to do with moneychanger quotas than any stability or probity. I do like the idea of national service rewarded by the vote, but I don’t know how tenable even that would be in the hands of politicians. Deplorable B Woodman Sep 23 2018 at 11:02 pm Delilah, I said it was a W-I-P (work in progress). And yes, I know that things are different now than 100 or 200 years ago. The main idea is to get the parasites out of voting freebies for themselves at the worker’s expense. Put those with skin in the game back in charge. That would change the dynamics in FedGov Kongress a lot. John Sep 23 2018 at 3:12 pm There is actually a much different and far more effective approach. 1) All voting shall be conducted as Approval voting, that is every voter is allowed to vote up or down on each candidate or issue no matter the number of candidates or issues presented. The winner has the highest count, or in the event of the candidate selecting another elective office to the next highest thereafter. 2) No elective office holder may succeed him/her self in office. This does not preclude later attempts to that office. 3) Anyone may run for all offices but may select only one of those won. 4) The Senate shall be elected by the Taxpayers in proportion to taxes paid. – The literature is quite clear on Approval votining’s advantages over the one-voter-one-vote system. The mandated office vacation allows new blood to try its hand. The multiple simultaneous office runs assures that good candidates are not lost to government. And the Taxpayers Only vote for the Senate assures that the Tyranny of the Majority the Founders so feared (I think rightly) does not hold sway. Desert Lion Sep 24 2018 at 1:39 pm Can’t agree on the proposal for electing the Senators. I’d go back to the Senate representing the States, as was the original intent of the Founders. The House represented the people with direct vote, supposedly of someone they knew and respected, with the state legislators identifying the two who would represent the state. However, I absolutely agree that anyone receiving unearned government payments, regardless of why, don’t get to vote in the election covering the period in which those payments occur. (And, yes, military retirement is indeed earned.) I know term limits are a very popular rebel cause at the moment, but I’m wholly opposed other than to require elections at the frequencies already specified in the Constitution. (Yes, even Sean Hannity calls it “a terrible idea whose time has come.” I respect his passion, but not his simplistic approaches to many problems, including term limits and the absolutely absurd peanut butter spread dumb-as-a-bag-of-hammers “penny plan” to balance the budget.) Doing so would be much like suicide – a long-term solution to a short-term problem. If culling out those who should be ineligible to vote by requiring anyone who votes must be among those who are net payers into society (and, if I were in charge, required to pass a basic civics test with all answers coming from the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence – even open book), the problem of a permanent political class would be automatically resolved. The only ones who would serve multiple terms would be those who actually understand the meaning of the word “serve”. Arkelk Sep 23 2018 at 9:14 am You might want to allow some federal employees–military, border patrol, firefighters in national forests, for example. interventor Sep 23 2018 at 10:16 am Starship Trooper allowed such. JJ cooper Sep 23 2018 at 6:50 pm Knives? How about a Ruger and a Sig Sauer? NotYetInACamp Sep 23 2018 at 12:23 am By any means necessary. They must prevent a Constitution supporting Supreme Court. WayneM Sep 23 2018 at 12:34 am So everyone knows the Ford allegations are nothing more than opportunistic & manipulative slander from amoral Democrats seeking to “Bork” another Supreme Court nominee. Why the hell aren’t the Republicans ignoring this? Punta Gorda Sep 23 2018 at 2:05 am Well, the general mantra is put up or shut up. Too bad they don’t have the balls to put her ass on record and prosecute her if he changes her story again. Hell, they won’t even prosecute Hildabeast and they have her dead to rights. Jim Sep 23 2018 at 3:15 am Great strip, Chris. But prosecuting the Hildabeast? I hate to say it, but its a waste of time, money, a d kost importantly political capital if you don’t have enough evidence that a jury with at least 8 Dems (this is DC) will overcome their personal political biases to convict. Punta Gorda Sep 23 2018 at 7:31 am Kind of hoping more for a Megacity-1 style of hearing… Deplorable B Woodman Sep 23 2018 at 1:13 am BRAVO!!! A classic! Pamela Sep 23 2018 at 1:34 am Is that a Packard the P.I. is driving? Wrote the W.H. today. I thought that if the Judge were to take one of the clandestine services polys with certain questions there might be a quick resolution. Then I thought why the Ditz was doing the hit job and see if the Ditz was finally getting revenge after all these years for some perceived slight. Maybe she made a play for him and he said No. Nada. See Ya. Bye. I don’t date sluts. Or, there is an offshore account where she gets a WHOLE BOAT LOAD of $$$$$$ if the Judge goes down in flames. GWB Sep 23 2018 at 7:17 am I doubt it’s even that deep of a motivation. She first voiced this concern in 2012. That was the year Romney was running, and guess who was on his list of potential SCOTUS nominees? Yep, Kavanaugh. I just wonder how her name came to light back then. Did the Dems go digging for someone from that school (they were known party-hounds, along with the Georgetown boys) who was willing to put a name to something in their past? eon Sep 23 2018 at 7:24 am Dems routinely do this. Remember, when he ran for City Council in Chicago, The One got every other candidate disqualified by such methods, and did it again in the Dem senatorial primary when he ran for the Senate. They can’t win honestly, so they win by the same methods they’ve always used in Chicago. So far they haven’t escalated to homicide, but I expect that to be next. CM- excellent. Check this out. http://cultofthe1st.blogspot.com/2018/09/why-christine-blasey-fords-high-school_19.html JTC Sep 23 2018 at 11:36 am Sure hope Senate investigators have been made privy to that…but it is actually doubtful, as conservatives do not have the entirety of the “media” branch of the leftist consortium to do all of their investigative work and publicity for them…quite the opposite of course, as it is used to deride and discredit ANY evidence for a fair and balanced investigation. But maybe DT’s team will provide it…if we provide it to them? Text DT now y’all! John Sep 23 2018 at 4:49 pm Scrubbed from the internet? Henry Miller, yes, but he didn’t write mysteries. (Best work: Colossus of Maroussi. Get a copy. Brilliant crisp writing, outshines his novels, IMHO.) Spread that HS Yearbook link around. I’ve seen it elsewhere. Thank the Gods and Goddesses for the internet!!!! This is about $$$$$ and attention, and not much else. My issue, as others have said, is the effect it will have on the credibility of women who ARE responsible people, who do NOT make false reports, and who SHOULD be able to advance. Any woman who is qualified to run for President will be excoriated in the press, especially if she’s Republican. Any woman who reports a real physical assault will be held in doubt. It’s back to the 1950s and ‘she asked for it’. After all the crap we’ve had to put up with to be taken seriously, a bunch of self-centered bitches with brains the size of a mushroom spore are destroying our progress. Thanks a heap, Christine. Zar Belk! Kafiroon Sep 23 2018 at 8:53 am Love this strip! Kavanaugh’s mother, a judge, once ruled against Ford’s family. As a White Male, the shriekers have blamed us for everything they see as wrong. Well, as Kipling wrote “Tommy”, I am Not going to protect their whiny butts from anything. Tuff luck when the SHTF. MAJ Arkay Sep 23 2018 at 11:37 am No, she didn’t. A mortgage company foreclosed on Ford’s parents’ property. After a whole lot of maneuvering through other judges, the mortgage company and her parents reached a settlement. All Judge M. Kavanaugh did was grant the mortgage company’s request to dismiss. The property is still in her parents’ trust. All that said, I don’t believe one word Dr. Ford says. Democrat history guarantees it will be lies, funded by the DNC and George Soros, and the subject will be dropped the very second the character assassination is successful. We can only hope and pray that Judge Kavanaugh will stand fast, as did Justice Thomas. Kafiroon Sep 23 2018 at 6:03 pm Well thanks. I picked that up from the internet. You know what they say: “If it is on the internet, it must be true.” Heh. I bought that one. JTPatriot Sep 23 2018 at 8:55 am Chris Muir has gone from drawing little more than stick-figures to being the greatest political cartoonist of our time. Chris, there is an article in the Trib this morning about a “leaded document” addressing how Google and other internet venues are squelching the voices of conservatives. No one, per the article, knows anything about it, including the staff secretary who usually creates the drafts. I believe them and that it is “fake” or in the same vein as the NYT op-ed about The Resistance. It might be a good idea to keep an eye on this, as part of your ‘trending’ story. Although his scripts could never approach the darkness and evil of this true crime story. Delilah T Sep 23 2018 at 1:25 pm I am sorely tempted sometimes, to get the full-length version of ‘The Public Enemy’, which includes Cagney’s narrative about how some of it was shot. Movie producers now do not understand how to tell a good story. They have completely missed what George Lucas was referring to when he said that he wanted to makes movies like we used to see at the movie theater before the big feature. John Carifidy Sep 23 2018 at 11:02 am Not to put too fine a point on this brilliant cartoon, but there are other female victims here – Judge Kavanaugh’s wife, his daughters and his mother. Caved1ver Sep 23 2018 at 11:15 am #repealthe19th JTC Sep 23 2018 at 11:30 am Oh I’m sure the material from those redacted (they think) yearbooks will be front and center in the hearing…not. “Attacking the victim!” “Privileged White Male double standard!” Is it any wonder her “team” insists on her testifying AFTER Kavanaugh? While no one has raised the red flag on her saying something aboutt date rape drugs, I would not be one bit surprised to see this nightcrawler slug try to claim that. The original roofie (rohypnol) was NOT available to medicine until 1975. This is AFTER she was gone from high school. It was not available except by prescription, ever, but as we know, there are plenty of dishonest people in this world who will steal something like that and hand it out. However, date rape drugs did not surface UNTIL the 1990s. Klonoxin and Xanax are two other pharmaceuticals that are used as date rape drugs. Ambien, another benzodiazepine receptor agonist, was created in 2005. In order for anyone at all to get their hands on drugs like these, a time machine like the Tardis would be necessary, and I do not believe the Doctor would go for it. However, given that I believe this broad is lying in her teeth, it will NOT surprise me if she tries this trick. If she does, it proves that she is lying. Neither rohypnol nor the other two were available when she was in high school. PERIOD. Make a note of that. She needs to be exposed for what she is. Oops, evil male bias showing, I suppose. Desert Lion Sep 24 2018 at 1:15 pm The real victims here, in addition to the nominee, are the thousands of women who actually have been victims of abuse. Several decades ago, my sister. Fewer ago, my daughter. No way in the world I could have done anything about or even been aware of the former, still feel the pain of the latter for not being more aware of what could have been going on (and was) in my own house. These “say anything, do anything, ends justifies the means” slanderers will probably never be fully exposed, but they aren’t bringing any evidence to back up their accusations. No police reports, no witnesses, no corroboration, nothing…just vacuous accusations. Yet in today’s political environment (and has been for far too long), the mere accusation appears to be all that matters. The more serious the accusation, the more enemies back it up. I’m surprised nobody has found a contemporary unsolved murder to pin on him with vapid arguments, “There’s no proof he didn’t do it, and he was alive at the time, so he absolutely must not be on the Supreme Court!” It really does seem to be time for a bit of chlorine to be added to the gene pool. Checkers Sep 26 2018 at 11:50 pm Hi,, you realize there is a movie from 1979 called time after time. Has Mary Steenburgen when she was young and hot.
