Except the dumbshit chose a statute applying to “holding any office under the United States.” This is a term of art applying to APPOINTED office, not elected office. The qualifications for being elected president are entirely defined in the constitution, and can’t be modified by statute.

This is similar to his earlier trying to disqualify Trump under the Civil War insurrection portion of the 14th amendment, despite the fact that Congress has long since nullified it, as authorized by that same amendment.

He may be a clever, evil, and blackhearted lawyer, but he’s not an effective one.

Legal or not, constitutional or not, it all doesn’t matter. This, just like the Jan 6th ‘hearings’ is just another scene in the democrat’s play. Keep the hype going strong in the base, and when the 2024 election draws near, get the AG’s in several deep blue states to declare Trump in ineligible to be on the ballot. Legal or not, constitutional or not, keeping Trump’s name off the ballot in at least one state come November will generate the ultimate minority veto and ensure OrangeManBad doesn’t ever again have the power to fire a single useless government bureaucrat.

Exactly right Jay, and exactly their agenda.

“Effective” is a subjective term when applied to the disarray, disruption, and destruction of anything resembling a free and fair election…and most especially Trump and Trumpism’s participation in it. From his Russian collusion to him calling out the White Nationalists to overthrow their “duly elected” government, facts are irrelevant to their reality. It’s their MO.

Does this also apply to Hillary for when she had Sandy Berger steal possibly incriminating documents from the National Archives (in his socks and underwear).https://www.foxnews.com/story/former-clinton-aide-pleads-guilty-to-taking-classified-docs

U.S. Code Title 18, Section 2071. “having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States,”

Not that I am paranoid or anything, but it appears that the major result of the FBI Keystone Kops raid on Mar a Lago was to prevent Chris from doing an absolutely epic, artistic, Sunday sized, scene with Sam, Mari, Kiko, Mia, Skye, and Jo celebrating another successful fundraiser.

Only the Democrats are stupid enough to assume that anybody with two functioning brain cells would believe Trump was dumb enough to leave incriminating evidence of ANYTHING in his own house.

IF there are stolen classified documents, and that’s an epoch length if, that exist, they won’t be anywhere near anything related to Trump. Certainly not in his house. Even in his safe in that house.

Nobody will believe (well, except the NPCs and sheep) in any “evidence” recovered from this raid. Every sheet of paper, every flash drive, every post it note will be naturally assumed to have been planted by the corrupt agents of the DemoSTASI.

We’ll know it’s on when they try to use anything they find to charge him, and attempt to take him into custody. Particularly if he’s disappeared.

Remember the old saying. Every morning before breakfast, I kit up, load my rifle, and go out onto my front porch. I look left, and I look right. If I’m the only one out there, I go back in and have breakfast. On the day I look left and right, and see kitted up, armed men looking back at me, that’s the day the swamp gets drained.

And it’s a useless exercise. As President, Trump had the power to declassify any document on his say-so alone, and absolutely no requirement to ask anyone’s permission or log his decision with anybody. all he has to do is say he declassified those documents before leaving office, and no one can prove otherwise.

They’re already fearful. That’s why they’re doing these things. J6 scared the crap out of them. Killing Ashley Babbitt came a couple of minutes away from turning the whole thing kinetic.

It took real effort to talk some of those folks down and get them to leave. And I’m not talking about those who went inside. a Couple of the guys with me were ready to go, unarmed, over the barricades at armored cops carrying ARs. And those cops weren’t happy about it, since they were outnumbered about a hundred to one.

But talk them down we did, and we came home peacefully like Trump told us to. Fat lot of fucking good it did.

Someone was bleating that fibbing turned off internal surveillance of MaL residence. Which is a helluva clue if true that they didn’t want any eyes on this. Which if true violates dozens of secret service protocols and regs.
I Am sure Trump has multiple surveillance resources internally. One he can turn off at will. Another that requires access and control and doesn’t show up in any plans unless he needs to counter claims and his primary is destroyed or compromised.

Here’s what everyone seems to be missing. The POTUS has the absolute authority to declassify anything he deems fit. ANYTHING! And, he is not answerable to any other entity, agency or office in this regard. Also, President Trump didn’t pack any of those document boxes although he certainly designated which material he wanted removed. Once he had those documents removed as President, then ipso facto they became unclassified. I’d like to know What the Director FBI thought President Trump had in those documents that threatened national security which caused him to authorize this raid. Pretty sure nothing. And even if there was/is, it doesn’t matter with the power to declassify that resides with the .President.

As far as the President removing documents there are plenty of precedents for this. Both Clinton and Obama did so and we know some of that was considered classified. Obama even returned some classified documents when requested to do so. How come they were never raided?

If I was writing this as a “Mission Impossible” script (the tv show not those ridiculous movies) it would go something like this:

    1. The IMF is tasked with preventing the overthrow of a democratic republic by a renegade party intent on establishing a dictatorship. This party plans to discredit the pro-democracy leader by falsely accusing him of crimes
    2. Rollin (or Cinnamon) goes underground. One of them portrays a member of the pro-democracy leader’s staff who has “something to hide”. Poor Rollin (or Cinnamon) is threatened with prosecution unless she (or he) leads them to evidence that will expose or implicate the leader of the pro-democracy forces
    3. The mole “reveals” increasingly tantalizing intel, building up to a report of an act of such breathtaking villainy that the bad guys all have orgasms
    4. Sure they’ve found the golden ticket that will discredit the pro-democracy forces so thoroughly that no one will stop them from seizing power, the bad guys stage an extra-constitutional raid, They are certain that the raid’s illegality will be overlooked in the face of the evidence of the pro-democracy leader’s criminality. But the “evidence” that Rollin (or Cinnamon (or Rollin) has told them about isn’t there. In fact, it doesn’t exist
    6. The villains are exposed before the whole country and indeed, the world, as power-hungry jackals who will stop at nothing to get their own way.
    7. The IMF agents disappear into their waiting car as the camera zooms in on the frustrated, enraged and dismayed faces of the villains.
    8. The republic is saved

    The End

The worst part about all this is that no matter which path this takes, the globalists win. It’s all about taking the USA off the throne of world hegemony, so the WEF and their UN lackeys can run things however they want
    1) Violent “internal conflict” – America turns inward for a few years while we sort things out, exits world stage, globalists win. USA exits, ceases to exist, new entity may or may not care about world hegemony (our Founding Fathers didn’t want it). Might actually be the best option, long term.
    2) Nonviolent amicable separation of once again sovereign states – USA ceases to exist. My personal preference. Nobody wins a bloody one.
    3) Total economic collapse – USA loses ability to use economic or military power to influence world events. Worst option.

All 3 are victory conditions for globalists.
And let’s not forget, Revelations never talks about America being around at the end.

Globalists won’t win. they can’t. Globalism doesn’t work. Oh, sure, they may think themselves the victors over the short term, but it’s not sustainable. People don’t work that way.

Trouble is, Globalists tend to be sociopaths, and their worldview ends at themselves. They may consider it victory if the whole Babel’s tower doesn’t fall in on itself until after they, personally, are dead.

And therein lies the rub. Victory conditions differ depending on who or what you are.
