The term “Frankfurt school” pretty much says it all. As Eric Hoffer pointed out, a certain class of academics suffers from “status inconsistency syndrome”, the belief that they should be more powerful, influential, respected and etc. than they actually are.

(The same holds true for many “UFO contactees” and other UAP true believers.)

Not getting the power they believe they are entitled to through the existing structure, they seek out foreign influences which “tell them what they want to hear”. The Frankfurt school is just one example.

Religion, at least in its Judeo-Christian form, doesn’t really enter into it. Most raised as observant Christians or Jews have thrown over such by the time the receive their college degrees; put simply, they consider themselves too “enlightened” to believe in any sort of deity unless it’s one they invent themselves. (Yes, atheism is one such “deity”.)

They are often quite proud of how much they despise “superstitious peasants”, even ones whose beliefs they grew up in.

    Their attitude was best summed up by Pinhead’s (Doug Bradley) famous line from Hellraiser III;

Do I look like someone who cares what God thinks?

I worked at a University. I conquer. They also think that they are too intelligent to be taken in by propaganda, thereby making it easier to be taken in.

Depending upon what conspiracy theory one espouses it may well be.

To, as some will say, pick a nit: We do not refer to the raid on Pearl Harbor as “12/7.” Should not the worst attack against this Nation receive the same consideration? “September 11th” is much deserved . . .

Me too. 25 years later, one whole generation. Look at how much we’ve forgotten since then.

I was in the shower when my wife told me an airplane had crashed into the World Trade Center. I rushed to watch the TV, where the commentators we discussing possible pilot error. I was confused because I saw only one tower. Just as I mentioned that there should be two towers, the second tower collapsed. I told my wife I had to get to work, since I worked for J.P. Morgan, which was based in Manhattan. I heard a lot of patriotic talk all over the radio that week, and “we’re all Americans now”.

Two days later, I found out that I’d lost a former colleague from NJ on Flight 93, Ed Felt. His brother Mark Felt went on to become something of a spokesperson for Flight 93 families for a while.

As I say, we’ve forgotten a lot from just one generation ago,

I heard about the first plane hitting the first tower just as I was leaving home heading for work. Eh, no big deal, I mean major bummer for the people on board and below on the ground, based on how it was reported I assumed it was a Cessna or similar.

When I got to the office I found out the truth. The boss had a small portable TV. He brought it out to the front counter. We didn’t get much done that day.

I’m sorry to have to report that “We’re our own worst enemy.” is a true statement of the human nature and condition.
It is a constant struggle to drag ourselves out of this mud of our own making.
It doesn’t help to have people deliberately making more mud in the belief that it is only “fair” that we should all be as muddy as possible.
Fortunately, we do have a history of at least partially getting clean; we need only seek it out, study it, apply it, and try to improve further.

Hey, remember a few decades ago, when politicians of all parties included “Member, Council on Foreign Relations” as a brownie point on their resumés. and nobody cared to worry about exactly what it meant?

I remember puffs of smoke and bricks at a rapid pace from the top floors to the street. Two or three rows on each face. There was weeks of discussion of how kerosene could melt structural steel. Luckily no Jews reported for work
    that day.

I have noticed (maybe wrongly) a possibly
anti-Jewish slant here in this unique, column
where we can spout our personal thoughts.

When I lived in California, down around Melrose
Ave. and in Hollywood, (I lived in the beach area)
it was said that Jews were arrogant and pushy.
      Well, maybe so;

Now one of my best friends (still) is a Jew, but
an American Jew, no problem with pork or any
of the other forbidden foods etc. and, does not
support Israel. (like how come Mandani got elected)
They would have had that scumbag Cuomo if the
Jews had been together; at least he`s not a Commie.

I see the situation as Re: Republicans
who dont stick together; a Demoncrat`s next
door neighbor is running for office, and he just
offended my wife, (or who ever) well Im still
gonna vote for him,and worry about the small
      shit later.

Republicans do not stick together, and give it
      away because of that.

Israel is the only country in the world that
      represents our values.

By the way, AOC and Mandani are seen laughing
together at the Memorial svc. today, maybe AI,
but it would not surprise me.
