Since this references George Orwell’s book “1984” I wonder how many young people, as is under 50, will get it and read it? (Ministry if Truth).

The big impediment is the word “Read”. They do not have the attention span to read a novel. Let alone the “Critical Thinking” to see it happening all around them. Everyone lays the whole Nazi movement reaching critical mass on just Hitler. There was a lot of people wanting it to happen, just as there is now. A lot of people want a totalitarian one world government. Cuz they will be one of the elites running it. Or so they think.

I saw the 1956 film with Edmund O’Brien when I was 8. (I was home with the mumps and the local TV station ran it as an afternoon movie.) Scared the hell out of me. A few years later I read the book, and it scared hell out of me again. Now I see the Progs using it for a game plan. Be afraid, be VERY afraid! And keep your powder dry!

Samantha Powers, promoter of the Duty to Protect, used famously to rip Libya asunder, get Khadafi slaughtered (no tears there), and the resultant turmoil, was one of many enemies who are back in power with the unconstitutional November Democrat Coup. That non treaty progressive creation is also what gives Putin all the reasons he could have wanted to protect the Russian ethnics in Ukraine. The reasons for that disaster for humans has many reasons beyond that one

Maybe free speech will return someday. We always can do it in our daily lives. Unless some lose their jobs or shut up to not make waves.

Best description of this asylum of lunatics, yet. And oh so stolen. The only problem is that Obama, like Biden*, is a figurehead, and we still don’t know who was or is running the country.

OTOH, perhaps it should be Czar Obama Retards.

      to eventually vote down Americans

Force of habit is hell of a drug. Specifically, sedative.
Why would an oligarchy in power want to “vote down” you or anyone else NOT in power? That’s just not how this works. An you know it.
      1. In a “Modern Regime” elections shuffle only mostly-decorative positions that exist at all as an atavism or facade. The real power is affected by those elections very little. As Trump’s rather clever provocations demonstrated not so long ago. If the President can be blocked almost completely and so easily, do the common “representatives” even matter? Thus, very little of real power remains there, and so far it was steadily eroding it, why and how could this trend reverse?
      2. It’s easy to both predict and observe that the elected Great Figurehead and mini-figureheads in a parliamentary system of the Party Machines stage or later mostly do what they are told by their handlers. Wasn’t there a vote where all “representatives” in USA voted unanimously except 2 (two) True Believers of the opposite creeds: Paul and Sanders? So, if the butt for which you voted lands in that seat… Hurrah! Wait, do you expect the result to affect anything? Why?
      3. Stalin once said (per his then-secretary Bazhanov): “it’s not important who and how votes, but what is very important is who and how counts the votes”. This was demonstrated once again not so long ago. So, in a rare case it actually matters, well… I guess, Facehug could ban mentions of some statistical law again. What of it?

Summary: Little real power remains there. To reach it, you would have to somehow elect people able and willing to use it the way you want… and also willing to have anything to do with this mess (where would you find them?). And if such an anomalous case is in sight, your vote would count only if those who do the count allow it.
So, why would the ruling class jump any hoops to… “vote down” someone?
And, for that matter, why do you want to vote in the first place? The only real effect is another splash of paint at the facade of legitimacy on this circus. It’s rotten. Why not just let its last support beams rot through and fall?

HUH? “Maybe free speech will return someday”

I was unaware free speech ever departed the USA. I have always stated my opinions freely on any number of venues and in public speech. Yes, some of my discourses have been censored by the Lamestream Media; however, I continued to speak out and have not suffered any harm other than being called a “fool” and many foul things by Leftists on public venues.

Also, I notice public platforms like “Day By Day” have not lost their punch over the years…Yes, the Left has tried for decades to end free speech in this country with the result they have only INCREASED their opposition in the New Media of Internet a thousandfold.

American Patriots are like the ancient Roman Republicans in many ways – they seemingly suffer defeat after defeat, but they keep on coming. For instance in Rome’s many wars against Greece, the Greek king Pyrrhus remarked after one such costly battle against the Roman Legions, “Another such victory will finish Greece.”

“THESE are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.

Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.

What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated…” — Thomas Paine

      Many great points, RONBO.
The increase in knowledge transfer by the internet is wonderful. Control of information dissemination has had great consequences. Certain bits of important information are repressed and gaslighted.
The facts of Benghazi were available from some sources on the internet within 72 hours. Then crushed most everywhere else. Czar Obama would not have won reelection had legacy media, or even much alternate media discussed the facts. The events in China and later around the world about covid were repressed. The export of gain in function research and development away from the USA where it was banned was repressed. Fauci, China, Ukraine, and others elsewhere had labs doing that gain of function work. Basic facts about the supported invasion called migration here and in Europe were also controlled and spun. Across all policy, laws, financial, economic, and other important areas, the public discussion has been guided. Twitter has that $17 million dollar per year information controller that must have been doing something. Biden’s handlers have what they deem disinformation targeted with a Czar Obama Retread named to guide that battle.
Those who speak their mind support what gives us the information we need and thrive on and make good choices with. And they must be supported.
We do not want Pyrrhic victories. Our victories will not be cheap. Many insult the value of what our people have created at a dear cost. They want control, and say our keeping what we ave is such control on them. It denies their tyrrany. Freedom is dear. It’s defense not done enough to not be seen as dear. Normalcy bias lowers the value of freedom, until it becomes obviously dear. often by experiencing its lack.
Fighting evil is done in many ways. Sometimes one has to leave, as an ancestor left for America in 1690 after his side lost a major battle.
In Europe my tribe was forced to fight a war they did not want. Fighting the Soviets was OK. The two Home Armies told the SS general tasked with razing Warsaw and all in it that they would not fight the Polish uprising. Assigned to seal off half of Warsaw they went through the moves and provided support like Ukraine is getting now. All of their unregistered weapons and ammo picked up on battlefields was delivered to the Polish. Passage was assisted for all injured and civilians that desired to leave Warsaw. Medical care, food, water and what aid they could give was done. The SS figured it out and in that and other skirmishes many died. The expected 6 day crushing of the uprising took at least 10 times as long. The Soviet red Army all the while has stopped 10 kilometers outside of Warsaw and did not attack. The tribal government attempted to swtch side and contacted the allies with diplomatic requests to do so. Other diplomatic issues like Stalin desiring to place his own hand picked Polish government in power and the later switching of sides by Romania were desired by the allies. The Home armies returned to defend the home after the evil deeds were done. Defying the SS reduced the damage to the people of Warsaw. Switching sides without a formal govern agreement would have opened the reserve Home Army soldiers open to summary execution by either side for violating the rules of war. Stalin killed millions of captured soldiers as it was.
There are many more people now. Things are complex though the base ideas remain the same. The opposition to evil was still too isolated and made mistakes that a legitimate cold consideration of the facts would have likely changed their strategy. We neemore communication and consideration as to which paths to follow beyond the start of standing up to evil when we see it. The Pre Revolutionary War committees of correspondence did such consideration. That was with letters and meetings.
      Good critique and excellent ideas.
Free speech is still limited from where much discussion has moved to from the town square and other one on one type areas. I am not the guy who can buy a $44Billion speech vehicle, nor can I joke about next I am going to buy Cocacola and put the cocaine back into it.

Yes. We suffer defeat after defeat, and we need to keep on going with the victories we get..

Yeah, many of the founders specifically rejected the party system and wanted to see an America without political parties. But it’s not possible — human nature abhors this particular political vacuum.

“The division into whig and tory is founded in the nature of men; the weakly and nerveless, the rich and the corrupt, seeing more safety and accessibility in a strong executive; the healthy, firm, and virtuous, feeling confidence in their physical and moral resources, and willing to part with only so much power as is necessary for their good government; and, therefore, to retain the rest in the hands of the many, the division will substantially be into Whig and Tory.”

The ballot process is now not transparent, and who is casting a secret vote on a ballot is unknown.
We do not know who is voting, and we do not know how that vote is counted, or even if the vote is on a legitimate ballot by a legitimate voter. (Stalin. Who counts the votes is important.)

Orwell’s “1984” was penned by the author to serve as a cautionary tale … a warning to societies to eschew statism.

To the Progressives and their ilk, “1984” is an instruction manual … a how-to book to achieve their social utopia and lust for power.

To borrow from the MAGA slogan … we need to MOFA.

Orwell admitted in an interview that many parts of 1984 were not, in fact, fiction, but that many of them described activities in which he actually participated as “Big Brother’s” enforcer in a British colony. Specifically including the rat-cage torture scene.

A couple a mornings ago I was, again, lamenting what happened to coffee a decade or so ago. I remember walking into a Starbucks with coffee being consumed at every table. I couldn’t smell the coffee. Asking why there was no aroma of one of the servers he said there were some complains and the formula had to be changed. Sounded bogus so I did some research. Over the course of 5 or 6 years the countries famous for good coffee beans – you remember Juan Valdez – which had supplied 90% of America’s coffee had their quantity of total coffee imports drop to 5 or 10%. With no shortage of coffee to drink where’d the beans come from? The best tasting coffee is grown on mountains. They will grow almost anywhere but the flavor disappears. The answer was a growth of from 5% to 85% of our coffee coming from Vietnam.
What happened to Juan? Remember the move to adequate pay for coffee harvesters? They lost their jobs. But they’re fulfilling another destiny. They’re marching to America to balance the voter rolls.
Yea, it does seem a stretch, but the timing all fits. And who could possibly have so much control of world finance and migration world wide and be able to bring all this together?
All because someone didn’t like the smell of coffee – in a Starbucks.

And the World’s turned upside down. Latest rumor from Politico is that a draft decision written by Justice Alito has been leaked – a decision that overturns

    ROE V WADE

    (dum dum da)

Who believes Politico? But if this pans out, the day the decision is effective is the day 26 states invoke their anti-abortion “trigger laws”. These laws have banned or severely restricted the practice of abortion, to become effective the day that Roe v Wade is overturned. Twenty-six state legislatures need do nothing. An abortion made illegal that day, if performed, will be a felony for the abortionist. This is a crisis more significant than any since at least the 2020 theft of a presidential election.

To think that Joe Biden could be remembered primarily as the President under whom Roe v Wade was upended. Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow has already thrown the first of likely many hissing fits.
