The perpetual con job of the left is: “Trade us your freedom for security.”

When the mainstream media streams images of violence, it’s not that the potential democrat voters revalue their freedom, it’s just that they no longer believe the false and empty promises of security.

Ammo IS trading currency with great fungibility too.

ALL prep supplies become currency when what one person has another person wants but can’t get through normal channels…supply/demand.

Ammo, guns, food, gas, power, housing, silver, gold, medicines…all wampum when the SHTF, but present their own set of security issues for those who are holding them when the zombie throngs come out of the cities and into your town.

So don’t trade away your ammo (you want other stuff not useless paper) unless you intentionally stored much more than you can use specifically for that purpose. People who do that are roundly ragged on for hoarding and creating a shortage or else are praised as a visionary savior for having the foresight and putting up the capital. Both are accurate really as panic does cause unnecessary hardship as we saw with frickin’ toilet paper etc., but it’s hard to criticize raw capitalism too, place your bet, lay down your money and you deserve a profit. I won’t make a call either way on that, as I was accused by some of profiteering on “high capacity” magazines during the Clinton ban, which I did…$80 for $10 magazines? I’ll take it, and I had drawers full of them as a long term FFL.

This go around with ammo applies to me too but not for the above reasons so much; when I took over Tommy’s shop that I helped him start several years earlier when he went back to be head of CSI at the Sheriff’s office…he catered mostly to LE so a ton of duty gear and lots of obscure ammo. Plus my own stashing added to what I already had added to Tommy’s inventory left me with more than I can use…even including unopened cartons of Uzi machine gun/rifle ammo.

Unfortunately I fear the time will come for me to share either for profit from them that have something I need and that
they can spare, or gratis to some who are in dire need.

      But not yet.

This is currently an area where people don’t intrude upon others unwanted. For good reason. And there would be no Marxist Supporting Media CNN (Communist News Network) around to report anything.

      • August 28, 2020 at 5:11 pm

No intention to mislead, been retired from the “place I have to go and shit I have to do” twice, in ’08 and in ’16 but I will never not do things that are necessary, fun, and profitable, all of which my post-retirement activities involving shooty stuff and all of the precious metals definitely are.

Not that that is much different than what I did and advised before…from the old dead blog late 2008:

        https://poetnthepawnbroker.blogspot.com/2008/11/how-to-have-fun-and-profit-from-obama.html

And back then I thought things were just about as bad as they could be…not.

      • August 28, 2020 at 5:22 pm

And seeing the “about” blurb on the old blog where it says “just turned 65” reminded me that as of today I have “just turned 66”. Gotta go fix that. I’m normally not too excited about adding another year but here lately it translates to “another year closer to gone” which I don’t mind too much.

But not quite yet……calls, cards, and gifts from all the young’uns and my favorite meal from my girl (about ready and smelling great!).

So for now y’know, happy bday jtc, things could be worse!*

And will be come November if you know what happens…then I’ll be quite ready to shuffle on off this mortal coil. God prevent it though, can’t stand to leave my babies in that world.

Fair enough, JTC. So what is a 3-pound bag of flour worth? A 1 pound box of salt? 2 boxes of baking soda or baking powder? A 2-pound bag of sugar?

This is what I mean by trading ammo used as currency.

I won’t say this recent rampaging is just a sample, but there are practicalities involved, some going on now.

Cops in Port5land are now cracking down on protesters – duh. Dems seem to have put out an urgent message to stop the rioters and clean up cities. This coincides with the Kenosha, WI, bidness this past week. That unexpected event (2 dead, 1 injured) happened because rioters turned on the shooter, thinking he was The Enemy when he was there as a street medic. He is in deep, deep trouble.

And now, the Dems look really, really bad.

There is a real disturbance in this cesspool.

Barter is barter. The products are irrelevant except to the party who wants/needs it more than the other party does. Supply/demand in the raw, the basis of capitalism and free trade. A box of .22 for a bag of sugar? Way too much if you don’t have much .22 but a real bargain if you have cases of it and a sweet tooth. Supply/demand.

Pelosi installed as president by coup? Never happen, too many even on the left hate her zombie self worse than Biden.

Much worse scenario: Biden “wins” by hook and crook which is devastating enough, but his meds will be withheld or replaced and then he will be withheld and replaced…not by Nanny but by Camela who chooses Mo as her vice and the plan continues until that simian takes the big desk in ‘24 or before. And that whole scheme would be rabidly embraced by all on the left and pathetically, many on the right.

      And then? Game over y’all.

        That is completely incorrect.

You were supposed to learn this in high school. Shame on you.

The succession if the president becomes incapacitated is Vice President assumes the role of President, the Speaker of the House (Pelosi) stands in as Vice President, to become President if necessary, and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate (McConnell) is next in line.

Harris cannot name anyone to be “her veep”, period.

Better go back an find out how Gerald Ford got into office… the only way the Speaker takes over is if the President and Vice-President are incapacitated at the same time.

I guess I went to a better school than you all did.

        Current order of succession:
The table below details the current presidential order of succession as established by the 1947 presidential succession statute as amended.[1][2] The order is determined by the offices. However, the individual in an office must still satisfy the constitutional requirements for the office in order to serve as acting president.[3] In the table, the absence of a number in the first column indicates that the incumbent is ineligible, and an italicized number indicates that the incumbent’s eligibility is uncertain. In such cases, a note explains the detail.

        No. Office Incumbent Party
1 Vice President Mike Pence Republican
2 Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi Democratic
3 President pro tempore of the Senate Chuck Grassley Republican
4 Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Republican
5 Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin Republican
6 Secretary of Defense Mark Esper Republican

Yes, I know about the 25th Amendment. Selected Veep is Veep IN NAME ONLY. Less authority than a box of dog biscuits.

Who succeeded Nixon when he was forced to resign? And why?

Ah! Well, now see that’s where the fun begins. The 25th makes it seem that an endless line of Veeps can be installed, but that’s incorrect. The 1947 Order of Succession statute supercedes the 25th Amendment. So you see, if Spiro Agnew had not been forced to resign, Gerald Ford might not have become such an object of derision by the news media.

The 1947 Order of Succession stands on its own put in place by the death of FDR.

And frankly, even though Pelosi is a control freak and a pit viper, I would rather see her in the Oval Office than any of those malfunctioning scumbags that follow Harris around like salivating, slobbering hyenas.

Oh, wait a minute! That’s an insult to hyenas. Okay, how about “salivating, slobbering pond scum”? But even pond scum serves a purpose. “Slithy toves”, perhaps?

Imagine being so tribal that you’re willing to burn down cities as a political distraction so people don’t accidentally realize the administration in both the cities and the states are part of the problem…

Imagine being such an uninformed citizen that you continue to vote in the same administration who offer the same lame non-solutions and things keep getting worse… yet you vote for them again…
