Rather than FBI he should just put “Federal Government Service with High Security Level Clearance” Details are “Classified” and a Start and Stop date. And if anyone needs more information, he should ask what is your clearance level? Do you have a need to know? Are you willing to sign a NDA? Do you have a Secure Briefing room? Depending on what they are trying to hire him for, they may just move on to the next question. Some times the best answer is ” I can not answer that question, you do not have the Clearance Level or the Need to Know”

Or just the old BS standby for self-important expendables…

“I could tell ya but then I’d have to kill ya.”

What a crock. From what we’ve seen of the caliber of the spooks and fibbers even -or especially- at the highest levels, it’s them what can’t be trusted with any important info because they’ll just try to find a way to use it against you. Eff ’em. No clearances needed to mend a fence and do some Q.

I just had a chance to respond to that with, “Sounds like it could be worth it, go!” 😉
They apparently didn’t really want to tell me, or kill me. Thank goodness! LOL

What I’d like is one of those little cards that says “Do not detain, search, or question.” Or something like it. The Constitution takes them too long to read.

Got a chance to do the “You do not have the Clearance Level” once when I worked at an airport. The low-level boss complained to the Airport Manager to fire me. The manager said, “Well, his clearance is higher than mine.” Which it was.

I had a similar issue with a former division director of my present employer. He didn’t like that there was a ‘hole’ in my resume for work I did with a defense contractor. He kept demanding that I bring him up to speed on my work back then.

I told him he had neither the clearance or a need to know. He didn’t take the hint and kept pressing and digging for months. It finally led to a federal agent from Not-The-FBI making a visit to tell him to drop it.

He finally got the hint…and he left me alone from that point on.

He was later ‘let go’ by my employer, though I have no idea if that little ‘misunderstanding’ had anything to do with it.

After retiring/transferring from the Reg Force military to the reserves, I applied for another Federal department.
One of the criteria for the job was to ‘be able to attain a security clearance’… at the lowest level possible, one step above ‘cleared to rumour’.
I politely told the interviewer that if that was the clearance she held she wasn’t really cleared to know what mine was but told her anyway.
Her reply was “but you need this level of clearance” and couldn’t wrap her head around the part where I already held a much higher one and only the exact name of the one she blindly quoted would suffice.
I ended up having references and neighbours called to ‘verify’ me, my ex-superiors in the Military didn’t believe it until they called me to confirm it 😉

        We danced around the
“you need to have an ’emergency’ first aid certificate”
“but I have an advanced certificate”
        “but you need emergency”
“emergency is the lowest, advanced is the highest”
“you need to have an emergency certificate”
until someone else finally convinced her I was, in fact, qualified.

Ran into the same thing with various managers over the next 24 years, we’re producing mindless drones who can’t think past the words written on the paper anymore and most times can barely read that, let alone comprehend what they’re reading, and that’s the way the liebrals want it.
It’s easier to control people who can’t or won’t think for themselves but blindly follow orders without question.

Sadly, that is so accurate it brought tears to my eyes…ran across many of those types. “By the book, no deviation allowed.” They are in all walks of life, too many at high level (Miley comes to mind).

Sad to say that’s what our government education system is geared to produce. People in “my time” scratched their heads wondering how the Nazis came to power and kept it. The Germans were simply a couple of generations ahead of us.

Not all of us fit into that rather broad category, Drew. Being not-FBI, I did have contact with them a time or three. Wasn’t impressed. Today they are even worse…Biden’s Pretorian Guard. I wouldn’t give them with a used condom…or just maybe I would.

I’m a retired Fed … from the Federal Bureau of Prisons; worked closely with the US Marshals, ICE, Border Patrol, occasionally FBI, even IRS CID and State Department.

They were all good people back in the day … patriots; anti-terror, also going after bank robbers, fugitives, NAMBLA, human traffickers, drug traffickers. Even the IRS special agents were after money launderers for terrorist cells, mafia families and drug cartels.

Truth be told … Eric Holder went on a hiring spree during the Obama era, with an emphasis on left wing SJW types all of whom are now embedded throughout the USDOJ and the rest the subsidiary alphabet soup agencies. These embedded Obamabots are now littered throughout the federal government, now at higher and higher management and supervisory positions.

They were the ones leaking info against DJT and opposing him at every turn from within the bowels of the federal executive agencies …

This is the true essence of the Deep State … most of whom were recruited and hired by Obama and his minions.

My father once told me of his post-WWOne service: After mustering out he learned to tell possible employers he worked on his family farm for those “missing” years. Evidently it was the same for the Vietnam Vets, too.

My father’s age cousin was a former FBI agent. He even worked on the Manhattan Project. When meeting one of the scientists later in his life, the scientist exclaimed “oh, you were one of those sneaky btards always checking up and watching us.’ The former FBI agent told me that story. I once concluded a discussion with him and my father about how the FBIer was as full of himself as my father.
After the Vietnam action (did we declare war?) I found myself hiring many people that I knew, or people I knew knew, from high school or neighborhoods for very short times until they got themselves jobs more fitting of their capabilities. We were not a big company, but only the utilities and a handful of companies were older, so we were a respectable reference. (I couldn’t use that as I was running it. Few want to hire a boss, for various reasons.)
A little help can go a way to people sometimes.
Now that I think about I, it was like hiring people to mend fences and cook Q. I never considered it brain surgery. (We did work for NASA in the past. Low tech. Not rocket science.) As to security, the only time I ever was rejected was when, after decades of walking throughout the airport and port with no one ever challenging me, a customer requested I get an airport ID. They summarily rejected it. I sent another letter revealing my past access, why I needed it, education, and people that I worked with. I needed access without escort as I occasionally had to design low tech solutions to some problems and then have workers install what I had designed. The installers got cards with no problem. I knew people at the top or close to it in those authorities. I did not bother them for such a trivial matter. Closet minded bureaucrats were never great fits when I had direct interaction. I wrote to them and had others deal with them. I did keep many municipal bureaucrats out of jail by giving advice at the locals bar where the owner was a good friend.(I stood up and walked behind him ready to handle unruly “patrons” who had threatened to badly hurt him. Bikers included.) After he died and the bar closed and a few years passed, many newer local bureaucrats were nailed by the FBI for doing what I had told the earlier bureaucrats not to do. The FBI are not always bad these days. There are good people in there in spite of the rot at the top. I have known good FBI people. Also a high school friend’s dad was a local head of the office.
Like Zed does, all have to ultimately be judged individually.
The Veritas raid, the Stone battalion style strike action with air and water support to handle a supposedly dangerous about 80 year old man (yes an asshole, but he did a lo of good) and his cancer stricken wife in the early hours of the morning with CNN already set up to catch the created “news” (he had offered to meet them), the list goes on. The FBI is the tool of bad people in our government.
My cousin, despite his full of himself asswipeness, was basically honest and could give an accurate assessment of the law and proper behavior. What I used to believe the FBI was is not what it is now. Or maybe I was misinformed when I was younger. If the FBI were up to the great standards they are supposed to be, the current problem would not exist.

      Yes. They are.
In Afghanistan The faithful own all that blasphemers have, including the blasphemers life. That is Sharia. Removing the blasphemers treasures (accumulated capital) is allowed and even blessed by Allah.

In the USA all everyone owns is owned by the state and removing everything from those not following the dogma of socialism and communism is allowed.
The comments in that article can often and easily be applied to the USA. Control is most important to both dogmatic groups.
I fall back on statements by Pelosi and Feinstein made in San Francisco when they were younger to a person who they though would do well in the democrat Party. Upon being asked about an instructor teaching that it doesn’t matter what someone is told to get them to support and to vote Democrat, just get to support and vote, they responded that the important issue is to gain power. With power they can then do what they want. The democrat Party fits that bill. It explains how the Party can adopt issues to get and keep power, then abandon what they said they would do and do what they whilst at any time they desire to do so.
Their underlying dogma is do what is necessary to do what they see as what must be done. Islam runs the same way. Islam and the ‘left’ act the same way. When an ‘idea’ like antifa was needed again, they trotted it out. All accumulated capital, things or people, are subject to their will, is their belief.
