Why? Why couldn’t it just be that he’s really a big gov’t “conservative” like the man who appointed him, who really wants universal provision (healthcare, welfare, old age subsidy) from the government to “succeed”?
I think if there were blackmail involved, he would have ruled against the 2d and natural marriage, as well. (This administration has NOT been known for their subtlety.)

The reason why blackmail is a very real possibility is because the June 2012 decision was originally written by Roberts for a defeat of ObamaCare, and then suddenly he changed course and flipped to the liberal side and hastily wrote the new majority opinion.

And as for any possible motives and reasons behind Robert’s statism, I DON’T CARE! All I care about is the RESULTS. Dead is dead, no matter the reason why, be it love, hate, religion, sudden passion, long time planning.
This is why I find the concept and practice in “law” (gag! puke!) of “hate crime”, “hate speech”, even “hate THOUGHT” such a travesty.
