I’m thinking “Dog ate my homework” here. We were all in our late teens once, and likely came up with improbable explanations for patently obvious scenarios.

One of many–one of our girls was quite sweet on a very nice young man, both 18+ by that time. Wife and I were out hunting in the East Mojave for a few days–200 miles away–but due to snow falling that weekend (in southern California, no less) we headed home a day early, arriving home about 10:30 P.M. Mother Nature took her course in our absence, and as we parked in the driveway our daughter’s man bailed out of her bedroom window and ran to his car parked down the street. So subtle. Wife was FURIOUS–I told her “We did the damn things at their age, don’t embarrass them–they’re adults.” 8 months later, we welcomed a grandson who turns 18 in May. He’s awesome, just like his Mom and Dad.

So, to me the young man sounds like a well bred and well raised fellow. His manners led him to keep his upper head uncovered in the presence of the young lady, and his modesty led him to cover the other. His ingenuity and youthful hormones provided a way to keep it in place, freeing his hands to enter his contact info into the young lady’s phone. Parents should keep in mind, he put his contact info into her phone, not his DNA some where else.
