I saw a newspaper article about 6 months ago about a couple that got pulled over for doing a 69 in a 50 MPH zone. Yes they were fully engaged while they car was going down the highway.

Hmmm… Let’s see, back in 1976 I used the trunk lid of a 65 Plymouth Sport Fury for such purposes.

It also can be done in a CJ-5 Jeep if she’s flexible, very flexible.

It can even be managed in a rumble seat…while moving. Plus the added benefit of having her as a windbreak.

Not on THAT hump-backed excuse for a trunk…

Might as well just assume the vertical position.

Which can be rather fun if strenuous for those younger and still stronger ones, if I recall correctly.

Ohhh…well that would only be clear to those who reject that thing of Kiko’s as even being a Caddy, but heck yeah that block-long hand-me-down from Jack to Jack has acres of flat sheet metal on the deck lid…

Still liking/reminiscing on the standing position though, she be all legs locked and hanging on tight! At least that’s the way I remember it.

        John M,

Why use the trunk lid of the De Ville when the interior is far larger than most New York City apartments.

Jack’s Caddy was manufactured before ZIP Codes were introduced in July of 1963. Otherwise, it would have come with at least two as standard equipment.

Nah. Try the back seat of a 64-and-a-half Mustang.
Yeah, I know. But this one was hand built on the shutdown line during the change-over to 65. AND titled as such a year.
The better one was the 67 Shelby Mustang with the rear seat folded down and the lid to the trunk open. More stretch-out room.

        MadCat,

Had to be on the bonnet. If you tried it inside a Jaguar, the Lucas systems would either neuter you or kill you.

One of the funniest tropes in Gumball Rally was the Jag that would not start.

It amazing how much room there was in the back of a ‘63 Valiant station wagon [with back seat folded down]. Oh yeah, and for hauling the V6 was pretty awesome.

And how long will “9 months or less” translate to in comic time for us attention-span limited readers, I wonder (after all, one can only drool so long…).

And, will currently-wincing-Zed have to turn bold-and-forthright-midwife to his own daughter with an unexpected water-breaking moment out in the ranch fields away from town. I imagine those fence-mending skills might come in handy for other purposes than keeping the cattle in and the gate working properly and Jack in line…

Oh yeah! Saw a ’70s corvette in a park right outside the airport while I was facing it repairing a light fixture in a bucket truck. Roofs were off and a woman’s whole upper torso was out above the roofline facing forward. Bouncing up and down. She waved and was grinning ear to ear. Her top was bouncing up and down on the windshield roof edge in an intriguing manner to top it off.

Fun flick about real though clandestine events held every so often way back when – a coast to coast rally. One scene in the movie pertains a bit to today’s DBD:

      – Girl in Porsche to two dudes in pick-up: “If you can catch me, you can have me!”
      – Porsche zooms away but dies a few miles later (Hey, it’s a Porsche – they used to spend more time in the repair shop then the owners garage)
      – Two dudes drive up to the pulled-over Porsche.
      – Dudes and girls disappear into the nearby cornfield.

      cb,

Had a classmate at the Boat School with one of those Ramblers with the lay down front seats and a that semicircular pit for a back seat.

Used to regularly loan it out on weekends.

It rarely left the parking lot.

Extremely low mileage, but the shocks and suspension were all worn out.
