Quiet can be good Donald, as in the old actions speak louder than words thing. You should try it sometime.

  • March 20, 2023 at 1:54 am

Being quiet never got him anything but called low energy.

    • March 20, 2023 at 8:44 am

Nobody ever called him that, how could they? Wasn’t that his name for Sorout Jen?

      • March 20, 2023 at 10:22 am

WTH? Sprout Jeb, don’t know who or what Sorout Jen is…

  • March 20, 2023 at 2:25 am

To be fair, PDT didn’t stop shit either, to all of our bewilderment. The excrement festered and metastasised, knowing it would never be prosecuted or even fired, as it carefully plotted the 2020 coup. PDT needs to explain this. That said, DeSantis seems funded by all the wrong RINOs and he has now or never to prove he’s not Uniparty. I also note he’s not out there helping Kari Lake… Advantage Trump.

It’s all moot though, as there’s no way they are going to allow a presidential election in 2014.

    • March 20, 2023 at 3:27 am

Halley, 2014, typo? if not, my teeny tiny brain doesn’t get the reference.

      • March 20, 2023 at 7:28 am

And if Kari Lake takes it to SCOTUS and loses, we’ll know before that for sure.

    • March 20, 2023 at 10:54 am

Halley, My point exactly as to the all talk from Don thing in these later years. Including now, with the rallies etc. And he ain’t about boosting Kari, he’s about Kari boosting Don. Everything he does and says is about boosting Don, not that that’s bad, it’s how you elbow your way to the top, to a point.

But not sure DeSantis deserves the sharp elbow yet; as he has not announced anything about anything other than the bidess of The Fla that I’ve seen, and as to that it’s been talk AND action. Nothing wrong with taking the money of the “others”, it’s what is attached to it that matters, and so far, again nothing. And he probably believes as I do, that there is nothing to be gained by running his gator right now or responding to DT’s attacks, quite the opposite if he is perceived to be attacking the standard bearer, and that’s the perception that Donald is preemptively but prematurely reacting to; he does NOT like to be challenged.

To rehash another platitude “silence is golden” seems appropriate right now for Ron. Not saying he or DT are the right choice for ’24 (as if it matters as you said). But this early internecine nastiness on the part of Trump toward any potential threat to his position is so 2016…effective as hell then, harmful as hell now. He and Sam should understand that and quit that shit.

    • March 20, 2023 at 3:42 pm

We now have integeral election fraud in certain swing districts and states that were stolen for demonrats in 2020, which will assuredly do it again. Maricopa county is just one example.

  • March 20, 2023 at 5:48 am

2016-20 wasn’t the same world. I suspect (and hope) that he’ll be considerably more ruthless this time around, now that he understands nobody in DC can be trusted. Expect him to go scorched earth and make serious moves to go around Congress and the press to get his message out.

    • March 20, 2023 at 12:01 pm

And his ruthlessness should be aimed squarely at the 3 letter agencies and K Street from the get-go. They are supposed to be the tools of the Presidency, but instead, by a plethora of underhanded means, have made the Presidency the tool of The Elites.
Those Elites were, once upon a time, at least guard-railed by a sense of morality with corruption in their ranks contained by their productive peers.
But this is the case no longer. The Federal Reserve has created a permanent over-class that reproduces on free money and is dominated by the crooks.
Until we End the Fed and actually make the Elites _earn_ their wealth we will be stuck with this Evil Elite in perpetual power.

Nobody is coming to save you. Get used to it.

  • March 20, 2023 at 7:39 am

So the guy Trump calls Meatball Ron, and whom he (without evidence) smeared as a groomer, is supposed to defend the man who failed to defend the J6’ers who protested on his behalf? This whole thing seems like a juvenile loyalty test.

Anyone have a list on these people being taken from FL?
    Genuinely interested question.

  • March 20, 2023 at 9:32 am

The Conservative Treehouse has long noted that DeSantis is surrounded by people from the Bush camp. So, yeah, he may already be co-opted by the Swamp. He’s been quiet lately on a number of issues.

  • March 20, 2023 at 10:32 am

PDT will not survive his arrest

  • March 20, 2023 at 10:58 am

I pray to God that doesn’t happen……if it does, the backlash and reaction will be nuclear. This country is already an open powder keg with some asshole holding a lit road flare over it. PDT being assassinated “accidentally” would be the spark that sets it off.

THIS is what the left fears the most which is why they’re jumping through their own assholes trying to disarm us……this and nothing more.

OTOH, and speaking of The Fla, a reprint of my late comment from yesterday, make of it what you will…

“30 year anniversary my Dad’s death today, so I drove the couple hours from Sebring down to West Palm Beach to visit my son and grandsons in Jupiter, then down to go see Daddy at the cemetery and talk to him for a bit at his resting place next to his beloved Mother. RIP my good loving Father.

That cemetery is on the road that leads to the Southern Blvd bridge…across which is the back side of Mar A Lago. The roadside is usually staked out with news and photog types looking into the back yard of that awesome place. But today right up to the walls and right around to the main entrance across from the Atlantic was populated by several hundred Trump supporters with signs etc and a line of traffic honking support as they passed, me included. A beautiful thing to behold.

Drove the couple miles on down narrow and congested So. Ocean Blvd to see once again the dozens of megabuck Spanish style mansions on the one side and the beautiful blue and green ocean, roiled today by unsettled weather, on the other. Turned around and drove back the same way and the windy sprinkly conditions did nothing to deter the supporters or the parade of cars and people, some hoping for an unlikely glimpse of the man I’m sure, but most showing their anger and determination at the shenanigans of those NewYawk prosecutors.

Said NewYawkers should beware The Ides of March, albeit a couple days late.”

I keep reminding myself I shouldn’t be surprised by current events since ~ Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Looking for the punchline there CM…help?

      • March 20, 2023 at 2:32 pm

        No punchline.DeSantis stepped up.

    • March 20, 2023 at 4:41 pm

Got it CM, so Red just needs to hold her for just a bit then.

      My point exactly.

      Thank you.

      • March 20, 2023 at 4:44 pm

Hold her fire that is. Zed will be glad to hold everything else… 🙂

Did DeSantis Step Up or Step In It?

Let’s wait and see what he does rather than what he says,

    • March 20, 2023 at 4:48 pm

You did read the whole “actions speak louder than words” exchange relative to RD upthread right? Quiet man until he has to speak up. Otherwise all of my skepticism as to action has been wiped away over the last five or so years.

Doesn’t make him a good prez, does make him a good man of his word.

      • March 21, 2023 at 12:29 am

Yes, and I stand by my statement. It is OK to disagree, right?

      • March 23, 2023 at 1:33 am

Absolutely; did not intend to imply otherwise.

Just a bit surprised as I can’t think of anything as to his Fla performance where his action did not match his words?

    Friday Gibson

I have been utterly pleased w/everything he’s done since he became our governor. I love Trump, but Trump didn’t fire or stop anything. He certainly didn’t fire any Soros DA’s. DBD can pretend that ending the cozy tax deal for Disney (& several other ‘special districts’ btw) was all smoke & mirrors….except I haven’t heard word 1 from Disney about our laws since Chapek opened his fool mouth.

I’m trans – I’ve known I’m trans since I was at least 5 or 6 – & been kicked out of 4 diff support groups because I refuse to go along w/the insane idea of letting freaks mutilate children or “entertain” minors at risqué drag shows that were *never* appropriate for children.

And our kids did *not* miss 3 years of school or have shitty masks grafted to their heads.

In terms of governing & improving the lives of citizens, working lasting improvements, and drastically improving the stat/gubmint he is in charge of, DeSantis has outperformed Trump by every measurable standard. He even forced New York & Massachusetts into revealing, publicly, how empty & hypocritical their rhetoric around illegal aliens has been. He killed ESG investing in this state & was instrumental in killing that damn gun shop ISO.

I joined a political party at age 55 for the first time in my life b/c DeSantis has proven for anyone w/eyes to see that Dems are utterly corrupt.

I’ll support Trump if he gets the nom, but I’ll vote for DeSantis in the primary. If it pleases a bunch of Johnny-come-latelies to call a man w/an impeccable record of passing conservative laws a RINO, feel free. I don’t think it hurts DeSantis but it destroys your credibility.
