One could say that Kevin McCarthy is the Edsel of American politics, but that would be an insult to Edsels everywhere.

McCarthy’s sole redeeming feature is that he makes Mitch McConnell look conservative by comparison.

Way past time, to the point it is useless now. Let them have their congress and their dc and their teeming cities…what it is time for (after busting out our people from their bullshit political prisons) is complete civil separation and all that that entails…CRA NOW!

Yuval Levin of NR noticed something I hadn’t thought of: no Speaker basically means no new operating Rules for Congress and C-Span is taking full advantage of it by showing the conversations going on on the floor. Now what they need are those mics with the parabolic collector to listen in.

And if you really want to blow out your morning coffee through your nose, check this out…

Frankly, I prefer McCarthy. The Idiot Five and their syndicate have no platform and don’t even have a viable alternative candidate.
On the other hand, some things that can’t get done while there’s no Speaker include
    1) Federal debt ceiling can’t be raised
    2) taxes can’t be raised
    3) spending can’t be increased
And if it lasts long enough, the Federal government would be forced to vastly curtail operations. Curtail, not close as so many sensationalist journalists and in-office politicians so loudly bleat, because existing taxes would continue to be collected, and existing spending programs would continue to spend.
On yet another hand, as long as the Idiot Five, et al., continue their ego trip, some useful things also can’t get done:
    1) reducing tax rates
    2) reallocating (tightly controlled and reduced) spending away from current welfare cages and toward securing our border
    3) supporting Ukraine seriously against the barbarian invasion
    4) (re)arming the Republic of China
    5) greatly reducing Federal regulations

The debt ceiling is meaningless if it’s routinely raised… and it’s never possible to outpace spending with increasing taxation as Biden et al have proven.

If there was even the slightest hint that McCarthy was on board for reducing taxes, reducing welfare, reducing regulations or securing the border, he would already likely have the gavel… but he doesn’t…

As far as “supporting” Ukraine, who is neither an ally or strategic partner, hasn’t the US learned it’s lesson about proxy wars? While (re)arming Taiwan is a noble goal, how about putting one’s fiscal house in order first… including restoring the strategic oil supply plundered by Biden and sold to China?

If the House is successful in investigating and proving Biden and company of illegal, illicit and/or treasonous affairs, and both Biden and Harris are removed, you want McCarthy as president? Remember, the Speaker is 3rd in line.

Question … do these Congress-elect critters get paid while this is vote-a-rama for Speaker is going on?!?

I would think that they DO NOT qualify for any federal pay as none of them are sworn in. If they are not sworn in they cannot fulfill their Constitutional duties, so therefore they cannot be paid … I would surmise.

This might be fun to watch … especially this new batch of sniveling “Gen-Z” progressives getting evicted from apartments they claim they cannot afford to pay rent on.

Now … watching these evictions would be some real popcorn entertainment.

Let the vote-a-rama go on … and on … and on.

Yeah but think about it – the Repubs have no one else to put for the position. That is how divided the party is. The only thing in the Dems favor they can at least join together for a vote. They are Sh*t people but they can get their act together enough to get things done.
