We used to store the cartridges from visiting USAF B-57’s (Canberra for the rest of us) and was on the start crew a few times, impressive and a lot faster than dragging out and hooking up the two start carts the VooDoo used.
The big question is, who is left in a high enough position in the Air Force to be able to supply the sort of aid Zed is getting who hasn’t already succumbed to the swamp?
Right after WW2, Argentina had two air forces. One equipped with second-hand RAF Meteors and Vampires, and the other, larger and highly “deniable” one equipped with significantly better unused Luftwaffe aircraft such as FW190A3, Bf109F, and even some Me262 and Do335.
They got them because Peron bought Liberty and Victory ships in French ports, ostensibly to upgrade Argentina’s merchant marine. They were loaded with “scrap metal” for Argentina’s steel industry. Which incidentally did not exist.
That “scrap metal” was mostly advanced Luftwaffe aircraft, built in French factories like Bloch and Dewoitine during the Occupation, that were still in warehouses in France, crated and ready for shipment to operational units (mainly on the Ostfront) when Germany collapsed.
As to how Peron knew what to buy and where to get it, two words; Adolf Galland. Hitler’s “fighter general” spent several happy years in Argentina basically recreating the Luftwaffe circa 1945.
Considering how badly the Galtieri regime’s air force got mauled in the Falklands 41 years ago, maybe they should have stuck to doing it Galland’s way.
“Ima prosecute your ass” What ‘Bill G’ said yesterday bears repeating: “It doesn’t matter if there is no real charge to prosecute anyone; the process will be the punishment.”
I would give them to Christmas ’24, depending on the process(es) from the month prior. If that goes as expected, I just don’t see an alternative to dragging the lot of them out in chains and put on a leaky boat to cooba.

Angola is a state prison. No one goes there on federal charges, and federal officials are protected from state charges for everything they do on the job, even actions that are illegal by both state and federal law. The only way Willis could land there is if she goes to Louisiana and gets caught in a major crime that is totally unrelated to her job. Something like drug trafficking (without building a cover of “trying to infiltrate the drug cartels) or murdering someone in a bar fight (that can’t be construed as an arrest gone wrong).
