My hips are so bad I couldn’t get a leg over the seat and sidesaddle doesn’t let you shift 🙁 the good news is that the waiting list for a new one is down to three years now, but with MAID they’ll kill you while you wait…that’s what socialized medicine is, don’t fall for it.

Years ago, I noticed there was a small advertisement in one of those cheap fliers for knives and novelty items. The ad was for a bowie knife that had the wooden handle made from one of the Liberty Trees. Every State supposedly had one of those meeting places for The Sons Of Liberty. I bought it. it was so inexpensive i couldn’t resist. Wooden case and a beautiful knife. I think it was two hundred dollars. It’s hanging next to this computer on the wall.

‘sword canes’ are illegal here but Cold Steel Shillelagh walking sticks aren’t…mine is for cultural purposes 😉
Speaking of cultural, I’ve been thinking about calling my Gerber pocket knife a ‘kirpan’ to show solidarity with the sikhs the liebrals imported…they can’t fault that.

        Sabre/epee were my preferred styles…..25yrs.

Try fighting with both. Epee w/left-hand, 3-piece Guardier grip as primary, sabre as secondary/defense-parry.

The fun is remembering ‘right-of-way’ for which weapon…….good times!! 😀

No meetings up here for Canada Day, the gov’t discourages any celebrations because it makes their imported ‘immigrants’ feel unwanted…I just hope nobody decides to mark the occasion by making your 4th of July ‘another day that will live in infamy’…wouldn’t want to see liebral politicians strain their arms patting the perpetrators on the back.

Why is it that the ones clamouring for a civil war are the ones that won’t own guns ? Once you let them take yours though…the shipping containers open and they’ll have lots…AK’s, RPD’s and RPG all stamped ‘made in Iran’.

One of the dubious advantages of having a lot of hardware and screws from ankle to knee from a Gold Wing crash 12 years ago is the need to use a cane. Mine’s nothing fancy, just a T-handled aluminum tube off the rack at Walmart- – – – -with a pound of bullet casting lead poured into the tip! It makes for a very effective “attitude adjuster”!

And being a confirmed ‘Wing-nut’ m’self, I gotta ask……how bad was the bike hurt?

And if you don’t mind, what happened? Not trying to be nosy, but many years of riding and 25+ years of emergency medicine compels me to ask!!

Ah, Wing Nuts! So many of us remember the good old days when they were actual motor cycles and not just Interstate limos. Rode one for years, for both pleasure and work, in mainly urban areas. Did undertake a few long rides back in the mid ’80’s. Good times indeed!

Had a ’77 w/Vetter Windjammer III fairing and ‘Rack Factory’ tempered aluminum/teak inlay luggage rack/back-rest. I had also installed a CB/intercom system I designed and my Bell “Star” full face was hardwired with mic and Koss headphones. PTT trigger switch was mounted on left handlebar cluster just above the clutch lever.

Have shots of me and a good friend at the Pike’s Peak Summit ’78 after I’d gotten out of the USAF.

      Good times indeed……. 😀 😀 😀

One of the guys I worked with had one with every light possible and some that shouldn’t have been, no idea how it was street legal, he took it to all the bike shows, including Sturgis, and often won or at least ended up in the top tier.

    https://nypost.com/2026/07/01/world-news/powerful-iranian-clerics-call-for-assassination-of-trump-netanyahu-send-them-to-hell/

Iran’s most senior clerics have called for the assassinations of President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, declaring the leaders mahdour al-dam — or deserving of death.

The 88-member Assembly of Experts issued a 10-point statement in which they said killing “the wicked prime minister of the Zionist regime” and “the criminal American president” was a religious duty that must be carried out “under any circumstances.”

The clerics — who are constitutionally tasked with choosing and supervising the supreme leader — wrote that the call for their assassinations that avenging the death of supreme leader Ali Khamenei was of “paramount” importance.
