President Trump is playing hardball, while the progressives are stuck losing at Pong.

A special version of Milton Bradley’s “Broadsides™” battleship game, in which he knows where the enemy ships are already.

Oh, I don’t know about that.
It seems to have served as good target practice.
Habituallinecrosser suspects that we saved a ton of money engaging the narco boat with one of the Navy’s shiny new lasers.

The scourge of piracy, the Golden Age, ended by 1795 because the pirates were either killed at sea or brought ashore before the purview of an admiralty court, tried and hanged in 24 hours at the low watermark of the shore. Due process? Maybe. Maybe not. A TOI means kintetic response now, not board, search and seize. Fk’em. They pollute our streets with a product that kills North Americans, they forfeit due process. It is a slippery slope. Bring sleds.

Back to where were were with the rum runners during Prohibition. The killer app there was cryptanalysis. The rum runner codes were used to communicate by radio; and one of America’s best cryptanalysts broke them.

And the USCG was as likely to sink a “Black” (as the boats were coded) as stop and board it.

The rum runners were armed and predisposed to shoot it out. As much with competing rum runners or would-be hijackers on shore as anybody else.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Yep, ain’t that the truth. We’ve been shot at a few times, and did NOT return fire, which happened maybe 15 years ago. The boys on that boat were not from Texas. Not my boat. But shooting TOI who fail to heed the lawful orders of duly appointed law enforcement officers, well, doom on them.

When I was in the Coast Guard, it was very disheartening to see the drug traffickers out on bond and headed back south for another load before we could even get our paperwork submitted up the chain of command.
