    Yup.

    “My vote, actually.”

Yep. Soon we’ll be voting by bullet, because the ballot is broken.

    • pyrodice

I’ve been referencing “Carcano voting machines” when explaining that the only man in living memory who knows his vote counted was Lee Harvey Oswald. He personally threw the lever and picked the president.

I miss brother Mike every day- he was one of my best friends and I miss having him to talk with.

That’s why he spiked the guns.

I believe it was a comment here that I first heard of the ‘Sipsey Street Irregulars’ and their graphic using the M1A/M14.
I had a t-shirt made using their quote (properly attributed to them) over an image of my own .300 Blackout SBR.
I’ll have to make another once my stamp arrives for my suppressor.

Unfortunately, two of those boxes seem to be broken beyond repair. When they come for your guns, give ’em the ammo first!

    • John D. Egbert

You forgot the first of the four boxes: the Soap Box . . .

      Otherwise, you’re spot-on.

      • pyrodice

Hell of it is that if you choose not to use any of the four boxes, they come up with a fifth just for you.

I heard there was a horrible incident in Florida involving a van and a crowd of Republicans being run down. Thoughts and prayers to those injured; I heard none killed.

    Stay safe, my DBD friends…

    • Old Codger

      Found it: https://www.redstate.com/bonchie/2020/02/08/breaking-man-rams-tent-holding-gop-volunteers-in-florida/

      From the piece

A man driving a brown van rammed into a tent holding GOP volunteers registering people to vote. He then left the scene while making an obscene gesture.

Police are still looking for the vehicle and it’s drive at this point.

It appears the man ran into one of the tent posts, knocked the tent over, and the volunteers scattered, leading to no one being hurt. Whether he had a motive to actually hit someone or not isn’t really clear. It’s possible he just wanted to damage the tent to send a message, but that hardly excuses his behavior and reports are that authorities are treating it as an aggravated assault. Given the gesture made and the nature of those targeted, it’s pretty clear this wasn’t an accident and that it was done because these were GOP volunteers.

The local Democratic party representative did give a statement.

Daniel Henry, the President of the Duval County Democratic Party, released a statement saying he condemns the attack: “The Duval County Democratic Party condemns this cowardly act of violence. No one’s life should be placed in danger for exercising their first amendment rights. As Democrats, but more importantly, as residents of this great city of Jacksonville, we call on our fellow citizens to act with dignity, civility and respect for one another during this election cycle and beyond. We look forward to JSO’s arrest of the perpetrator.”

This will likely receive zero mainstream media attention because of who was targeted.

      • JSStryker

They have the little bastard in custody now.

  • William Henry

It’s gonna happen soon… look at Virginia, I wouldn’t wanna be a state cop down there.

“Sheriff, why do you carry a .45″…..”Because I can’t find a .46″….the democrat party is a good reason to CC….

    • Old Codger

I disagree. I think it is a good reason to OPENLY carry. Put the fear of We the People into our would-be political masters.

      • JTC

Or, put the guns of we the people in the hands of would-be attackers and miscellaneous scum. OC is, in most contexts, stupid. YOMV.

I think maybe you like because the initials match yours.

        • Jefferson A Selvy

That is one of those evergreen arguments. Liberty means we can discuss the issue without forcing it.

    • JTC

      @noncom:

Jerry (riding in the back of a popo cruiser): “Officer, what is that, a twelve-gauge?”

      Cop: “Yeah”

Jerry: “That seems to be the most popular gauge.”

Still one of the most funny/ironic bits I ever saw on teevee.

George: “Makes the eleven-gauge look like a cap pistol!”

      • JTC

Out of order dang it…the George quote belongs after Jerry’s of course.

  • CaptDMO

Is it safe to assume that all the babes in DBD carry a double stack?

    SOTU:

“Gun rights are under siege all across our country…

…so long as I am President I will protect your institutional right to keep and bear arms.”

Dude could be coming up short (which he is not) on some of his other promises, but he’ll still be my President if he holds hard and fast to that one.

    • JTC

      “Constitutional” to “institutional”?

Tell me commies don’t live inside auto-edit.

    • Henry

Unfortunately, he’s already broken that one, too. At the end of the day, you have to remember that Trump was a lifelong Democrat in New York. He likes to spout conservative catchphrases, but he really hasn’t personally internalized the principles behind them. Still, he was the only still-lit port in a storm.

      • JTC

Henry, either you are prejudiced based on past behavior and have not been paying attention for the last few years or you don’t understand the methodology. What someone was does not limit what he is and can be.

I once believed that DT just wanted to win. But he has won me over to believe he has the strength of our convictions and the love of our country in his heart and mind…and that he is a tireless warrior for the cause.

And not just as a lesser of evils thing at all but as the best chance we have had in 40 years to reverse the decline and save our Republic for our heirs.

Oh, and notwithstanding the junk stock accessory thing which I believe we have not heard the last of, you cannot name a single thing he has done that was a negative for 2A rights.

Remember the methodology…”watch what I do and not what I say”.

  • Browncoat

I finally watched ‘Terminator: Dark Fate” this morning. There’s a scene where Schwarzenegger’s ‘Terminator’ character takes them into his gun room. The following dialogue takes place.

Dani: “You just keep these (lots of guns) around?”

Terminator: “Even without a rogue AI taking over, I calculate a 74% chance that human civilization will collapse into barbarism.
    Also… this is Texas.”

  • James F Gemind

We’re discussing items of equipment/uniforms for Militia, like coonskin caps, over in Baens Bar(Kratskeller), and I started one for Militia on a distant planet(SciFi, yeah!), where I suggested a hat made from the head of giant Praying Mantis. Someone thought it ‘Giant Mousies,’ and I figure mouse-head hats for Romney and his DNC masters would appropriate…

Could one on Liawatha, Chris? Please?

    • Henry

Stupid, arrogant legislators, thinking we need their official permission to end our own lives. What are they going to do, throw us in jail?

Recently, a friend of mind died of (let’s say) complications due to ALS. He left behind a strong, thoughtful, yet still somewhat upbeat farewell website in which he explains how helpless ALS leaves a sufferer, what a terrible death it ultimately is (think of being paralyzed, buried alive in a casket, and then drowned), and exploring the ways available to him to make his death less agonizing.

He was a person who could light up your entire day with just a visit, and I share his website with you.
