Wait a minute…is it still fake news if it’s about a fake protest? I’m confused.

And speaking of fake, there’s no way Pelosi or Mitchell really look that good.

But the redhead? They’re real, and they’re spectacular! Well, not really real, but not fake, if you know what I mean. Yeah, I’m confused. For real.

I did read the WND article. The mental state these people exhibit is as close to some kind of psychosis as you can get. Good God, what does Schumer think he’s going to do with that hammer? Whack people with it? Kindergarten teachers saying ‘kill people’?????? Someone needs to fire their asses and make sure they never get near children again.

Well, I am glad I did read that. I’m trying to understand the source of these hysterical – wait, that’s too weak a word for it. Psychotic. That’s it. I’m trying to understand the source of these psychotic disconnects from reality. It ain’t just the politicians. They’re too stupid to think these things up by themselves. Someone is feeding it to them. Some sore ass, perhaps?

Love to read lefties pundits commenting on Trump’s disturbed mind. Read Scott Adams’
blog, Dilbert cartoonist, for better analysis. Trump’s playing Go, while his opponents play checkers.

Read Adams’ blog. I hadn’t realized it but he is smack dab on target. The Prez is acting like the entrepreneur he is. He has never run a Fortune 500 company. He made his Billions in the hard scrabble world of entrepreneurs. I suspect Mark Cuban (for all he despises President Trump) made his money the same way. I loved Adams’ quote from “the smartest person he knows”.

[T]he secret to business success does NOT necessarily involve hiring the right people. We just think it does. The real secret to success is firing the people that you discover to be the wrong fit until eventually you END UP with the right people.

        The President is an expert at Xanatos Gambits;

A Xanatos Gambit is a plan for which all foreseeable outcomes benefit the creator — including ones that superficially appear to be failure. The creator predicts potential attempts to thwart the plan, and arranges the situation such that the creator will ultimately benefit even if their adversary “succeeds” in “stopping” them. When faced with a Xanatos Gambit the options are either to accept that the creator will get the upper hand and choose the outcome that is least beneficial to them, or to defeat them by finding a course that they didn’t predict.

At its most basic, the Xanatos Gambit assumes two possible outcomes for the one manipulated — success or failure. The plan is designed in such a way that either outcome will ultimately further the plotter’s goals. A more complex view is offered by the study of probability in which such a gambit is known as a Dutch Book and involves securing bets such that regardless of the outcome the bookie will always pay out less than was bet.

        http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/XanatosGambit

Everything he does is designed in such a way that no matter what the outcome, he’s going to get at least something he wants.

For instance, with the Tillerson nomination for SecState, if he got it (and he did this PM), he gets the man he wants as SecState. If the transnational progressives (hereinafter referred to as “tranzis”, after Tom Kratman) had defeated Tillerson, they’d have been seen as going scorched earth without a rational reason- thus making it that much more difficult for themselves in trying to stop his strong>next Cabinet nominee.

One of the hallmarks of a Xanatos Gambit is that the enemy can win a minor victory, not realizing they’ve just torpedoed their own endgame. (Yes, chess is full of XGs.) It’s known as the “I won five minutes ago and you didn’t notice” effect.

The way the President is doing multiple things at once with EOs and etc. is an example of Xanatos Speed Chess. Literally piling on attack after attack and overloading the OPFOR’s ability to react. By the time they’ve come up with a suitable response to a single action, they’re getting whammed by half-a-dozen more.

It’s the bureaucratic/entrepreneurial version of a sequential/simultaneous multiple-axis attack on a naval task force or convoy- see Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy and Larry Bond, or for a real-world version read At All Costs; How A Crippled Ship and Two American Merchant Mariners Turned the Tide of World War II by Sam Moses. (It’s about the Pedestal convoy to Malta and the tanker SS Ohio in August 1942.)

The President is not playing the Washington game by Washington’s rules. He’s playing it like he has done business. Like a corporate raider.

Lawyers think anything can be argued to death and that reality is negotiable.

A corporate raider knows reality is what it is. He just identifies what isn’t useful and gets rid of it.

      http://blog.dilbert.com/post/156540315831/be-careful-what-you-wish-for-especially-if-it-is
… ” If you are looking for the tells that this dangerous situation is developing, notice how excited/happy the Trump critics seem to be – while angry at the same time – that Trump’s immigration ban fits their belief system. If you see people who are simply afraid of Trump, they are probably harmless. But the people who are excited about any Hitler-analogy-behavior by Trump might be leading the country to a police state without knowing it.

      So watch for that. “

      • February 1, 2017 at 2:02 pm

A lot of truth there that should be obvious to us; self-fulfilling prophecy and that perception equals reality are not new concepts, just playing out on a much bigger stage and on a potentially catastrophic level. Beyond watching for it, expectation and preparation for it is needed now.

I disagree with Dilbert on one key point; the creation of a police state is not at all inadvertent. Leftists have been actively and intentionally doing that forever.

Under their regime the occupation and protest movements let them encourage and claim police state abuses in order to emasculate enforcement and enable their lawlessness, while under the new government that same thuggery ramped up exponentially into full-blown insurrection, enabled and encouraged by the leftist political, media, and celebriturd establishment, allows their claims of fascism and authoritarianism.

That it could result in actual domestic warfare and destruction is of absolutely no concern or import to them, if they think it means a possible path to return to their elitist utopian ideal.

Again, expect and prepare for the worst, and hope to God against it; they are not the only ones who can fulfill a prophecy.

It was a good primer anyway, how about one on why/when “J” is “H”, for instance the NFL player Julio Jones, however I think his middle initial is K, and the announcers are getting the pronunciation wrong on purpose.

      • February 1, 2017 at 10:28 am
        Old Codger

Most people know that “Julio” is pronounced “who-lio” But Jones is just Jones. It’s what comes of having names from multiple languages and cultures. Besides, as Emerson put it,

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds

“J” is pronounced “H” in Spanish names. Unless it is a place name in an English speaking state. “Waco” should be “huah-co” but in Texas it’s “way-co”. The city at the western most point of Texas (which by rights ought to be Tey-hahs) should be “el pah-so” instead of “el pass-oh”.

Sometimes I think they ought to rename the whole state where you find Los Angeles (not los ahn-hel-ees) to “Waco” but make the first syllable rhyme with “hack”. 😉

If anybody tries to correct my pronunciation, I just reply “Hey! I’m a bolillo (means a white dinner roll). What do you expect?”

Funny story: Once I was working as a tech in a small computer store. The other tech, Richard, had an Anglo surname but since his mother was Mexican, he looked very much Hispanic. His parents refused to teach their children any Spanish) The only other person in the store at that time the receptionist. Richard (the Hispanic-looking guy) got of the phone with a customer, looked up at me (I was standing while he was sitting) and asked, “Bill, how do you spell Hay-soos?” I, the last guy anybody would expect to know Spanish, looked down at at him for a moment, (the receptionist was watching in rapt attention) and replied “J-E-S-U-S”. Richard said “No shit?” The whole exchange was so incongruous that the receptionist burst out laughing and literally fell of her chair; she was laughing so hard!

        Books? Cover? Judging? 😉

The Democrats now get more than their 2/3 slave counted in the electoral college and in Congressional Districts. they get a full slave now.

Time for a constitutional Amendment removing Illegally present people (Invaders) from those counts. It is like counting the invading army in the election weighting.
Well. The National Socialist Germans had greater weight when they were occupying France during the Vichy Republic regime. That may be the democrats goal.

Saw a “factoid” the other day that stated in the past four years, not a single refugee has been located into Pelosi’s district. Which makes me think that:

    1. Put them ALL in her district.
    2. Put her PERSONALLY in charge of their well-being.
    3. Tell her she has to ACCEPT all of them before she knows them. (Kinda like passing a law before you can read what’s in it…)

Or 4. Lock her in jail and throw away the key. The charge: terminal dumbassery (word it nice and legal so the lawyers accept it.)

    From Jonathon Hoenig, Fox News Contributor and Hedge Fund Manager;

“More than anything, Ayn Rand Institute events inspire conversation and debate on the most pressing and fundamental issues of our time, which other intellectual movements like libertarians or conservatives typically avoid. They drone on in circles about politics and policies but overlook the essential philosophy that underpins it all. ARI is totally unique in providing that philosophical answer — it’s the only organization whose work has the potential to change the world, not just one particular industry or issue, but all of mankind.”

    • February 1, 2017 at 4:47 pm

Unlike any other politically active entity I know of, the ARI prides itself on logical consistency. The unenlightened confuse this with religious zeal and dismiss the entire Objectivist movement on that point alone.
Sadly, the Objectivists are a voice crying in the wilderness because so many simply _want_ the world to be something other than what it actually is.

Austria has just put a ban on wearing full-face veils in public. Finland has placed severe curbs on immigration. A referendum on Italy’s constitution last year became a referendum on leaving the EU and the anti-EU vote won.
