They’re hedging their bets and expecting the same favours when it’s their turn in the hotseat. Which is why the *resident will never be impeached, there’s no way they’ll get enough votes in the Senate and I’m not sure if the ‘double jepoardy’ rule where you can’t be charged twice for the same thing would apply, you can be sure it will be argued as such and they’d treat it as a ‘can’t ever be held accountable again’ moment…just another example of professional courtesy among thieves.
