The primary purpose was having a DEI hugfest. Apparently there was no one there (female or male) who actually knew anything about fighting forest fires.

    Actually, astronauts and cosmonauts lose tools and etc. outside of spacecraft all the time. Going back to Gemini 10 in 1966;

    https://kosmofoto.com/2020/08/swedens-first-satellite-was-a-hasselblad/

Mike Collins lost a $20K (about $190K in 2023 money) Hasselblad camera during his spacewalk. Then to add insult to injury, the dust catcher sheet he was EVA’ing to retrieve drifted out the hatch and was lost too.

I’ve always suspected that the Demon Murphy has a reserved seat in LEO for every space mission.

I am not a lawyer, nor did I ever play one on TV, nor did I ever stay at a Holiday Inn.
These are just my collected and amended thoughts on a citizens’ right to vote.
The 19th is why too many Constitutional Amendments should have been laws, NOT Amendments. It’s impossible to amend an Amendment, you can only repeal an Amendment.
I’m not against women voting, but they have to have “skin in the game”. Same with men.
Work, earn an income, pay taxes, own property, own/run a business, any combination of the above, be a net positive contributor, NOT a moocher/looter.
If you’re on welfare, no right to vote.
If you’re a student (subject to the paragraph above), no right to vote.
If you’re in prison, no right to vote.
After becoming a net positive contributing citizen, and a parole period, you could regain your right to vote.

    Let the discussions begin.

I would go so far as to say if you’re a government employee (Military excluded) you cannot vote in elections on the level you are employed. State government, no voting in state elections, Federal – federal, etc.

You’d have to exclude military as well for the first two years.
It was my experience that I was effectively just a meat robot coming out of Basic and it took a while to re-orient and apply what I had learned.
        But boy did I learn.
Things may be different now, but high school life did _not_ prepare me for the Real World. My utter hatred for Socialism is derived in great part from looking around me as a straight leg infantryman and seeing the stupendous waste of taxpayer money around me. I knew why it was being done, even at the time, but I also knew it was no way to run a society, it was a way to destroy it.

Agreed. I, my brother and many in circle of friends have been saying that for over a decade, but politicians will never allow that as they need a dependant voter base to retain their power. We’d likely need an Article 5 convention of states to help make that repeal happen. Let’s do it!!

Besides needing to have skin in the game, one of my concerns is that when many women vote, they rely too much on their emotions and not facts. The politicians know this and exploit it with “It’s for the children” and other tropes.
The same can be said about the younger generations.

2004 my very red central Fla county became the first to elect a female sheriff without following a husband into the job. She was the ONLY democrat chosen in that election. Why? Female. And in a county that is 65% R what that means is that a BIG percentage of R’s went with her…D’s and R’s alike were jumping up and down at the intersections holding her sign…NOT because she was a strong candidate (she was an LT that was roundly disliked for her nasty attitude and poor qualifications to be even at that level, and almost all of the Capt’s, Lt’s and Sgt’s decided to take their leave after that). The things she did after election when she had promised a very fair and performance-based position and promotion policy, was lift up several past other more qualified, because they were D’s that had supported her. Damn near destroyed the LEO community here. Now back where it belongs in the hands of the qualified R, but also backed up with the R as Major that was my friend and choice in that election, very experienced and a masters in criminology; ran ads for him and even placed a semi trailer with a giant banner on property I owned on the main drag US 27. The loss was big and painful, and was without a doubt one of the most evil sexist things I’ve seen, totally without regard to what was best for the citizens of the county. Because she was a woman we were sold out by the R’s. Damn. Full-circle, let that be a lesson to us and guess what the scenario is playing out to be for the potus election of 2024…how many R’s will vote for Moo? All the females no doubt, and a goodly number of male RINO’s right along with them. And that is enough, in a country awash in red with even minorities seeing the light and waking up, to take the big prize.

A young girl, during an open question period for then-candidate Bill Clinton, famously asked him, “Briefs or boxers”. Says it all, really. At some sort of youth confab, as I recall…televised anyway.

Speaking of which, the advent of TV coverage ensures no ugly man (e.g., Lincoln) will every be elected President…while ugly women will be (e.g., the Clinton women) — they represent no threat to women voters.

P-8A Poseidon, basically landed long in reduced visibility on a rain-slick strip.

The (fundamentally too-short-to-begin-with) runway at Kaneohe has dunked many an Airedale over the decades.

        Copilot; “We’re in the overrun!”

Pilot; “This strip doesn’t have an overrun. Now get your life jacket on.”

Let me see, in March 2001 foot attachment point drifted away from Discovery. Jim Voss was the crew member with dropsy in this case.

In July 2006 Piers Sellers and Michael Fossum lost a 14-inch spatula while testing a method to repair the space shuttle in case of lost tiles.

In September 2006 spacewalk, astronaut Joe Tanner lost a bolt, spring, and washer.

NBC seems to think the world did not exist before 2001. I seem to remember one or two earlier incidents. In all cases the crew member with dropsy had a hose between his legs.

There is no “Right to Vote”, voting is a privilege. A “Right” is something you can DO all by yourself anytime you please. You can only “Vote” if the government gives you the opportunity by holding an election.

Women have the ‘right to vote’ it is conferred on them without any obligation.
Men have to EARN their vote by signing up for the military and be eligible for the draft. That’s the law.
Men put their lives on the line, they have skin in the game.
Women don’t have to do a thing.

The Selective Service Act includes ALL men (hose equipped) to register for the draft upon their 18th birthday. That includes illegal aliens 18 and over. Bet they are never prosecuted while citizens can and will be…

When I was young and on Active duty, I tended to either not vote, or only vote in local elections where the results affected my family. My logic at that time was it did not matter who was elected President, that individual was my Commander in Chief. As I got older and started paying more attention to the situation affecting the Military, I started to make sure I voted in the Federal Elections as well. Sadly, Military voters are easily disenfranchised because the Unit Voting Officers do not get the ballots collected or processed in a timely manner. So the votes of our Overseas/deployed troops can be denied because they did not make the cut off. These votes may have been able to change an election if they had been counted. But certain political parties value illegal aliens more than the Citizens that defend the country and will do their best to downplay our value to the Republic making us out to be worthless leaches on society and saying the money we are paid could be put to better use elsewhere.
