    1. I’m good with the deplorable redneck thing.

    2. Does this mean Jo’s been feeling up the Zedman?

    3. Still don’t know how our hot Asian Commander Suzy Q. fits in…

Deplorable? I’ll wear that as a badge of honor, ESPECIALLY when a DildoCrat says it. I’ve even added “Toxic” to that list.
    Gap-toothed? (see above)
Rednecked? And you say that like that’s something bad.

Having the misfortune to have lived next door to a few “liberals” over the years when I had the choice I moved to a small city in Mississippi. I find that I have a lot more in common with my deplorable redneck neighbors and they are much nicer people than the despicable former “people next door that called themselves “liberals”.
Robert Heinlein got it right; “Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.”

Heinlein rocks, but I would split hairs on the “lacking in altruism” point. Conservatives seem more charitable- at least with their own resources- than liberals.

They forgot turnabout is fair play. Though they don’t play fair or follow just and honorable rules. Just following orders gets innocent people hurt and killed.

Even better than “turnabout” is seeing Matthew 7:2 in action right now, here in Virginia. I’m waiting for one of them to be raided by SWAT in the early morning hours. Will it be the minority sexual harasser (accused), the ‘racist’ who’s going to read TaNeCheesi Coates (whatever his name is) to redeem himself, or the oh-so-repentant ‘racist’ AG (the most Matthew 7:2 of the bunch)?

It did occur to me that this sort of thing could become commonplace. “Just following orders” won’t go over to well with the general public, after the lessons of the past century.

And that’s just the first public reaction.

You all missed the “wish” part. If you were gifted said trailer, you could sell it to eager proggies for enough to buy a decent small country estate in someplace sane. What’s wrong with that?

      • February 9, 2019 at 11:55 pm

        Nothing wrong with that.

Except, to slightly edit the old saw, if you wish in one hand and shit in the other, the former would stay empty and the latter would fill up…and make you right at home in the San Fran. 🙂

Major mistakes in SF are made when the writers don’t think through the possibilities of their own work.
In the case of Roddenberry, the poor man described the Transporter as a fantastically advanced (for the Federation) technology that turned matter to energy and back again. Instead, with a little thought he could have explained it as an incremental application of warp technology, something much simpler and easier to explain.
The same goes for the AI in the Matrix. Rather than asserting the ridiculous notion of using humans for batteries, the writers should have stated the obvious, that the machines needed the humans for their _Intelligence_.
There is no reason Jo has to have its own intelligence if it can borrow it from somebody else and yet employ its own data base. This naturally limits Jo’s intelligence to more-or-less human norms and makes it dependent on its master(s), which gives it built in safeguards and doesn’t require the invention of a Theory of Intelligence that could result in the creation of The Singularity.

Jo should change shape in front of this jackass a few times then lean down to him, as the cuffs hit the floor…

“go ahead. SAY IT AGAIN. I DARE YOU.”

since there was likely a camera where Jo/Sam was held..I wonder how they liked that particular show?
