That’s one way to return the United States to a constitutional republic.

If implemented nationwide be every red county, it would result in the total and permanent collapse of every blue city within 30 days.

For more than 2900 counties, life would immediately improve. For the 200 or so deep blue counties, well, socialism has utterly failed everywhere it’s been tried for more than 500 years, so it’s way past time for them to take their rightful place on the garbage heap of history.

But it would require an enormous number of claymore mines, rolls of razor wire, Ma Deuces, and flamethrowers to keep the progtards in place until they finish cannibalizing each other.

The US ceased being a Constitutional Republic with the ratification of the 19th Amendment w/o the associated expectation of REASON and ACCOUNTABILITY.

        I respectfully disagree.

The dissolution of the Republic came with the passage of the 17th Amendment.

We already had one popularity contest to choose legislators. Now we have two and the damage continues.

I agree, when the 17th Amendment took away the States representation and put the population in charge of who represents the State, it started our downhill slide.

But our “elites” and Killary have been screaming for the “popular vote” for President. Besides ranked voting which also guarantees a demonrat win.

!7th Amendment started our downhill slide and it was the establishment of the Federal Reserve Banking Scheme that provided grease for the skids, thus accelerating the slide.

Somebody’s gonna have to go back and get a shitload of dimes. /gratuitous Blazing Saddles reference.

Back when I was young, there was a ten cent bounty placed on certain destructive pests. It was about enough to replace the ammo we youngsters expended disposing of them. .22lr can commonly be had, even today, for under a dime apiece.

      Completely unrelated, of course.

Bounties work. Suggested a few times Guam could be rid of their ‘brown tree snake’ problem with a simple bounty program. Of course, no clue what Bren is alluding to above … ahem

If bounties are high enough to be effective, they are high enough to present a perverse incentive to breed the pests for the bounty value.

Well, I checked just to see if I misunderstood the aphorism, and I didn’t:

dance with the one that brought you
(chiefly US and Canada) Be considerate and loyal to the one who has been supportive, attentive, or helpful to you.

How could anybody think that Democrats have been supportive or helpful to red staters?

Somewhat disturbing to see Trump blaming midterm “losses” on GOP mismanagement rather than on Democrat-run election fraud. Yes, there was both, but as we see in AZ, MAGA “losses” were carefully planned and plotted by the Crime(D) Syndicate(D). Don’t understand many of his moves lately, and why aren’t the declassified ObamaGate files STILL not released??? 4-D Chess? Something else?

I’m guessing the Donald is getting advice from his team to NOT focus on the losses of elections as an issue… but that’s just a guess.

Also, the Donald isn’t wrong… the allocation of funding screwed over several Trump-endorsed candidates as Mitch the Bitch chose to deliberately lose a number of seats in order to disarm MAGA thereby securing his “leadershit” position…

      The truth hurts.
GOP top management sank into the swamp decades ago.
When, under Clinton, the Democrats dumped the working class to turn full on fascist for the sake of all that Military Industrial Complex money and brains, the GOP should have been in full recruitment mode for those Democratic Plantation votes.
But the GOP management was already in the bag as part of the UniParty.
It was mentioned above that the culprits were the 17th and 19th Amendments, both Progressive Era initiatives. But my vote is for the creation of the Federal Reserve and the economic chaos it invoked with its vote buying funny money.
Taxation without Representation is Tyranny, and inflating the currency is just that.

One of the nevertrumper talking points coming out from the “right” is his fixation on the “so called” fraud in the 2020 election. Might be they’re downplaying that aspect and giving that ball to Kari Lake to run with.

    Chris,
I don’t think anyone outside South Texas really recognizes just how close we are to doing things that we, ourselves, abhor. Between sexualizing our kids in public schools, ignoring border security, selling our national security assets to China, and “wokening” our military, the Biden Administration and its useful idiots are driving us closer and closer to “When in the course of human events . . . “

Up here, the population is ‘technically’ in charge of selecting their government, with the spreading use of dominion voting machines instead of the ‘paper ballot in the box’ method, that’s no longer assured.
A federal election is much simpler up here, every five years (or whenever the party in power decides they could win an election and calls it early, nevermind the legislation that says you can’t do thjat anymore) you get a ballot with the representatives of all parties, usually four or five but often up to a dozen since the fringe groups get to be on there too, pick ONE and one only, fold the paper and drop it in the box, Provincial and local elections are done at different times, often years apart.
One of the biggest problems I see in the US is that they overcomplicated the electoral system putting everything from President to both Houses, State politicians, Judges, Sheriffs, dogcatchers and whatever lunatic proposal someone can come up weith to complicate the issue and try to pick from hundreds of people you probably don’t even know or have heard of.

That spawned the rise of the voting machine, but people forget that machines only do what whoever built them wants them to do and no matter what you put into it, you’re going to get the predetermined result out.

Up here the population is distributed so that you only need to keep two Provinces out of ten plus three Territories happy and you’re pretty much guaranteed if not a majority gov’t, a minority that the ndp (our hardcore socialists) will prop up as long as you feed them taxpayer’s money.

There was a push by the currently governing socialist-lite party to ditch the ‘majoirty wins’ system and go to one like Alaska is using, we dodged as bullet on that one when they figured out that it might cost them seats in Quebec if the Conservatives were the second choice of the BQ, which they usually are, and dropped the idea.

It used to be ‘one man, one vote’ now it’s ‘one machine, as many votes as you need’ 🙁

I see now that the old adage is completely true…
“If voting made a difference, we wouldn’t be allowed to do it”

The trouble has always been how to get people to the polls rather than how complicated the ballots were. In the sane times, election day was next to a holiday, and giving employees time off to go vote once every couple of years was the norm. Having multiple, staggered elections would have changed the complexion and reduced the gravity of the whole process. Voting was a sacred duty, not just another chore.

That, of course, was before the perennially ongoing election cycle that never ends, and the destruction of the ballot process. Elections are just another corporate product now.

It sure would be cool if Chris could have something like this created. https://www.goldback.com Real gold. I expect a small run would be extremely cost prohibitive, but I’m in for 10 of them if he can make it happen with Sam or the girls on them. Maybe more. They are an investment and spendable. There are 3 states using them as legal tender amongst participating retailers. Wyoming, New Hampshire and Nevada, I think. I love the idea and hope Texas gets on the band wagon. Maybe Chris can kick it off for the state. (Well, Florida does make more sense for him.) I would buy Florida gold backed currency just as willingly.

A forfeiture law that I can agree with.

Should a Soros funded entity take actions that damage Gunpowder, declare all assets of Soros and related entities forfeit. seize them. Use the assets seized to make whole or reduce the damages to the entities harmed by the Soros related damage.

I can speculate on good and moral use of laws.
