He is Risen, indeed. Even knowing that He would Rise, Good Friday was…Ah…difficult for me. Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of The Christ” gave me an inkling of what He gave for us. (Or for those who believe in God, at any rate…for those who don’t, God Bless You anyway).

It was hard enough with “boys”. I can’t imagine daughters, although I met several Fathers. For one Mother, it mattered that my hair and beard were similar to that in the pictures of the “Heros” on the mantle. Soon after came the “adjustments” for the respirator. Lots of adjustments for the daughter and the respirator, but it all worked out. With the proper stimulus, boys can be quite adaptable. The chil’uns and the cat took some work. I must have smelled OK to the dog that ran the place. Both Mothers let me play with the “puppies”, as long as I left the steak sauce in the kitchen. We found good homes for all of the “puppies”.
I thought nose rings were to keep creatures under control?
Also thought there were LAWS to keep weapons and guns out of the hands of CRAZY persons and those that self-classified as Other.

“thought there were LAWS” … There are, they just keep honest people honest. At least until their stated purpose becomes something else. As in – Dad, why do they wanna take away our guns? Well, son, because they want to kill us… and they don’t want to get shot.
I had 4 sons and 3 daughters. Believe me, the girls were much, much harder to raise than the boys. Boys tend to be straightforward. Girls are not, and they’re drama queens. I went prematurely gray, and I blame the girls.
On the other hand, the middle girl became a Marine and served in the sandbox. I worried about her, but she handled it well. She was in CID and was involved in busting a prostitution ring over there. After 13 years, she retired on a medical, and now runs a business in South Carolina — and she’s just as much Hell-on-wheels as she always was.
What’s her business? If it’s near Charleston, Sumter, Columbia, Newberry, or Georgetown, I might stop in and drop a few Semolians to support a fellow Veteran.
