Well, Gates isn’t in media *any more*. Microsoft was a co-owner of the MSNBC TV channel from 1996 to 2005 and co-owner of msnbc.com from 1996 to 2012. Gates retired from Microsoft in 2008. That means, as CEO of Microsoft, he was in media from 1996 to 2008 and his fingerprints were all over them.

Today we have corporate commies and ChiComs, fascist blackshirts called Antifa, and even Gates, as in Bill Gates.

Hmmm … kinda reminds of that WWII Stalingrad movie “Enemy At The Gates” which dramatized the Commie snipers against the Nazi snipers, circa 2001.

I remember when watching that movie I was rooting for no one … there was no dog in that fight I wanted to support nor I could identify with.

      The whole story was phony anyway;

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erwin_K%C3%B6nig

The one thing in the movie that was apparently accurate was that the main propaganda officer in Stalingrad at the time was none other than a junior commissar named Nikita Khrushchev.

“ So why the legend of Zaitsev versus Konig? Because propaganda is as formidable and useful a weapon as a rifle or tank.”

Hell … ain’t that the truth?!?

Whether they were socialists of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party or the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics … socialists of all ilks and stripes need their propaganda … that’s their daily bread and butter; it’s just what they do.

BTW … I remember early on in that movie wishing to see the main protagonist (Zaitsev) pump a round into the pie-hole of that wormy little Zampolit who was supposedly his “best” friend.

There have never been any good commies, just as there have never been any good fascists.

It’s too bad that the Soviets and Nazis couldn’t have just completely destroyed each other through total warfare. I think the rest of the world might have been grateful …

I respectfully beg to disagree. There are, indeed, good commies and good racists — those who have assumed room temperature.

In another world, the USA would have provided just enough materiel to keep the Soviets in the war.

Reminds me of the story of the wife beating frontiersman. From the cabin, the wife hears a ruckus. Goes out and sees her husband, armed with a Bowie knife, fighting a large bear. She shouts, “Have at him, husband, Git’em bear,”

Every MS update to Win10 must be viewed with suspicion. The last one installed Skype on my HD and tried (for the umpteenth time) to install Google Chrome and make it my default (in fact only )browser.

Uninstalling Skype was not an easy or pleasant experience.

As to why Skype is not a good idea, its “Chat! Chat! Chat!” function is also a data mining app rather like TikTok. Such things are just one more reason I don’t keep financial data, etc. on my computers.

A Sherman Anti Trust action against Microsoft has been in order for at least the last two decades. Of course, their lawyers have the interesting habit of declaring MS “citizens of the world”, saying that as such they are not bound by petty U.S. law, and walking out.

More like “Masters of the World”. Robur would probably be jealous.

Turns out the China Virus does not respond to the Remdesivir drug as well as Gilead claims (14 days to recovery). In a blind test of numerous patients, the placebo was nearly as good and lost by one day of hospitalization, 15 days to recovery!

    Chris,
I know the popular myth is that Gates is a super coder. Actually the guy couldn’t code his way past a paraplegic Kobold dressed in wet tissue paper. Balmer was the coder.

Gate’s claim to fame was selling IBM a crippled version of CP/M. He got all the credit because he was the one paying the PR guys.

Linux. Preferably on hardware not descendants of the 8086. It should be possible, now, to put an entire Cray 1 with full memory and peripheral processors onto a single chip; and purge the curse. I/O and power would be problems (are they ever not?)
