“A classic education” to include antiquated concepts like logic, reason, and critical thinking? A return to academic classicism in our lifetime? No, maybe someday.
I was probably one of the last to get a true “classic education. And much of it was due to the stupid computer registration system that would never give me the classes I needed for my Biology Major, so I took classes I would have taken as electives. I wound up with a degree in “General Studies” with. almost half again as many credits as I needed to graduate. I got the most well-rounded practical education I could have asked for, and went on to successful careers in the Air Force and Army in Emergency Management.

The time lapse from pre-k to an undergraduate degree that would be needed for thousands of students to turn the education system around will span several generations, and that will only happen if the current crop of Marxists get their walking papers tomorrow. Where would the people with an adequate amount of experience in critical thinking and the moral and ethical integrity to make the changes work be found, anyway? Our alleged “educators” are rotten to the core. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I spent 30+ years in public education before I retired, but I was teaching a bunch of technical trades- – – -auto mechanics, body and paint, welding, and automotive machining- – – -not outdoor masturbation!

The teachers and professors could be replaced by retirees. For every marxist PhD fired just hire a self educated 70+ who ran their own business. That’s a PhD in real life.
There were two ages of enlightenment. Continental Europe’s blossomed in France. Which gave birth to the French revolution, government by terror. An emperor who wrecked Europe. All life, of necessity, must accomplish two things, survival and reproduction, and all successful adaptations must pursue that course of action.
And in the case of Homo sapiens sapiens that adaptation can be boiled down to one overriding pursuit.
Us humans use that huge mass of central nervous system tissue stuffed between our ears to Game The System.
Gaming the System is why we must adopt things like Checks and Balances in government, why Capitalism relies on the failure of corrupted business, and why the Soviet Union died in a whimpering heap of corruption.
The rot is at epidemic proportions in DC, has been, but now it has boiled over. When the need to exercise concealed carry, to level the playing field in most major cities, contrary to the laws of liberal cities, you are deemed a rebel. So be it. When in the course of human events…I just can’t wrap my head around how even Republicans suck to the current degree which they suck and collude with ChiComs (McConnell, et. al.) to the detriment of the USA. How much is enough? How much greed can overcome a person or a people before it all collapses? It’ll take something dramatic, like a legal voting result, or a good old fashioned ass-whooping to change the paradigm we are presently in. Patience. The poetry noted in yesterday’s comments was quite prescient. Be safe out there.
There needs to be a lot more Harvey Milk style impeachments going on- – – – -anywhere from powder burn range to half a mile away. It’s too bad we can’t figure out a way to reincarnate Carlos Hathcock and Chris Kyle to instruct a new generation of “ballistic impeachment” specialists!
Precooked need to understand that “their country” is at their front door, and the invaders are domestic. Will they fight then? Most will, some won’t, those ones will be used for bait.

Napoleon was actually of average or slightly above average height for the times. One point of debate is if his height was measured in French or English inches. In French, he was 5ft/2-in; in English, he was 5ft/7-in. Also, he tended to be surrounded by guards who were much taller.
