I agree.
But there will be an intermediate stage that Robert Heinlein anticipated.
The “robots”, although AI driven to some degree, will still lack the ability to adapt to the environment and problems they find themselves in.
They must first undergo a “Waldo” stage where humans supply all the necessary direction and motivation that is far too complex for any AI or programmer to anticipate.
This is something only humans can do because it suits only human purposes.
An AI can be used to fill in the gaps and do repetitive work, but a human in the loop will be absolutely necessary for the foreseeable future.
So the expectation, as referenced in its name, “Artificial Intelligence” self-solves the issue of programming limitations in lieu of doing its own…and that is its hidden ability and ultimately its hidden agenda, that so terrified Elon from the beginning and caused his own entry into the fray…
Before we get to the stage of hearing “I’s sorry Dave, I can’t do that” we better rethink our goals and its possibilities.
I’ll go with “Garbage In Garbage Out”. Does anyone imagine that “programmers” are really skilled enough to cover all contingencies that any robot in it’s job will encounter? Even ignoring Murphey?
Someone mentioned having to study Sam and Kiko fully to determine which is which. I see Chris gave Sam a scar today to mess with us(Leave it on this one please!)
Note that Kiko has Pink Lips, and Sam’s lips are a darker red.
As usual, exquisite artwork, Chris. One day you have to each of the women as a portrait, Oils and canvas.

2 RC’s and a Goodies.
But is it an RC-complete problem?
But unlike so many she’s a single mother with a strong family support group instead of choosing to depend on the government.
AI can’t replace the blue collar/no collar worker who builds and repairs with their hands, experience, and skills.
I wouldn’t necessarily rely on that assertion. Elon just made a prediction that AI driven robots are only a few years away. They will be no collar.
I agree.

Computers only do what you tell them to, not what you want them to.
Any ‘unexpected problems’ with AI are purely manmade and very likely intentional.
