Progtards have yet to realize that their insane, violent, rhetoric and actions didn’t just cause the Overton Window to shift. Instead they ripped the window right out of the frame and destroyed the wall.

Therefore, nothing is Unthinkable any more.

Chris’s ‘toon today is prophetic. Except when it comes to pass, it won’t involve Tasers.

It’s becoming the wild West again, when sidearms was the norm. Nobody considered challenges without consequences. Everybody respected spaces. I could get used to it.

The Left has repeatedly and consistently self-identified as an Existential Threat to the constitutional republic that is the United States of America.

    Eon’s Laws

    First Law

Human beings choose to follow belief systems, religious, political, or otherwise, which sanctify the sort of actions they would do anyway. The belief system just lets them feel self-righteous about what they want to do to others.

    Second Law

If someone repeatedly and constantly tells you that he wants to kill you, you owe him the courtesy of assuming he really means it and responding appropriately.

    Third Law

Hunter S. Thompson once observed that “entire empires have been done in by vengeful freaks claiming a special relationship with God”.

He forgot the even greater number of polities destroyed by even more vengeful freaks who believed that they, themselves, were God.

    Close quote.

“Progressivism” does not “make” people monsters. It’s just attractive to people who already have that mindset and are looking for approval for being that way.

As Ayn Rand said, these are people who don’t want to “live”- they want to get away with living, which is something entirely different.

The problems arrive when those sorts of people come to believe that they can “get away” with anything.

I’m very much afraid that that’s where we are now.

“… attractive to people who already have that mindset and are looking for approval for being that way”

      This … !

My wife occasionally berates me for not participating on social media which is true. I don’t twit, face-plant, linkin, tiktok, etc of any type. I do text on my phone which is convenient but if I need to contact somebody, I much prefer to make a phone call.

While allowing that social media is a good way to stay in touch with scattered family and is a must for retail businesses, IMHO most SM is in general merely a platform for those who have self worth issues and seek approval. My biggest objection to SM is that because of the anonymity it provides, it has debased the social contract between people. I believe it was that expert on social interactions Mike Tyson who said “… without social media a lot of folks would be getting punched in the face.”

So as a retired old guy who has been fairly successful in life, I do not seek adulation from the masses. So everyone, be polite to others while keeping your situational awareness active.

A close friend of mine once told me,

“You are always extremely polite, even to impolite people.

“It’s when you become excruciatingly polite, and start Using Exact Words like ‘do not’ rather than ‘don’t’, that whoever you are speaking to should already be running.”
