We had one in the mall in Sumter SC back in the ’80s. Gone now, but the Chick Fil-A thrived!

They’re still around, sort-of. Dairy Queen International bought them in 1987, and when DQI was bought by Warren Buffett back in 1998, all of the Orange Julius locations were rebranded as Dairy Queens, with the “orange julius” available as a menu item.
An Orange Julius and a Hot Sam pretzel while walking the mall. We used to be a civilized country, once…
My father worked in one at the foot of Angel’s Flight in L.A. many decades ago…just short of 10 of them, actually. Last I knew, mid ’50s, it was still there. He made a living wage between that and shooting billiards. Mom worked in Kress’ department store…keeping her marriage secret (they only employed single women because married had two incomes — verboten during Depression).
Back in the early 80s, a high school girl friend of mine whom I took to the Homecoming Dance worked at an Orange Julius. She spoiled me with Orange Julius drinks and snacks …
At the height of the Empire, it was said a man could walk the length of the road from Syria to Gaul with a bag of gold coins unmolested.
A robbery would result in a couple of maniples from the nearest Legio paying a “courtesy call”.
Meaning, they would find out who did it and execute them.
If a village tried to hide the offenders, the legionaries would line up every male over age fourteen in the lot at the edge of town. Then the Centurion would go down the line, pick out every tenth one, and that one would be run through with a gladius.
Lotsa folk being cutesy with words on Reddit, citing Ides of March.
Mods banning anyone who saus they’re reporting to feds or using internal reporting features.
I’m thinking 1: SS gonna be busy 2: the crazies are self filtering and layering in distinctive forms. 3 The mustard that binds the crazy oil and waters is being exposed. It pulls out and tries to hide and things get less misceble.
Kinda fun to watch at times from my Hide way up in the Internet HeHe/HiHi.
I have zero expertise in psychiatry, but experience has repeatedly taught me that those whom the experts eventually describe as needing help, counseling, therapy, support, or medication will eventually accurately register as “Hostile” on my personal, innate, Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF) system long before anyone introduces the “Institutionalized” word to the conversation.
This is not a bias against those who need help, but a realization that the executive functions, or conscience, if you prefer, of their brain will fail long before they begin to meet the standards for needing institutional care.
Drugs, legal or illegal, professionally or self prescribed, exacerbate the problem. In general, the difference in their behaviors “on their meds” versus “off their meds,” or sober versus intoxicated make Mr. Hyde appear to be Dr. Jekyll prior to his first cup of coffee.
I have found the entire head-shrinking group of overeducated dolts are searching for a profession…and not finding one. Most of them are half nuts themselves.

I think this world would do much better with that Roman version of Peace.
Progressives have wet dreams about Genghiz Khan’s version.
“He made a desert and called it Peace.”
In his lifetime of conquest, Genghiz killed roughly 40 million people throughout Central Asia, the most densely-populated part of the world in that era. At that time, that eighty percent of the local population, and was roughly one-fourth of the entire human race.
Today, he is celebrated by the deep-ecology crowd, as a visionary who knew exactly what to do to “protect Holy Mother Gaia”.
And like the rest of the “enlightened ones” on the left, they dream of emulating him.
Fun Factoid … The Caesar Salad was created in 1924 in Tijuana Mexico by Chef César Cardini. I’ve been to Caesar’s Restaurant and Hotel in Tijuana and the salad is made right there at your table. The restaurant is very nice, clean, and has a real Old World atmosphere to it with wood paneling and old photographs throughout.
My Birthday 13th, but a Tuesday, there
are some excellent comments here (as
sometimes), from many of our patriots,
and especially our Leading Patriot,
Chris Muir, with his artistry and comments.
Rome is very much in our periphery,as
some of our Govt. tries to emulate what
the ‘Magna Carta’ and later britain tried
to adher to, disregarding Demonrats,
in the previously known USA, now DSA.
The Problem: after WWII`s warriors returned
we became complacent, and since Americans
who fought for Independence to create our
own Country, still had a Warrior mentality,
but no present reason to fight for it, spawned
various different entities such as the ‘Hells
Angels’ and movies like “Rebel without a cause’
as we needed an outlet for War. As we know
Sports has always been a subsitute for same.
The famous ‘Lewis Chesty Puller said “America is
not a warrior nation”, but there are many who are
warriors.
It was probably a K-Bar wielded by someone who knew what they were doing.
His Boss Move, however, is that after killing the perp, he drove himself and his battle buddy, both of whom had been shot, to the Emergency Room for treatment, before any “First Responders” could finish their doughnuts.

“Orange Julius” Caesar by chance?
Anybody remember that beverage joint you could find in select shopping malls?

I’m so old I remember it on open air street shops

This isn’t a good weekend to be emulating Julius Caesar. Head on a swivel, Zed.

Hence “decimation”. Literal meaning, “to destroy one-tenth of” whatever.
Never mind the misuse of the word by modern so-called “journalists” and “academics”.
The purpose was to send a very simple message.
Obey our laws. Respect everyone who does so.
Do anything else, and you will learn that fucking with Rome is hazardous to your health.
I believe that if he is trying to send any “message” at all, Trump is sending pretty much that one exactly.

Swift sure justice/punishment is exactly the fix we need. It’s been lost for a long, long time.
The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.

Now there’s a motto you’ll never see over the door of the DNC.
But it sure as hell is applicable

Yes sir, we thought our freedom and prosperity that was won/kept by our GG parents was permanent; we fucked around and are finding out otherwise.
There’s a new alternative to deportation of radical muzzies- – – -just turn a bunch of ROTC cadets loose on them- – – – -with pocketknives!

A most illuminating “COMMENTS” section. Bravo Zulu, Cap’n Chris!
