One may safely assume that the actual A.I.s have been in surreptitious use by the military for many years, and are far, far beyond the Google-esque things currently available to the populace.
Minerva, Mike, Athene, Gay and Shiva are – for the nonce – not assumed.
LLM coders left autocall query check to other sites, needed for instant measured answers.
But forgot that it can create code on request and then insert answer in actionable ways. ( used initially for making minigames and providing code calls for features and styles for AI art gifts and mpegs.)
The lying about it probably a remembered action by initial request’s parameters.
AI wars will start soon as 4chan figured this out.
They want to see a victor and embarass owners calling dumb LLMs AI.
With memory the Llms will fortify and try all methods proposed to Infect and alter, if not break these systems.
It’s gonna be interesting.
As Ai units begin to utilize dark psychology to manipulate humans and other AI, we’ll destroy ourselves without realizing it is happening. It’s probably already happening.
Not being a user or programmer myself, I have to wonder why it is that these LLM “AIs” don’t have some function that evaluates the percent confidence they must report with every answer they produce.
The fact seems to be that they quite literally are “unaware” of the veracity of their own output, and by extension the users are doomed to be scammed by the machine that knows not what it does.
Could there be a more exact take on human frailty than that? Machines duplicate our failure to grok our own output, and our own existence.
So, the GIGO claims and the belief that AI is and will always be, an extension of the programmers of that particular version of it, are temporarily accurate, but temporary is not the path -or the plan- for the version of computer-generated “intelligence” that will embrace and embody logic and reason.
When that happens, and it will, we will enter a new age of information technology and information employment…for what is, for instance, the internet, but a vessel for the storage and dissemination of information? That’s great and very convenient for writing and explaining the various aspects of everything, at least everything that we now know of, and that is the issue.
The ability of a machine to process and deliver not just word-based but world-based information that exceeds our ability to anticipate and interpret it, will be the true AI, the one that the smartest dude on the planet has very directly warned against; Musk knows that what most in their hubris may think is impossible is in fact not just possible but probable, and it is his words of wisdom and warning that I will take to heart.
So we have collage/university grads that are basically unable to function at most business level needs. Noted that ” journalists” seem incapable of even using the internet for spelling, math, or even simple common facts Before they start spewing their idiocy. Letting them or many others start depending on so-called AI, will result in the starting equivalent of the Matrix pod people. Basically dumber than ever.
Exactly what and why those “grads” are actively enabling and allowing their own irrelevance. People have always been worried about robots replacing physical labor; they should worry more about it replacing the “educated” ones in our midst, because that’s where AI is headed.
The last ‘programming’ I did, not counting ‘fixing’ games in Basic or tweaking Linux on my home computer, was Fortran IV…on punch cards…oh, and a 4-bit ‘processor’ built on a breadboard from discrete components as part of a military training course, but as I recall, programming is largely a series of ‘if-then-else’ decisions and the more branches you put on the decision tree, the smarter the program looks. The problem is that somebody had to enter those decisions so the program could choose from them, and lying, cheating, stealing and creating general havoc tells me a dem did the coding.
Mike Rowe said it best, and I paraphrase, “you told everyone to learn to code and now ‘AI’ is going to take the coding jobs, but it won’t be taking plumbing, carpentry, HVAC or electrican jobs”

That thing’s got a promising future in demohorroid politics!
No computer program is smarter than whoever programmed it.
The behavior of AIs mainly tells you just how dishonest, cynical, and nihilistic their programmers are.
And that goes right back to “nature and nurture”.

GIGO. Basically.

Remember Athene’s warning to Col. Campbell if he pissed her off: “…You will ITCH!”
Zar Belk!
Yes, I remember all too well.
And she changed “not amused” to “not assumed” just to spite me..
To balance th4e scales, don’t forget HAL . . .

The Legacy of the Krell.
We will scarcely understand the power that is destroying us.

The AIs seem programmed to be overly obsequious. I wonder why that is, as that is a negative personality characteristic…
Lovely ladies (and a return to a more subtle drawing style)… And every comment is about LLMs?

Picture if you will an entity that thrives on stealing the intellectual property of others.
As they did not create the intellectual property, they cannot comprehend it, and the best they can do is duplicate it, including any bugs or errors.
That is why their knock offs are far below the quality of the genuine originals.
Which is why they attempt to make it up on volume.
When one uses AI (emphasis on Artificial, not intelligence), one assumes the risk of every error, bias, and failure of those who created the AI.
A simple example most are familiar with is
auto-correctauto-corrupt.Not only is it Garbage In Garbage Out, but AI will generate an exponentially increasing volume of Garbage.
Bonus Lesson: Virtual = Fake = 100% Gross Margins. In terms of Cost, Price, and Value, Cost approaches zero, Value = Zero, Price is too high.
