The only time one tucks a napkin at the neck is at very formal meal called an Escoffier dinner. Wouldn’t want to stiff anyone serving that. Certain delicacies can be deadly if not served correctly.

The other only time is when you go out to eat after church and don’t want to mess up your Sunday best. And don’t forget the tip.

Or you’re eating a bucket o’ seafood somewhere like Joe’s Crab Shack. Or some BBQ places. Occasionally fried chicken.

(You need to get out more with people who take their eating seriously, but not themselves.) 😉

Maybe the bill won’t pass if there’s no way to pay for it…Nah, sorry. Common sense got the better of me for a moment.

Isn’t it traditional to pay AFTER the meal or is that just a social construct like gender… except for the gender involved in the gendered pay gap which is real, real, real, dammit… ignore the evidence to the contrary and let’s talk about reparations…

My brain hurts after writing that. Ouch.

The day they pr0vide reparations to my family for the loss of their Pennsylvania farm because there was no way to work it during th3e war when my GGGrandfather was away fighting for the Union, and the poverty and challenges when he returned home after he lost a leg in that same war, etc., is the day I might consider reparations for descendants of slaves. Oh, and he was a volunteer.

The same ones being nagged to offer reparations to the descendants of slaves, sir. We were not an army of mercenaries. But that does call to mind a wonderful book by MacPherson, “For Cause and Comrades.” He analyzes the motivation of soldiers in the Civil War who fought for a Cause, and how it led to incredible acts of courage and sacrifice. Highly recommended!

      • March 15, 2019 at 4:00 pm

No doubt about the courage of individuals, yet some causes are just and some are not as we are re-learning now…and often partipation was/is by choice not conscription.

My own recommendation for reading would be a deep look into the incredibly cruel and evil deeds of self-admitted deception, theft, destruction and genocide committed under false pretense…talk about twisted appropriated racism and justification for reparations…again drawing scary parallels to current events.

Th financialization of everything over the past 50 or so years has ended with Americans (and the world’s people) often owning nothing of the assets they seem to have temporary possession of that some call ownership.
    Everythng s mortgaged.
After this amount of time in Western Civilization with no major wars taking place in it, everyone should own their own homes and major assets. They don’t by design. Many designs. And the methods in the book The Economic Hit Man have been used in the USA and across the world. The Chinese are even using those methods.
And those people subject to a jurisdiction other than the USA are being brought in to seal the deal for the end of the USA and its control by legacy Americans.
Apply the law and Constitution. Deport them all first. Then think about immigration where the USA chooses who comes in.
Tom Perez, you can stay out.
The laws are there for those with the strength to use them wisely, and the wisdom to know when, how, and why to use them.
Those native to the Swamp are not the ones who know or even care to use good law and to use our God blessed Constitution.

A lot of them are more subtle. For example, I never realized before how close mankind came to possible extinction without modern technology. Thanks, Beto Male!

Beto Laments That People In Rural Areas Can’t Use Tinder
“You may have that in Iowa, as well, where farmers and ranchers and producers literally cannot get online, where people cannot start businesses in their hometown or finish their education after high school because they can’t get online,” he continued. “They can’t go to Tinder and find a date tonight to find that special person who will make the difference in their lives.”

Yes, because in the ancient pre-internet days there were no social gatherings and out of desperation we had to resort to buying for two cows or two dozen chickens, although you could rent for one chicken if it was a laying hen. Lord help you if her family found out you slipped in a rooster.

“Republicans”, for want of a more accurate term for the anti-leftist electorate, were given a choice between what, 15 or 20 wannabes in ’16?

They made their choice, and it wasn’t you, mirror boy. They are highly likely to make the same one again in ’20, and prayers to God with the same result in the one that really matters…but you really don’t care about that do you Jeb?

Bernie Sanders, powerful Democrat (close enough), walked into a shower door and got 7 stitches Friday morning, has brushed it off.

Harry Reid, powerful Democrat, had an accident with a shower door New Year’s Day 2015, looked beaten up and lost sight in an eye, brushed it off.

No relation. Of course not. Just two old-time balding powerful Democrat men who had altercations involving their heads and shower doors, happens all the time.
