Yup. I have several AO Skymaster frames (acquired over time) that i rotate in service as needed. have one set that is perfectly adjusted – swapping lenses as needed is no problem; been fixing glasses for a long time . . .
BTW, found this out when my son added a line of high-end shades to his jewelry business, buying gray market wholesale from a licensed vendor…
Some Italian outfit (Luxottica?) owns all the big sunglass brands as well as the mall outlets, not really a nickel’s difference in any of them.
They own and license a vast portfolio of popular eyewear brands, including Ray-Ban, Oakley, Versace, Chanel, and many more. They also own several retail chains like Sunglass Hut.
You have to be careful with polarized lenses, they’re great for some things but bad for others. I never cared much for them and they’re forbidden to pilots in military A/C because tiny scratches in the windshield can end up perpendicular to the minute lines in the lenses that give the polarizing effect and then all you see is black. The same thing can happen in a ground vehicle, bad idea to wear them while driving. Good for fishing though.

Wayfaras, talking about the sunglasses. I did not know that.
It’s Wayfarer for Karl, and Randolph or American Optical for us mere mortals.
AO Skymasters are all I’ve been wearing since 1969, when I first needed corrective lenses. They are the best . . .
I prefer his Gargoyles
Oh! “SKYNET!”
Here I am wondering why StarLink needed to wipe its butt with California.
I am a hopeless mental prisoner of my industry…
Oakly balistic, polarized (but that seems to affect depth perception. Eye pro is VERY important!
If Karl glommed on to a pair of vintage Gargoyles, we’d all be dead.
Dang. Their prices are a Lot less than my Aviators in 20/20 from RayBan that I’ve used since ages ago.

So, strictly cosmetic for Karl right?
I mean lasers and shit don’t usually need external dimming and sharpening measures correct?
