This was a for-real song, recorded and released by Vince once and the Valients, around the time of Gulf War I. Sung to the melody of “Barbara Ann,” by the Regents (covered later by The Beach Boys).

David Goldman adds…*The last thing the US should do is commit ground forces.

It isn’t Iran that we would be fighting: It’s an international mercenary army that already includes thousands of fighters recruited from the three million Hazara Afghans now seeking refuge in Iran, from the persecuted Pakistani Shi’ites who comprise a fifth of that country’s huge population, and elsewhere…

The manpower pool from which these fighters are drawn is virtually bottomless. The war has already displaced half of Syria’s 22 million people, and Iran plans to replace Sunnis with Shi’ite immigrants in order to change the demographic balance. The Sunni side of the conflict has become globalized with fighters from the Russian Caucasus, China’s Xinjiang Province, as well as Southeast Asia.* https://pjmedia.com/spengler/2017/04/10/us-options-in-syria-dont-include-ground-troops/

      • April 11, 2017 at 2:49 pm

22 millions, huh? Ah, that brings up The Destruction of Sennacherib.

The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold,
        And his cohorts were gleaming in purple and gold;
And the sheen of their spears was like stars on the sea,
When the blue wave rolls nightly on deep Galilee.

Like the leaves of the forest when Summer is green,
That host with their banners at sunset were seen:
Like the leaves of the forest when Autumn hath blown,
That host on the morrow lay withered and strown.

For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
        And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed;
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!

They’ve never seen what a big nuke can really do, you know.

There was an episode on an old Sci-Fi show called Sliders where you had to tell the truth in that particular reality. If you lied, the results were not pretty. Imagine the Silence of the MSM talking heads.

Mindless Stuttering Media has a very long history of exaggerating stuff to get readers (now viewers). They created the ‘panic attack’ that accompanied Orson Welles’ broadcast of War of the Worlds in 1938.

How sweet would it be for them to be brought to their knees over it….

Ah, poor Juan hasn’t recovered from the shock of having the DMC turn on him after he got the nomination. Up until then they loved him, and they loved his Straight-Talk Express as well. But all of a sudden he’s not dissing Republicans; he’s running against a democrat and he’s not the media darling anymore. The shock snapped something in him.

    • April 11, 2017 at 2:10 pm
      Grunt GI

Sadly, most of those freakin’ RINOs never, ever understand that.

The media only loves them when they are trashing conservatives. As soon as they oppose Democrats they are HITLER!

Once you just accept that if you are a true conservative the entire media-entertainment complex will hate you and you will never be on the Georgetown cocktail party circuit, then you can do or say whatever you want and just HATE THEM BACK.

This of course, is Trump’s secret weapon that no one in Washington has figured out…he doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks of him.

He’s got a pile of money, is banging a smokin’ hot wife, has a great family, and after his Presidency is up, will retire to Florida and play golf and never look back. He doesn’t need to run a shadow government or be a lobbyist.

So, they have no power over him cuz he can just hate them back and fire back at their shit…

It is, of course, awesome to watch……

like the DBD babes taking a moonlight swim…..

    • April 11, 2017 at 2:14 pm

Must be some other Juan because McCain’t is the best tool the lefties have inside R’s and the mediots love him; wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he went Charlie Crist for the D nom next cycle, and even less surprised if they went for him.

Hey, how about a Clinton/McCain’t ticket? I mean they have a great deal in common, traitors to their country, they’ve gotten a lot of people killed, lied about their service, and they even look a LOT alike…fossils. Perfect.

Well, kinda sad since ol’ John and I went to the same alma mater….I am told his old man had to bail his ass out more than a few times while he was a midshipman….not the sharpest knife in the drawer, ya know.

He was a good guy 30 years ago…just think he’s overstayed his welcome and, like many Republicans, forgot what brought him here.

As the old saying goes, when you start believing your own bullshit, it’s time to go…..

We will always complain about what Obama did to this country but I believe in my heart that if McCain or Romney would have won we would have had completely open borders for the last 5 years and complete amnesty as well.

    • April 11, 2017 at 8:27 pm

@ robert, that is true, and further most of the purported R’s up the nom this cycle would have resulted in the same…in fact I can’t think of any of them that understood as DT did/does that the primary job of fed gov is to protect America from foreign attack…which is what open immigration absolutely is.

      • April 11, 2017 at 9:35 pm

        “…understood as DT did/does…”

The Donald knew and knows the immigration threat is not just, or even primarily, the southern border.

The dark question, full-bore paranoid perhaps, is did/does McCain’t also know that? And that focusing on the wall could earn him some points while taking attention away from the real threat that he, zero, the beast, and all of leftdom wish to protect and promote?
