The pain they feel – well, this, too, shall pass, and reason will return. Poor things. I can spare a molecule or two of pity-pooh for them, read ‘Thanatopsis’ to them, or a little Dylan Thomas. But right now, I would much rather listen to a little bit of Federico Garcia-Lorca:

    El remanso de aire
    bajo la rama del eco.

    El remanso del agua
    bajo fronda de luceros.

    El remanso de tu boca

Sam ~~ You are close to an out of body experience …

My eyes wander outside the window and
two patches of blue amid summer clouds
remind me of eyes locked with mine as
your tongue dances a tune merrily
around driving out rational thought and
    replacing it with want deeper
than the need for air to breathe.

Clouds and I float along currents
driven by natural forces born of
    frictional movements against
    soft surfaces now elevated and
a demanded release that will turn
    me into nature’s liquidity.

“all you women DBD readers…its your fault.”

You know? In a sense (but ONLY in a sense) she’s right. Women such as our female DBD readers ARE the reason Hildamort lost. Because you voted with your brains rather than your vulvae, Trump won. You voted for the PERSON not the category. And that drives them crazier than they already are. We of the underclass, the peed-ons are not supposed to think. Hell! We’re not supposed to be ABLE to think. We are supposed to follow the directions of our political masters. I believe that is the root cause of the Trump win. They believe their own hype. They forgot that all their polls were warped so as to manipulate the electorate instead of taking its pulse. When their “polls” turned out to be so enormously wrong, they were shocked. Believing one’s own hype is a recipe for disaster. The Imperial Japanese high command came to believe its own hype. After rolling over China (a truely 5th rate military power) so easily and after the destruction resulting from the devastating sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese high command considered themselves invincible – much like the left going into election day. That “invincibility” lasted less than half a year. Five months after Pearl Harbor the Allies fought them to a stand-still in the Coral Sea. SIX months after PH they got their asses handed to them at Midway. They were on the defensive thereafter. The leftists thought they were invincible. 8, November proved them wrong.

      If the Republic manages to survive another 20 years, however, when the children of the Millenials are of voting age, I greatly fear the left WILL, indeed, be invincible. Many of the voters who gave Trump his victory will be gone. If the Dems win then, that may be all she wrote. Damned glad I won’t live to see it but sorry for the likely lot of my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. {sigh}

(Sorry for the lengthiness of this. It has been stewing in my gut over a week.)

There was no one who dared tell the Hildabeast “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”.
Let’s hope that resolve stays, that the New Media continues to reach more and more people, that Charter Schools expand and force the existing school structure to start teaching…
But looking out now gives me a bittersweet pleasure that I have on children; none of mine will live into what I see is too likely to happen.

We need a new series, one without ‘rules’ and a new cast…as someone noted, much of the cast in in their 5 decade. Perhaps the DD decides to franchise and this new cast is the franchise club in another city…Not a replacement but a new toon to run alongside the original and funded separately. One for adult conservatives.

    • November 16, 2016 at 8:07 am
      Grunt GI

Well, that’s the great thing about cartoons…they stand outside of time. Yes, DBD has been entertaining us for nearly 15 years (DAMN) but it’s only gotten better with age. Hey Elizabeth Hurley and Elle McPherson and Cindy Crawford are in their 50s and are still smoking hot..so is Sam, if you follow a strict chronology.

I love these characters…and if you measure the reaction when Chris pulled a “Who shot JR?” toon with Jan, I think a lot of readers do…I can follow their antics for a long time…even Skye. 🙂

Now as for the more adult aspect, Chris gave us a little teaser about that weeks ago…then radio silence…I totally agree with you there…my wife and I often talk politics naked in bed…before doing more fun things..I could follow Sam and Zed’s political discussion like this for another few days!!!

      • November 16, 2016 at 12:29 pm
        Sam

Sam? In her 50s? Hmm. After Zed got back from the sandbox where he saved Toly’s life, there was a comment from Sam’s mom about her being 39. Zed’s response to a question about how many he had killed being something along the lines of “speaking of 39” (this all from memory). That wasn’t really eleven years ago was it? I’m not aging that fast, am I?

      • November 16, 2016 at 12:41 pm
        Grunt GI

Yup. That was almost a decade ago.
        Time flies.
Hard to imagine Chris was drawing this before the Iraq War.
Clearly the DBD women age very gracefully. Even if Sam would be over 50 I think we’d all tap that.
Not that I would recommend that, Zed would not react well.
        🙂

But we can all wish we were Zed and came home to Sam.

    Chris,
You never disappoint, but the views of Sam are over-the-top luscious and wonderful. I am blessed by marriage to a wonderful lady in her seventh decade who still enjoys making love. While we no longer are able to engage every day as we did in our thirties (after both having been married to spouses with little or no interest), we still pleasure each other as we are able.

And while neither of us would stray, we do both enjoy viewing beautiful – and younger, but mature – adult physical forms. Thanks for the mammaries. And, as Robert Heinlein said (in the collection of his writings and sayings that Virginia put together after he passed, Grumbles From The Grave), “It DOES look like an orchid.” 🙂

My lady and I have reached a similar status. After 35 years (we were both in the USAF and married late), we are still in love, and express it in a variety of ways.

This week’s artwork has been fantastic, and today’s is spectacular. May Sam and Zed enjoy several more decades of blissful entanglement (And Damon and Jan as well. Skye can get she to a nunnery!).

This one would never last on FB – it’s far too rude to liberals.
The left will be going crazy for a long time.
They had it all. The White House.
I expect they figured they had the Hill back, or so close it wouldn’t matter.
They had the Supreme Court packed with liberals.
They had millions of new democrat voters to make their permanent majority.
They couldn’t merely taste it, they had tasted, chewed, swallowed and ingested it.
They couldn’t lose; they had HILLARY, the Rightful Queen!

The reason why nobody worries about insulting those religions is that none of their adherents – to the best of my knowledge – have ever flown an airliner full of people into a skyscraper; or hacked off someone’s head with a butcher knife; or sawed a child apart – ALIVE! – with a frame saw; or a whole host of other equally abhorrent behaviors.
