This is what passes for leadership nowadays. Reid and Pelosi weren’t anomalies.

Ummm… does Anatoly know about Naomi yet?

Right idea. Wrong character. Sam was supposed to do that with the handbra from yesterday!

Hope Anatoly has a plan to get out of the doghouse.

It took the leftists 20-30 years to take over the Dem party. My hope is it won’t take as long to gut the loser GOPe.

I love the Day by Day Chris. Always right on the money with a very biting and truthful bit of wit.
I was completely, blown away, as it were, when I heard about the idiots surrendering to ovomit on the first day they are working…
OMG, they have to be tossed out with the trash.
Boehner is the worst speaker in modern history.

Absolutely agreed. Why did we vote for these?

Strictly speaking, babushka means the scarf the old women wear. Depending upon use it may be an endearment (grandmother) or not (old nosey bat — KGB informant).

    Replaced with who???
There are no Barry Goldwaters or Gerry Fords waiting in the wings.
Anyone out there remember when Henry M. ‘Scoop’ Jackson was the Democratic party?

“The embarrassing truth — the brontosaurus in the broom closet that nobody wants to talk about — is that the Republican Party was never the party of freedom. That Goldwater business in the 1960s was a fluke, immediately snuffed out by “older, wiser heads” in the GOP like those of Nelson Rockefeller, Weeping Willy Scranton, Henry Cabot Lodge, and George Romney. The Republican Party was created in the 1850s by northeastern mercantilists just like them, to crush the hopes of poor southerners for individual liberty and independence, and keep them bound in serfdom, paying 80 percent of all taxes collected in America.”

      — L. Neil Smith, “The Brontosaurus in the Broom Closet” (18 October 2009)

        Not to mention William Milliken.

“If there were a generic one-word expression for ‘one whose fear of the uncertainties of success moves him to surrender at the very moment of victory’, it would be ‘Republican’.”

You gotta be kidding me! If voting made any difference at all, they would have outlawed it in 1964 with the Voting Rights Act.

Those guys are just slow-motion democrats. What Obola is doing is what they want.
They simply don’t run on it, any more than any democrat does.

    • December 7, 2014 at 9:50 am

So it’s sorta like a Republican is just a Democrat set on “stun”?

      Kinda makes sense….

I don’t understand. What are the Republicans supposed to do before they assume power? Chris, you’re acting like it is already January 7th! Everything they do right now goes to Commie Reid and gets killed. When the fully Republican Congress takes charge on January 4th, I think things are going to change, and FAST.

CRybaby Boehner and Mummified Mitch are SUPPOSED to say NO, three ways – long, loud, and often – to any NEW immigration proposal, especially any put out by Obola, Whorehouse Harry (Reid), and Pelousy.
They’re NOT supposed to do a “meet and greet” to discuss terms of surrender and funding. Especially when #one – they KNOW that they’re going to take over both house of Kongress; and #two, the GAO has point out the way where they can DEfund a self funding Gubbment beurocracy (sp?).

Wow. Gerald Ford as a non-RINO Republican? Interesting viewpoint.

In my not-so-humble opinion, the worst thing the Republicans can do right now is to force a government shutdown. We’ve done it twice before, and it has not worked well for us. Can we learn from this? “Hand up! Don’t shut down!” 😉

Maybe it’s good tactics to propose a moderate bill now that they know Horsethief-in-Chief Reid will block, leaving them free to say, after Jan 7, that, “Hey, we tried to compromise. Now we’re doing it our way.”

    • December 7, 2014 at 1:04 pm

The best thing they can do is represent their constituents. If it’s a shutdown(which has happened 18 times since 1970) we may get another landslide election our way.Moderate these days=Liberal.

Oliver, if it didn’t work out so well for us, then why the results of the election?

We the people are BEGGING for a few Adults to represent us in Washington.

Quit listening to the Propaganda heads shilling for the state and see what Joe six-pack voter is voting for.

We really are about at our wits end, and you won’t like it if it goes hot.

“The Mayaguez incident is no more than a footnote in most histories of the period. The ship, crew and men who carried out the rescue deserve better than that. At a time when its resolve was in doubt, the U.S. showed the world that it would pay whatever price was necessary to protect its citizens and preserve its national honor.”

Which makes Ford infinitely better than Carter.

Although I share everyone’s frustration…a government shutdown is exactly what Obama wants…any distraction from his disastrous Presidency is good.

The fact of the matter is a shutdown won’t work. AND, Republicans have to be mindful of the fact that the infotainment industrial complex is HOSTILE to Republicans and totally in Obama’s camp…the Grinch stories about how the Republicans wanna cut off Grandma Social Security check before Xmas will be never ending.

If the stores I have see are true…if Republicans go through the NORMAL budget process, bringing all the chicanery of the last 8 years to light could be more beneficial…the true cost of the NEVER ENDING stimulus (yes that was baked into the budget, which goes a long way to expelling the almost doubling of the national debt since 2009) and the TRUE cost of Obamacare.

In addition, by funding each agency individually, it will force Obama to fund most of the government and THEN pick the fight over immigration.

IF that’s their plan then I think it is much smart…ending this endless OMNIBUS crap is at least as important to me as the immigration fight.

It could be a win-win overall..

If they have the guts to DO what they were SUPPOSED TO DO, but DemocRATS deliberately didn’t do for eight years. Pass a budget by the normal process and make Obama veto every single budget…or pass it…then see what happens.

As the bite of illegal immigrants taking jobs, clogging our schools and committing crimes continues (and you know it will), this will not turn out well for those remaining DemocRATS that have to run again in 2016…they either stand with Obama or go down.

    Just my thoughts.
