My first thought was her iPad exploded, but that is the iPhone, And then there is the pool of blood (or red throw rug?) and what appears to be a spot of blood between her nearly perfect breasts. I am puzzled how the blood gets from between her breasts to the floor, unless it went all the way through in which case…

Intellectually, I know this is a cartoon, albeit my favourite webtoon… (sorry, Chris… Bill Watterson’s Calvin & Hobbes is still Numero Uno in print) but when I saw this strip, I had a visceral reaction… and, from reading the comments, I wasn’t the only one.

I think our visceral reaction is based on the fact that we all expect the enemy to push things to open war. And we also expect that we will deal with that new reality. Merriam’s Corner can be anywhere.

I had a reaction on seeing the situation. I went into an alert and orient mode, then backed down.
I did not wish to make the first comment.
Considering that the pad she was holding may be Javier’s, her child, and the past hacking and control used from that pad has been shown to be considerable, there are people who might be able to locate the pad. Getting close is no longer difficult as there is a business going on. Triangulation, use of the home’s appliances, looking through the walls, and other means could be used to locate the pad. Then putting a projectile into the person holding it would not be difficult for some.
All in all it’s above my skill set. Now who has a dead list that keeps growing and a Dixie Mafia said to be at her beck and call?
At one time in my life I would have said that my speculation is complete fantasy. Snuffing out skills that some consider child’s play is directed at stopping what is neither. Things are happening now that they can only be considered and attempt to flood and numb Americans as part of the diversion from the asymmetric invasion.

    My simple response is wtf.

Whoever did this should die slowly, hopelessly, in a manner that would make the adepts of the Spanish Inquisition, nay, even the Overlords of Delgon swoon in envious admiration. Their nervous systems should be traced with such stimulation that maintains such excruciatingly exquisite agony that they would welcome the sweet mercy of mere pain. Finally, their bodies will be dismembered and disposed of so thoroughly, that not a single meson will be found within a parsec of another.

Mohawks, I believe, were one of the inhabitants of this continent who use flaying and muscle removal to test how brave a captured warrior was. His endurance showed his bravery. Screaming and blubbering was insulting to the captured warrior.
One tidbit from reading contemporary source books from Pre-Revolutionary War America.
Muslims used similar as a means on intimidating and insulting their enemies. After victory at the Battle of Cyprus in 1571 Lala Mustafa had the surrendered Venetian commander Bragadin mutilated and flayed alive, while his companions were executed. Bragadin’s skin was then paraded around the island, before being sent to Constantinople

The concept of a peaceful Indian prior to Europeans arriving in droves is a myth created for political reasons. There was considerable written back then of what was happening. Blood curling is another way to put it with running for cover being a wise response. Clear eyed handling of a matter is the best way.
