What is it about dogs and car rides? Even mechanical hounds, indeed.

Consider a dog’s sense of smell, which is a quantum leap above our own. When they ride in a car, with their head out the window, its a sensory high for them.

Interventor is right on. Someone once described a dog’s ability to differentiate scents as comparable to our ability to see slight differences in colors.

Of course my wife says that I see only the basic 8 colors. I am forbidden from offering an opinion on wall paint, counter tops, flooring, wallpaper, etc.

Share your secret, I try to never offer an opinion in those areas but get asked anyway.

My wife knows not to ask me. I see absolutely no problem with mixing plaid with checks.

I’ve heard it described as being able to smell into the past…

Colors, Clothes, Fashion are very unmixy things for me. I like dogs and they like me.
Once upon a time in the park, I gathered a crowd while playing my pipes and the chorus of 15+ hounds was fabulous.
Never met a dog who didn’t see a pick-up truck and start wagging their tail. Mine keeps choosing the newest & brightest in the lot and always seems disappointed when I keep driving my old one instead.

Children. Wadda ya gonna do with ’em?
Can’t leave ’em home, can’t take ’em in the restaurant, can’t leave ’em alone in the car. What’s a parent to do?

Being another 8 crayon box kind of guy, I found it simple – simply be consistent in describing colors as you seem them.

    “I took the red shirt”
    /No, that’s pink … or maroon … or magenta … or orange/
    “Yeah, the red one”

    “I took the blue shirt”
    /no, that’s teal/
    “Yeah, the blue one”

Nice truck. It might need some things hammered out.
The dawg has to gain mastery of truck bed entry skills. maybe a mod up the back (and sides?)with a bumper extension the dawg can use for a lift up, step wise? Or better programming?
