Nothing new here. I remember seeing Independence Day in the theatre in (may have been the last movie I saw in one). The scene where the aliens disintegrated the White House, Audience stood up and cheered. I was NOT expecting that.. especially since I was in Massachusetts at the time, and Bill Clinton was in the White House!
Just because he ‘got’ the massachussets vote doesn’t mean the votes were physically cast…the media conditions you to expect the vote to go a certain way and then when it’s printed out in the back room and delivered accordingly there’s less grounds for complaint…
Which is PRECISELY WHY they’re jumping through their own assholes trying to ban/confiscate our Scary Black Rifles with their Standard Capacity Magazines.

Anybody seen “Civil War” and have a synopsis? I have heard it is somewhat even-handed (a rarity with any entertainment these days), and I don’t want to piss away twenty bucks and have to walk out to avoid puking…
I figured it would be the same as ‘The Hunt’ in 2020. The ‘conservatives’ were all up in arms about the plot of Leftists kidnapping ‘deplorables’ and then, subsequently, hunting them. It was such a fuss that they delayed opening the movie at the theaters.
They did kidnap, and subsequently hunt them, but the plot wasn’t what everyone presumed it would be.
I enjoyed it enough to buy the DVD.
In the movie Hail!, the president and his cabinet were blown up ala 20 July plot. I’d call it a black comedy and it was made and released about 1973. The president was a paranoid Nixon like character. None of the other characters didn’t match anyone.
