I’ve always selected the “Skye” level for every DBD fundraiser for I’ve always had faith in her eventual epiphany. All those who dismissed her as incorrigible can have a surprise, but I knew she was related to Sam and Zed and was eventually redeemable. I hope Chris makes her a star conservative and enduring polemic to the established left ideology.

Karine’s reply: We are immediately ending ‘foreign involvements’. We will, within 4 months, present plans for geothermal & nuclear initiatives that will provide cheap reliable power nationally within 8 months. Further, within 4 months we’ll begin a process to tap and distribute by pipeline Great Lakes water nationally. * huh? oh… pardon me, was dreaming…

Mayra Flores used to be a democrat until they walked away from her. There is always hope.

You know, I have talked for years about piping water nationwide through a network. Since we have so much water here in the Midwest from time to time, I always thought of it as a for-profit idea. Didn’t think about the Great Lakes…how about Hudson Bay. We’ve got a pipeline almost complete. Should use it for something?

      Hudson Bay is saltwater.

The population of humans on this planet cannot expand forever without creating a concomitant expansion of human misery. We grow food in dry areas by depleting underground aquifers that cannot be replaced. For example, the underground water in the Australian aquifer has been dated to 2,000,000 years old (via radioactive Argon dating I believe) and is not coming back once drained. Without having done exhaustive calculations it is my opinion the population of humans on earth exceeds the long term carrying capacity by billions at this time.

Are we willing to make this reduction by actions that minimize human suffering or will we just let this reduction follow the course we are on as victims of our own impulses?

Sometimes, an exception proves a rule. Equally, sometimes a question to a leftie is the answer. Especially so, when the purported ‘answer’ is gobbledygook.

“Green energy” … may just as well be powered by unicorn farts and rainbow beams.

Much like that ending scene in “Animal House” where the Delta House marches the band into a dead-end alley, Biden and Congress are taking America down the same alley.

The big difference is that Biden and Congress are no Delta House, and never will be …

    And yet, “We Democrats…”

Not that there’s much difference if she said “We Republicans”.

Like Skye I too was one of the Democrats, and went to Independent under Reagan. figuring I would get to Republican once RR’s influence made the Party Grand, and it did, for a while. But I have slung off any credibility and distinction between those lying labels and have kept the I as my (non) affiliation all this time.

But it’s time for a change. As discussed with Chris the other day, I have really come to embrace the historical epithet of Tory to describe the contemporary traitors and toadies that we are surrounded and controlled by, who style themselves as D’s and R’s as if there is any meaningful difference at all. Henceforth to me at least they are all T’s, and I will choose for myself and other Patriots as P’s, and the CRA will be (is!) peopled almost entirely with them.

Whaddaya say Skye? Want to be out in front of even the fam back in TX? You can now be known as the Voice of the Patriots, until of course you are silenced, cancelled, or killed by attack from the T’s. Which possibility is the whole raison d etre of the New Republic, to be free again, free from them all.

I’m hoping there are many more of us, perhaps kindred spirits of Doubting Skye, than the Left/Right media crickets are conveniently not chirping about.

    Green Energy!
Well if this is too long, Delete it Chris.
“Each mine usually consists of thirty-five to forty humongous 797 Caterpillar haul trucks along with hundreds of other large equipment,”
“Each 797 uses around half a million gallons of diesel a year. So, with an inventory of just thirty-five the haul trucks alone are using 17.5 million gallons of fuel a year for just one lithium site.”
A typical EV battery, Stein notes, weighs 1,000 pounds, contains 25 pounds of lithium, 60 pounds of nickel, 44 pounds of manganese, 30 pounds of cobalt, 200 pounds of copper and 400 pounds of aluminum, steel and plastic. Inside are over 6,000 individual lithium-ion cells.
“It should concern you that all those toxic components come from mining,” he writes. “For instance, to manufacture each EV auto battery, you must process 25,000 pounds of brine for the lithium, 30,000 pounds of ore for the cobalt, 5,000 pounds of ore for the nickel, and 25,000 pounds of ore for copper. All told, you dig up 500,000 pounds of the earth’s crust for just one battery.”
