That’s TWO 2001 references today. One here and one in the comments on “Ziggy.” Is it an anniverasary? (sorry for SP)

The liberal agenda is far more important than journalistic integrity for the worshipers.

      ” journalistic integrity “???????
Shirley, you jest. Wouldn’t they need to qualify as “journalists” first?

        And DON’T call me Shirley!

Well, in Shrillery’s case, there’s only one star. A giant, old, rather gassy, and cooling rapidly. She looks to be ready to implode into a white dwarf, and then into a black (did I just say a racist thing?) hole at any moment, no one can tell exactly when.

Star Shrillery is surrounded by a group of clouds, not yet stars, but trying to become so, all also rather gassy, most indistinguishable from each other at this time.

Oh. I’m sorry. Were we talking politics, or astronomy?

      Amend to:
      “A Red giant. . . . “

Must be dense this a.m. but I do not understand the connection between Hildabeast’s inane comments and 2001.

She’s giving the media the HAL 9000 “I’m sorry, Dave” treatment, and unlike Bowman they’re taking it and just agreeing that no, they don’t need to know and yes, it’s perfectly OK for her to “take over the mission” even if that includes 86’ing everyone else. The mission being “world socialism or bust”.

      Maybe a quote from A Few Good Men will clarify things;

H; The TRUTH? YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

MSM; No, Ma’am. You’re right, we can’t, and that’s why we don’t want to know.

As the old saying goes, if you don’t want the answer, don’t ask the question. The MSM don’t want the answer, because then the Great Unwashed would find out and that’s not helpful to the Cause. The cause being, again, world socialism under the rule of an enlightened elite’ of benign tyrants.

Of course, the small drawback to that is that the term “benign tyrant” is an oxymoron right up there with “jumbo shrimp” and “nonviolent war”. The latter term actually used by the left to define their various crusades against the rest of us; see “All The Trouble In The World” by P.J. O’Rourke.

Yes, progressivism really is a mental illness. One of the most dangerous ones ever to come down the pike.

      cheers

“The cause being, again, world socialism under the rule of an enlightened elite’ of benign tyrants.”

Enlightened? Benign? Ha! Mental illness to be sure; regressivism not progressivism. Yeah I know, can’t take back a term hijacked a hundred years ago, but it’s just so wrong.

In Canada, what is called RINO in the US called themselves “Progressive Conservatives”…

Also known as the Red Tories. That being said, the Progressive Conservatives always seemed far to the left of the RINOs…

And then there was the various iterations of the Rhino Party…

We may but pray there is someone worth a tinker’s damn to run, and that the congress will continue to fall into the hands of the TEA types. If not that, at least some HTG conservative sorts.
