What, a real armored suit? Such a thing actually exists, that doesn’t look or drape like an over-filled sea bag? Zounds!

All of my suits drape like an overfilled seabag these days, but that ain’t the suits’ fault.

It does, it’s bespoke(made to order), and it costs as much as a decent used car.

And the product. Cuz, you know, Zed wouldn’t.

She got him the suit and the product, and then dressed him up in it to get her squee! on…Now we have to see if Zed is going to reciprocate by yelling “Jessica” in the heat of the moment. Dangerous.

    Too Tall

Interesting that something which once may have been in the realm of science fiction and now could be considered a wild extravagance may soon be as practical and necessary as a pair of work jeans.

As the old saying goes: “Yesterdays science fiction/fantasy is today’s science fact.”

There IS a company (the name escapes me) that makes bullet resistant clothing like that portrayed in the John Wick movies. Though it WILL stop the bullet’s penetration like most soft body armor, it WON’T prevent the blunt trauma from the kinetic impact.

Might a bullet-proof pair of boxers be called a Wickipeedia entry?

This is where the tailor is buying the material.

The proprietary fabric manufactured by GNTMCO Defense Systems, NanoTechnology, is a Nano-Reinforced, high-tensile strength composite created for use in soft armor solutions.

Harnessing the strength of aramid fibers, carbon nanotubes, graphene, and other high strength nano materials. About 50,000 times smaller than a human hair, 30 times stronger than kevlar, 100 times stronger than steel, yet one sixth as heavy, carbon nanotubes are arguably the material of future innovation.

How to cut and sew the material, could be an issue. Perhaps extreme heat and chemical bonding.

So much for the 38″ waist…
Bullet ‘resistant’ business and formal suits, dresses and evening gowns for both men and women, briefcases, children’s backpacks that unfold to cover several kids, umbrellas (like Kingsman), etc. have been available for many, many years.
They’re particularly common in South America, I imagine the Don has several.
There’s a huge market for politicians and it’s assumed that most if not all of the senior ones such as Presidents and PM’s are armoured from collar to cuffs.
Even the *resident probably wears one (cut large in the crotch for depends)but he’d need help to get into it and then more to help tie his new oversized shoes.
Looking at most politicians, a 38″ waist shouldn’t be much of an issue either, that size is probably an ‘off the rack’ one, as would be a 48″ 😉

The next generation vests are an aramid/woven-ceramic layer for penetration over a non-newtonian liner to absorb and distribute the impact to avoid internal and external bruising and broken bones. The ‘soft to wear/rigid under impact’ type of helmet has been in use at ski hills for at least 25 years now and I wish I’d had it in the vest I wore daily in uniform. I wish I’d had a set of cooling tubes and a fan too but you take what you can get. EOD suits have those now, 30 years too late.
