Chris “The check is in the mail”, and, “I’ll respect you in the morning”. Words to live by.
Single best comment I ever heard from the debrief of a training event or operation that did not go well:
“I’ve seen this movie before. No matter how many times they remake the Titanic, the damn boat still sinks.”
At least with training you can keep running the exercise until the boat doesn’t sink, which greatly improves the chance of ops with the same result.
But “greatly improves” does not equal “insures.” “No battle plan survives contact with the enemy.”
