“You mean, the people are armed?” Prince Bentrik was incredulous.

“Great Satan, aren’t yours?” Prince Trask was equally surprised. “Then your democracy’s a farce, and the people are only free on sufferance. If their ballots aren’t secured by arms, they’re worthless.”

Space Viking, H. Beam Piper 1964

The people of Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom are learning that lesson the hard way.

    Hopefully we will be wiser.

Property taxes in FL aren’t gone yet, but Here’s hoping!
The larger implication is beautiful, we will now OWN our property. The State can’t take it away for not paying them tribute every year!

I have a love/hate with property tax. I hate that it exists and I have to pay each year, I love that it keeps generational wealth from owning all property. Thing is, land is the truest limited resource (at least until we start colonizing the Moon or Mars). So if it costs nothing per year to own, the rich will try to own as much of as they can and then hold it until it becomes valuable to use.

I do like what some states have done where primary residence of someone over age 60-ish is exempt from property tax. I think that’s a good compromise where nobody should lose their home over property tax, but it keeps land from being horded.

Those countries are on the fast track to being feudal or dhimmis.
Victims. Freedom will definitely mean nothing left to lose. Fight or die on your knees and face. Same as us.

There are other weapons besides guns, other methods than face-to-face, and other times to fight than daylight.
Die on your feet or live on your knees.

You have to be pragmatic about these things.

In the dark, from behind, etc., are not dishonorable. Just practical.

The Sykes-Fairbairn dagger wasn’t intended for la-di-da “knife fighting” Hollywood style. It was intended for eliminating sentries before they could raise the alarm.

As seen in NC with that young woman so foully murdered, that’s how the enemy does it. they are owed the courtesy of being responded to in kind.

In feudal Japan, the noble samurai despised the shinobi- the ninja- officially because they were peasants with no understanding of “honor”.

The real reason was that in encounters between the two sorts, the samurai noticed that they were consistently losing. The ninja were simply better-trained and more efficient soldiers than the samurai were.

Being a samurai sounds good. But being a ninja gets the job done.

And SFans should remember; the most efficient Lensman was Nadreck of Palain VII, the nearest thing to a ninja the Patrol had.

Back in the fifties when I was a boy and a bit growing up in south Florida, Dade county, they had homestead exemption.

If you built a home on raw land you had an automatic homestead exemption; no or very much reduced (Hey I was a boy and a bit, I don’t remember which it was.) property tax until you sold the property.

So here in The Fla quite a few on our purported side still don’t grok the truth and the reasoning…

They hold out examples of their own childhood (proven miraculous) shots for polio measles mumps etc and conflate those five or six with the fifty or sixty (unproven unknown) that are scheduled for our kids and grandkids today…

And the complete idiocy is that the shots aren’t banned, you want to poke your kids into insanity or oblivion that’s your call, the shots are available.

It’s that “mandate” part that will NOT be abided, poking our children and of course us, at the point of a gun? Hell the fuck no. DeSantis is The Man!

Really riles me that the term mandate is being tossed around as equivalent to governmen’t lawful order, when the only true usage for it is the power or responsibility we allow to said gov by our own vote and hand, to do our bidding. That bidding does NOT include forced medication/vaccination of any of us, but it will if we do not rise up and refuse!

    NO VACCINATION “MANDATE”!
