Oh, Sam could allow Blue Staters entry.
But with the stipulation (in writing, signed and notarized if necessary) that they’re not to be allowed to vote in any local and state elections, and can’t run for elected office or be appointed to bureaucratic office for FIVE years.
Don’t like it? There’s the highway. Runs in two directions. It brought ya in. It can also brought ya out equally as well.

Federal voting? That’s a long subject for another day.

They can always vote in their former state for Federal elections. Local elections there as well until they “establish residency” in their new victim state.
Isn’t it up to the state to define the conditions of residency? I think 4 years continuous presence within the state (at least 10 months per year) before you are subject to state and local taxes (you remain liable to your former state for taxes) before you are a “resident” for tax liability or voting in state elections sounds about right.

Residency requirements are generally whatever serves progressive political purposes. Rather like “citizenship”.

How long was Hillary a “resident” in New York before she was elected to the Senate from that state?

They most likely will, and in several other places too…or at least someone will drop off ballots with ther name on it. I wonder how many ‘John Smith’ ballots were ‘counted in the last election ?

There’s a talk radio guy in Dallas (Rick Roberts, WBAP) who advocates nobody should be eligible to vote until they’ve worked and paid taxes for five years. Sounds like a good policy to me…

I remember Rick Roberts … he used to broadcast his AM radio drive time show in San Diego some 10 or 12 years ago.

It used to be that you had to own property in order to vote.
I firmly believe that you should have to pay taxes before being eligible, not get a ‘refund’ for never having worked a day, but prove you paid into running the country.

I would love to see only taxpayers vote. But with the demonrat numbers heading for the lowest part of the sewer, and the uniparty reps thinking they are in, things may not be what they seem. We may decide that the uniparty business, as usual, is not worth voting for. OR, the demonrats may just simply steal it again as there are no consequences for doing so.

With the talk of vaccination passports, what goes around, comes around. And usually in a way no one expected. The “Blue” want “anti-racism” so that means “manti-anti-racism” is also in play. Fun times.

The way things are going up here, I fully expect you’ll have to show ‘proof of vaccination’ in order to vote in the next election, provided we have one which isn’t guaranteed with the socialist junta we have in power right now.
I walked into the polling place the lasttime with no mask, fully expecting to be thrown out but noboidy said anything, so maybe it might not be enforced, but I’d wager there will bea space beside your name for the vaccination number to be filled in before you get your ballot. Unless of course, you show up in a bus wearing a black bag along with forty others, get ushered in to vote then get back on the bus and head for another polling station, as was captured on film the last time.

There is a long-time precedent for what has been suggested here. I do a lot of genealogical research and several of my ancestors coming over in the 1630’s and 40’s has to pass certain requirements in their prospective towns to obtain certain privileges such as voting. Colonials had certain standards to keep society free of the undesirables. It was called obtaining freeman status. It worked.

I was recently given the results of a deep dive on Ancestry.com and others by a cousin in the Boston area. It turns out my family is directly descendant from Miles Standish from the Mayflower. I have the entire trace from him to my paternal grandfather.

There was something about Boat People from Cuba, too. The counter current was that a rich country could afford it – be nice. With the IRS and the Federal Reserve Bank (privately owned) keeping the books what could go wrong? So yea don’t even have to ask ‘what happened’?

My first ancestor to the colonies was a pow (Scottish soldier captured by the Brits), sold at public auction. Not expecting ‘reparations’, just sayin’ they weren’t all black.

      So……who owes reparations to whom?

Well, I can trace some of my great great grandmothers Cherokee family members to the Trail of Tears from their native home in Tennessee, and others of her family who escaped the roundup and served honorably against the fedgov that forced it a few decades later in the Civil War. I know I could pursue her great granddaddy’s Tomerlin family to a Scots/Irish origin but I just haven’t.

I will readily admit that I do not tend to think like the herd. But somehow I just do not see where restricting, more than the 20-30 gun laws already on the books, will change a single thing in shootings.

My wife’s known ancestry includes; Charlemagne – 676 Ad 34th Great Grandfather; Clovis Prince Klodwig – 465 AD 42nd Great Grandfather; and a complete list ending with her birth in Washington DC in 1941. So what? She is currently an American citizen with the same problems as everyone else! We need to stick with todays problems and come up with todays solutions!
